  • Its my opinion and it may be rather much truth, Pit Fighter falls in between the ass crack of fighting game fans and MMA fans, and it fails to please either side.

  • when you beat the game, you get a blow job, Thats how badass this game is . lol , also How fuckin creepy is that Dominatrix guy ? aha .

  • Buenos recuerdos aquellos

  • awesome game, terrible review

  • "Who's Bad"?

    "I'm Bad"! says Pit Fighter.

I have the arcade version on Midway Arcade Treasures 2 & it's true, this game is awesome.

Pit Fighter VS Kasumi Ninja. That defenatly would be the game of the year.

  • ArmaliteFan u/ is a moron, the arcade version was amazing, and the ports to genesis and snes didnt do it justice at all, although the genesis version is the best of them.

  • squaring up a roid monkee NFL reject against multiple knife wielding hookers is truly modern Shakespear.

  • everyone go out into the street and shout PIT FIGHTER!

  • MUITO LOUCO PARA ÉPOCA

  • My friend's brother had this game but we weren't allowed to play it, GAHA.

  • DA by day hooker by night!

  • This does indeed have a strange charm to it. To be honest when I played this game the first time, it reminds me of a Reb Brown movie.

  • This brings back memories. All gacked out on Dr. Pepper at 3am in the morning playing the crap outta this. Ahhhhh! Delicious nostalgia!

  • this is the perfect review for pitfighter, so bad its good

  • This game has an amazing physics for its time

  • I liked pit fighter, never liked Buzz only Ty

  • We used to spend hours killing this game back in the day!!! I miss Pitfighter!

  • I think the review for this game is bullshit. Pit Fighter was an awesome game! I liked it better than street fighter anyways(maybe not mortal combat). It wasn't at any arcades around where i was, only at the airport. i used to love when my grandma was coming to visit cus it mean ti could go with my mom to pick her up and play Pit Fighter while we waited for the plane to land! I got this game for Genesis and me and my brothers and one friend in particular spent many hours playing this game.

  • The arcade version of this was good I thought back in the day. I remember it was proper hard though, I guess the arcade I used to play it in had the difficulty settings on the cab ramped up so you would pump in the 20p coins lol. Street Fighter 2 Cab was right next to this one, that got played a lot more though and was all round far superior and still very playable today.

  • I agree! This game has every sterotype of fighter of the 90's. Its cheeser than Nachos! I love this game! I spent a lot quarters and came out with a aching shoulder from all the button mashing. I absolutly LOVE the scene with the forklift and the money.

When everyone was playing Street Figher, I was playing this one.

  • buzz will fuck u up!! bitches!! lol

  • Absolutely loved this game in the 90s. Mainly cause of the digitized graphics. Like he said, it fell right in line with terrible Van Dame movies like Bloodsport. Back then we were just excited to see real looking characters in a videogame that digitized graphics and FMV seemed like the wave of the future. How wrong we were...

  • JUST WAIT ! LOL

  • oh and if you pause it when you hit angel you can see her tits !!! hehe

  • thumbs up if you have pitfighter !!!!!

  • Yeah I liked this game. This version is far better than the SNES version.

  • I love killing people in the crowd!!!

  • haha "Kessel Run".

  • Megadrive/Genesis version hasnt aged well but arcade version still doesnt look too bad for its age, it plays like a one legged cat trying to bury a turd on a frozen pond but it doesnt look too bad.

  • I got PIT FIGHTER today

  • Ive got pit fighter!!!!! Lol

  • At the time I praised this game so much... Oh, boy.

  • "I've got Pit Fighter!"

  • i think pit fighter is kool dont bag the game

  • I've got Pit Fighter! *waits for the party to get started* :D

  • pit fighter vs kasumi ninja vs cosmic carnage

    vs way of the warrior

  • This was at my local Skateland. One of the best beat em up of all time. Thank goodness it was made for sega genesis, and manage to look very much like the arcade.

  • Pit-Fighter MOVIE!

Think about it. It would be oh so awesome.

  • the music was hot ..remember wen u died music was hot on tha last dude ...fuck street fighter 4 its 4 marks anyway

  • All you have to do is shout "I've got Pit-Fighter...And the part gets started." lol

  • Guardians Of The Hod is worth checking out. It's like Pit Fighter, but a beat-em-up, and the first few bosses join you after you beat them.

