Frankly, as much as I love Iommi and old Sabbath, this particular track never popped out much to me. So when Randy and Jake add there own, more technical touches to the song it makes it a bit more interesting to me.
@DjSneyke I love Randy Rhoads, he has no equal with Ozzy. One of my favorite guitarists. His rhythm for the song is fantastic, but solo wise, not one of his best works imho. Although not a big fan of his, Gillis did a great job with it on Speak of the Devil and Jake's version is fantastic.
I love jake e lee on all other songs, but not on this one. Paranoid should be played as simple as possible - like Iommi plays it. Simple strokes, no fancy stuff.
why do u think Jake is nearsightet when it's pretty dark out there ... i dont see nothing special !??Yeah i know about tommy bolin -he was in deep purple for a time , right and that band/DP has to be ''compare ''to Badlands, btw !!!! ... i.e. the real and feel rock !
I remember hearing years ago that his he was very nearsighted.( It stuck in my head because my best friend at the time was also very nearsighted and I used to tease her about it. :P) I've always appreciated his showmanship though.
holy fuck. everything jake does reminds me exactly of eddie van halen. his hair his two stripes on the bottom of his guitar, and the flanger he used towards the end. VAN HALEN AND OZZY OSBOURNE FOR LIFE!
Well, they both brilliant guitarists on the L.A. club circuit at the same time so there's bound to be some cross-referencing. But I always thought Jake's "stage persona" with Ozzy was more influenced by Tommy Bolin than anything.
Fantastic concert! I love this song particularly for all the right reasons: I first heard it (this live version) around about the time I was first introduced to Beer, Sex and Rock n Roll. Way hay! :D
heres an interesting fact. randy rhodes maybe the best talent wise but, jake e. lee is my favourite guitarist from ozzy. but, none of them suck. theyre all unique in there own way, and all of them bring something different
Jake seems like he's from outer space .

@DjSneyke Maybe, but obviously Tony Iommi plays Paranoid the best :)

And does Jake know who the hell he's pointing to in the crowd at the beginning of this? Isn't he terribly near-sighted?

@FoxtrS2
It's known fact that Jake had very poor vision. It was so bad Ozzy and the band had a nickname for him: Mr. Magoo.

hähhä ! sounds cute, though... and eventhough he did these fallingback,etc-stunts -amazing !
