Doubt it, or we'd all have heard about it in the news. A production like that might be neccesary for something as simple as cardiac arrest or MVA, with the highly trafficed areas of New York.
This is an odd question. Does anyone know if Frank Chara still works with Ladder 21 NYFD? I work in the Make-up Fx Dept for Warner Bro. in the Uk. And we use for Ref a Book called 1000 on 42nd st. Which features the people of NY's Portrait photograph. And well Frank's photo kinda captivated me. And just wanted to say hello. And hope he's well. So if your out there Frank.Get in touch!!!
The Police truck isnt armored nor is it swat its An ESU Truck Emergency Services Unit basically they get called to all types of emergenceys just not police buisness, but they do carry heavyier fire power then regular patrolman. Engine 34 is A Seagrave, Seagrave is the number one brand for the fdny Except for the following. some reserve trucks are Macks. Engine 54 is a ferrara. Rescues 2,3,4,5 are E Ones, Rescue 1 is a Pierce and i believe one of there Hazmat trucks might be a ferrara
ESU is both Swat and a rescue unit. Most of the swat gear is carried on the bigger Mack trucks, which respond to major incidents where it's needed with two officers and a sargent. the NYPD also has several Lenco Bearcats for armored vehicles
engine 34 is a sutphen...NY loves their sutphens...and a fight? they send the medic trucks to med calls. in FDNY the those trucks run everything else, but med calls in the medic truck only.
UMM NO Engine 34 is a Seagrave and FDNY does not own a Sutphen in frontline. For being a firefighter you sure don't know your rigs. Sutphen and Seagrave look nothing alike.
its my apologies...i meant seagraves...but typed sutphen...our neighboring company owns al old fdny seagraves...my local dept owns a few sutphens...as that may have caused my confusion.
@ne32firefighter Engines respond to ALL calls in New York. When its a ALS/Mass Amount of people Call they roll the Medic Supervisor your "Medic Car" Please people read facts before posting on Youtube..

E-34 is like mostly other Trucks a Seagrave. They had a ALF Eagle for some time, which is running now as a Reserve, as far as I know.

from the amount of apparatus on the call it look like a fire or a fight due to the amount of police

Maybe a bomb threat?
MetalSanke 3 years ago
if it was, i would think that the NYPD would have not let anyone get that cloase to the scene

It was for a very brief time. However the rig quickly became popular because of how unusual it is.