Also, there was plans for a Pit Fighter 2, with the three characters from here, and three characters from Guardians Of the Hood being playable. That was never released (quietly canceled.)

  • Man I only used to finish this game in difficulty level set to 1 or 2...

And did you know you can make a infinite combo with kato? Just keep smashing ABC while you tap forward....

  • going back to the ol LIVE ACTION flick thing. im pretty sure that this game deserves to be in a movie. and theres so much potential to generate a game like this. idk like some power stone or Def jam fight for new york mechanics

  • Wait for it, wait for it.........YEEEAAAAHHH!!!

  • d a by day gutter whore by night

  • one badass game to play when ur smoking some weed with friends hahahah!!!!!!!!

  • Was it this game or another game that Johnny Cage made a cameo in...?

I might be making that up but i really do remember Cage breakin away from MK to do another game..

  • This is an extremely petty thing to point out, but I hate how it says "KO's" on-screen during the entire game. Anything which proudly boasts a blatant grammatical error like that deserves a stern telling-off.

  • Back in the day these graphics were like mind-porn.

  • I have this game, and it's really fun, even my father wanted to play with it.

CGR should get the Master System version, it's rare, and has some awesome music in my opinion, but the controlls are not the best.

  • Ummm... crap?

  • BEST GAME EVAR

  • You gotta love that kick.

Mmmm digitized animation, what could have possibly caused to go away? :D

  • DA by day gutter whore by night

  • I used to like this game as a kid at the arcade. The graphics were impressive for the time, and three player was crazy.

  • Kessel run...you sir, are a GOD!

  • review is hilarious

  • You still not over that "DA by Day..." yet?

Also Ultimate Mindrape 2D Fight Match.

Pitfighter vs Kasumi Ninja vs Survival Arts vs Tattoo Assasins vs Shaq Fu.

    Can't beat that.

  • I've got Pit Fighter! And the party gets started...

    ahAhAHHAhAAH amazing!!!!

  • Oh, wow, You actually played Guardians of the Hood at the arcades?! It's close to impossible to find and is much worse than Pit Fighter. It makes Pit Fighter look like Street Fighter 2.

  • It's not bad actually. Now the SNES and arcade versions, those were bad.

  • @ArmaliteFan

The arcade version was a better choice, but when it came to the SNES, that sucked.

  • @ArmaliteFan the arcade version is the same as the gen version.. its the snes version that sucks all by itself...trust me play the arcade version its cool as hell man...

  • @ArmaliteFan SNES version may have sucked, but I had fun with it as a kid, which made it awesome.

  • @ArmaliteFan But the arcade version is the original. :l

  • DA by day all kinds of nasty stuff by night/the ball sweat hydoken

  • You are correct, it's SOOO bad that it's good.

  • You never heard of the Millenium Falcon?

  • Haha, I remember this one from when I was like 7. I had it on the PC. This game is just horrible, but I just accepted it back then.

  • bad animation yech good vid bad game

  • This game is a comedic masterpiece.

  • lol PIT FIGHTER vs Kasumi Ninja! Wow how do you come up with this?! Pure Gold. Danja vs TY vs Angus vs random leather clad chick = awesome. Just put some dumbed down GTA one liners and you have a party classic.

But yes back in the day i loved playing ppl in Pit Fighter. Classic

  • LOL @4:42 the lady hits the computer opponent after game over!

  • I checked out the Kasumi Ninjas review, and you looked totally different than i thought you would look

  • Pit- Fighter has his Place in the Beat èm up History. It marks the beginning of the long evolution in this genre that led us to Mortal Kombat and Def Jam today

  • That hur my eyes.

  • I used to play this in the arcade, I thought it was cool.

  • kessel run...lolz

  • best console ever ..... love lt ........

  • I bet the actor who played Buzz, is not over weight and works in construction.

  • Does this guy get paid to make all these reviews?

  • well he is a youtube partner and he owns his own website so i would take a guess and say yes

  • Thumbs down? I wasn't criticizing. I love his reviews. I was just unaware.

  • Don't bother with that.

Some trolls just go around giving random thumbs down 4 fun.

I got a Thumb Down when I wrote something factual like "The Soviets tested a super nuke with a 24 Megaton yield in 24th Dec 1962" on a video about H-bombs.

I saw another comment page with nearly all comments with a thumbs down.

Some people despite escaping reality to the Net STILL don't have a life.

  • The grunts sound the same as the ones on Cannon Fodder when you shot an enemy. I had it on the Mega Drive back in the day but I'm sure they're the same.

  • Oh Pit Fighter. Yes, the game was so crummy I just had to keep playing it.

  • i remember this game, i think we rented it once from blockbuster lol

  • i had this game on the mega drive when i was 10 years old and it was great

  • Part of the brilliance of this game is that while it is technically a co-op brawler in multiplayer, you can just say screw it and wail on your friends. So much fun. The New Super Mario Brothers Wii actually has a very similar feel even though it's a platformer.

  • That's weird. I just watched the Kasumi Ninja review before watching this one.

  • This review was worth watching just for the Kasumi Ninja jokes. Anyways I don't remember if the arcade version was any good, but the home versions were ass.

  • genesis music sounds like someone bending a piece of sheet metal. gross. SNES was so much better at graphics and sound then the genesis and it had more buttons on the controller. BUT Gensis had some amazing games you would never have seen on the snes.

  • Wow, for once I actually have played an arcade game that you reference.

  • lmao kasumi ninja is that shitty game with the irish guy named angus who wears a kilt and shoot fireballs from his firecrotch. lmao

  • soo... fight club without the everything

  • i always want to watch van damme movies after playing these old fighting games

  • Pit Fighter---the poor man's street fighter.

  • exactly

  • I use to work at a wal-mart several years ago, and me and one of my coworkers would stand on a pallet, and lift ourselves up with a forklift just so we would act like we won Pit Fighter.

  • Kasumi Ninja? You've never heard of Kasumi Ninja? It's the game that made the Kessel Run in less than....gold.

  • REMAKE Pit Fighter for next gen game systems,& make this fighting game with 3-D graphics, better controls & gameplay with some sick ass characters!!!!

  • 1st rule of pit fighter is do not talk about pit fighter

  • Second rule of pit fighter is: you do NOT talk about pit fighter!

  • This game is SO horrible but fun 2 laugh at :P

  • gutter whore by night! lol

  • I wonder if the producers of this game took the idea from the movie Lion heart...

  • the home version of this game was very poor quality, but the arcade one was not bad at all, in fact i enjoyed playing it with a couple of friends.

  • Yep as cheap as this game is and as badly as it has aged it was still pretty neat to marvel when it came out in 1990. I mean I don't think any Arcade before it had digitized characters. They looked so real like a movie! LOL seriously for the time they did. Until MK came out later a few years later.

  • Man you can beat on people in the crowd lol. Ahead of it's time. If only in Mortal Kombat could you kick off the head of a monk in the background.

  • What happened to the classic game room's Sega Model 1 with High Definition graphic?

Mark, I hope your 16 bit wonder is not broken

  • This game is 100% better than all the modern American "high tech" garbage coming out these days. Long live old school arcade games!

  • I feel like I'm watching a Van Damme movie...

  • i never knew cgr had an atari jaguar.

  • remind me mortal kombat 1 on sega.

  • awesome review, strange game

  • Remember me of Def Jam Fight for NY

  • Do you still have the blender?

  • The Amiga version was the most faithful as it had the proper arcade scaling. It also had kickass techno music !

  • My brother bought this game when i was 4 and he was 7 and we played this like the world was gonna end, its such a fun game. i don' care what anybody says i never thought it was bad.

  • lol i have this game and it's so cheesy!

  • In order to enjoy the game, you have to get past its ugly face.

  • Lol at the Star Wars reference^^

  • i thought the arcade was great.

  • I didn't even like this as a kid

    this sucked so bad

    also with friends

    worst fighting game ever xD

    Takken 4 is okay

    just i lost it

  • I had this on my game boy, I bought it because it wasn't so expensive and when I started playing it I knew why is was cheaper. It was bad...

  • pik fighter XD

  • Hmm.. to remake it today and not better way, this game must come out on cellphones based on java, and they must make multiplayer - to play with friends, then world will see the MIGHTY PIT FIGHTER!

  • i used to play this game all the time, i never finished it though, the last level was hard

  • This game is SOOOO bad. I rented it, then demanded my money back.

  • It is so lame how kids who never even played these games act like they rented them or played them and remember them when they were 3 years old.

  • If you must know, I rented it when I was 10. Go back in your troll hole.

  • I remember the games I played at 3 years old.

  • You dont remember anything from when you are 3 years old... and if your parents let you play video games at that age they should be put in jail.

  • Actually, I do remember the games I played when I was 3.

  • I didn't even KNOW there was a Genesis version. The digitized graphics were clearly made for a much higher color depth, and the scale of the characters is reduced dramatically for the Genesis port. I mean, you might as well be playing it on the NES at this point.

  • I GOT PIT FIGHTER

  • Glad I subscribed to this!

  • I never knew this was at the same time as street fighter II. I thought it was much earlier.. But I always loved this game at the arcades. Having these photo realistic characters back then was just amazing.

  • i love this game

  • This has to be the first Arcade game I ever did.

  • i had a lot of fun with this game on my amiga and to be honest the amiga version was the best ha good times

  • Loved this game as a young lad. Still play it today (Arcade version) on my home MAME cabinet (I built myself)

  • A buddy of mine actually had this game. And no,he didn't buy it...his mom did,for no damn reason.

  • hey i miss this game so much

  • lmao at the end.

  • I GOT MY CHEESE BACK!!!! YA!YA!YA! : )

  • I cant believe you reviewed this ass of a game! My friend at work was just talking about this game

  • wow I had this on my Amiga and loved it - then i discovered Mortal Kombat and never went back - nice review.

  • i had this game

    really enjoyed playing it lol

  • Dear god, the graphics on the home versions sure looked worse than expected :D

What a mess! Even the arcade version had it´s faults quality wise since all the digitised footage in the game probably ate up most of the memory leaving almost nothing left for the music, which almost sound as bad as something on the intellivision ;)

  • 0:56 'The Humungus' from MadMax 2

  • HORRIBLE sounds, lol

  • i sah this game in a store for snes, gave it a wierd look, and got mortar kombat 3....

  • Mortar Kombat? Must be some weird pirate game...

  • Bad choice. All allied mortars were way overpowered in that game.

  • Did you also see Pir Fighter ;)... MortaR Kombat sounds awesome :)

  • its yust a typo...

  • i have this game still on my megadrive in my room hehe

  • When I saw this in the arcades, the little video clips look like workout videos instead of the introductions of the fighters.

  • lol after the special move the character taunted and the opponent had already stood up again.

Want the last person called ultimate warroir on this

  • Looks a bit....

  • love the reference from your old episode lol

  • All you have to do is shout "I've got Pit Fighter... and the party gets started" LOL!!!!! you are too damn funny bro :D

  • looks stupid as hell

  • Add me to the list of people who loved this game in the arcades. The Genesis version is somehow even more special.

  • I would LOVE to see a review over the Jaguar controller WHEN USED with Best Electronics' 2600/7800 adapter cable.

Yes, it can be adapted to the 2600/7800, if you can get one of these adapters, please show ti off! I feel the Jag controller was one of the best ever, and I want to make YOU think this, too!

Please try it with a 2600 or a 7800, see the difference!

  • OMG! I remember this game back in the day! Holy crap hahaha, this game was awesome when it came out!

  • I had this on the Atari Lynx, and I -loved- it.

  • I to have the Lynx version, the graphics are pretty good as far as Lynx games go, but the game itself isn't that good at all, it really isn't.

  • Yeah, the game sucked, but me being a little kid? I was addicted.

  • Guardians of the hood!!! Lol amazing! I used to play this game a lot at the arcades. It has similar graphics to Pit Fighter (I think it used the same engine)

  • Always impressed that I am not the only one that knows of some of these games and along with that Kasumi Ninja (or however its spelled) on the Jag vs. this is too much awful for me not to buy after all I am considering getting Castlevania Judgment and that *shudders* Mad Dog Mcree Trilogy for my wii ... because I have no taste in games like that .

    Aberran

  • Awesome review - I want this game ^^

  • Oh dude! I have this game on SNES. But it seems to have more of the "so bad it's awsomeness" on the Genny. The SNES one is just PLAIN bad. I have to track down the Sega version fo sho!!

  • O lord...I got a copy of Kasumi Ninja in the basement from a garage sale that sold boxes of games. XD

  • So completely awfull it's amazing? The word you're thinking of is "blagorious".

  • AHAH I WAS ALWAYS KATO!

  • same here you made my night. its funny how we feel the same way about a lot of genesis games.

  • the game that made the kessel run.....

    brilliant

  • lol i had this on the snes, aw good times

  • oh man i remember this game. Used to play the hell out of it at the arcades LOL

  • 2 words: SHAQ FU!
