  • Propaganda rulez!

  • ....well,but this tune with no doubt equals the quality of fgth best tunes too..

  • 26 years ago-so unbelievable

  • every time i hear this it yakes me way back to the good days...fab

  • this brings back good memories of being in my first year of secondary school.

  • the first cut won't hurt at all.......masterful synthpop

  • Lol I want to marry the tamborine player..............don't care how old she is .....she is gorgeous ....lol

  • this track is making a come back ...lol

  • I remember the song but don't remember the band,or that they were German. Good song though.

  • Quality tambourine there. Its awful!

  • @MuntjacMan He's joking like he always does. He meant that she looked good and its the best tamborine player he's ever seen. Being a bit sarcastic. You don't see many tamborine players ..

  • Those look like swastikas suspended above her head, wonder if someone at totp was taking the piss, this being a german band?

  • @sonnythetwit

    problem Jewboi?

  • Great music and lyrics afer all these years - usually on full blast while belting up the road at full speed... gets the juices going

  • Didn't Steve Jansen from Japan play drums on this track?

  • @hangoverlad no, david sylvian played on 1 track on the album.

  • classic

  • l like the hot blonde in the white dress

  • Love her voice, love her accent, and I lover her conk.

  • I have had this tune in my head for ages..... could never find it, but thanks to Blancmange, hey presto.....

Agree, classic pop. Music today is, how can I put it, largely, sh*t.

  • perfect pop

  • one of my favourites! thanks for posting

  • 25 years ago.. wow

  • ha! forgot these guys, saw them at the Astoria in London in 85 or 86, one of the first gigs i went to - with a mate and his dad!

  • @ineabriate astoria is closed now like all london live music venues . the great years here are over . london is dead as shit now.

  • somebody please help me to get the best of videos or best of dvd or any live performances from propaganda in HQ PLEASE!!

  • were they english?

  • @stevent60 German.

  • Still to this day, this remains one of my all time favourite songs. It was an absolute travesty that it only reached no. 21 in the UK charts. I have both the 7" and 12" versions.

  • i didnt take my ipod on my half marathon in Amsterdam back in 2008, and wanted some music half way round so i put this on my mobile phone's speakers... I had a posse quickly and one german guy seemed to get really energised, kept up with us a while singing in a german accent , and put his foot down and never saw him again!

So i would definately say its inspirational!

  • Claudia was such a fuckin' dame!

  • In a strange kind of way she's very attractive !!?

  • this song is great

  • 20 year apart but same comment. I remember simon bates going on about the percussionist as did Steve Wright . :-/

  • Tellement bien... : )

  • that blonde is real cool

  • i blare this out in me convertable and get the most strangest looks but i dont care i luvvvvvvvvvv this tune lol

  • @k3llz67 aaawww shucks ! it must be as old as me then !!! x

  • @k3llz67 good for you, you have great taste. me & my best mate have this on every saturday afternoon on the jukebox down our local football club, it's the story of our lives!

  • : ) Trop bien, comparé à la merde que l 'on entend de nos jours...

  • Comment removed

  • totally agree with the last comment! music is CRAP lately! bring back the 80's i say.

  • yes, bring back 80s music! but not the clothes... :-))

I wore that shite at that time, and it still makes me writhe.. ;-)

  • @wetbear1968 No good god, PLEASE bring back the clothes. This decade is so drab. People need to be more eccentric and wacky. Too many sweatshirts and backward hats nowadays...

  • this song is just so so foooking great ,, classic that will never been forgotten unlike the crap out now

  • she was married to "laughing boy "morley but bombed him when he started fucking talking

  • great song but what a bloody awful outfit. looks like my grannies housecoat.

  • it was the 80's ..... look further than that visuals....

  • the 80s was all about visuals!

  • lol...i love Propoganda, but that made me laugh

    :)

  • is she married to paul morley?

  • She was and they had a baby but she dumped him for that guy fromOMD

  • HOW VERY ROMANTIC Paul was probably left sobbing.

  • tune

  • why do i feel like punching the twat doing the commentarys face in ???Propaganda over Frankie ANYDAY

i play Propagandas albums in the car all the time m47

  • I was going to say that's because you are a 20 year old man and very passionate. Then it dawned on my that is it Steve Wright who is talking. Please smash his face in if you have the chance.

His talent for being annoying trancends all known boundaries of time and space. I'm a very calm person but I scream myself hoarse if I have to listen to Mr. Wright for more than 2 seconds.

I'm really happy to come across someone who perhaps knows how I feel at last!

    Propaganda. Awesome!

  • pure pop. loved it then, loving it more now.

  • Has anybody else noticed this version was edited for top of the pops and the Radio one chart show. The instrumental break at 2.26 was chopped in half. Probably to save time

  • Shame on them - the instrumental break is awesome!! This is an absolute classic - 80's electro pop at its best!

  • Didn't Claudi Brucken marry Paul Morley??

  • Yes, I think she did.

  • Don't know why this did'nt have a better chart position at the time, top tune & both are luvvly laydeeez!!! Ta dusty82!

  • and Mick Hucknall

    allegedly

  • I meant Steffi in the mid-late '80's, when I was 14, and she looked totally gorgeous ! (before Andre-flipping-Agassi came along !!)...

  • I agree with AjaxSalamis. they are hubba hubba!!

  • I think she's lovely. Give me her over Girls Aloud anyday, at least she looks like she has some character!! Check out the video for this, the other girl (on tambourine) is stunning!

  • Sorry, I meant "ronaldjansen", who is actually Dutch, apologies all round!

  • Ok, you gotta a good point going there with her voice..cuz it's amazing, for real. But, thank GOD the 80s fashion is now a thing in the past, she looks spooky on this vid. Cheers.

  • Beauty certainly is in the eye of the beholder. I think Claudia was very sexy. She also looked droolworthy in Dr. Mabuse video.

    Other females with larger noses who were equally sexy;

    1. Steffi Graf

    2. Barbara Streisand

    There are probably many more.

  • Steffi Graf is well fit.

  • Yeah, Andy. Out of the three I mentioned I think Steffi is the one I wa'.. I mean fantasize about the most.

  • Thank god, thought it was just me. The girl from Fuzzbox had a bignose, she was fit too.

    Steffi Graf was hot

  • I agree, raahead, fuzzbox were all worth one. You can imagine Claudia from Propaganda really going for it in the sack though.

  • Oh yes, especially the spiky haired blond drummer.

Stop it, its getting a bit Frankie Howerd now ha ha

  • No, shes not bad looking at all! I think she looks a bit like UK actress Haydn Gwynne.

    Wonder where Claudia is now???

(see also the proper video by "swedewithanaccent" for more serious comments!)

  • "...Not exactly a looker, was she?..."

how dare you sir! i'll have you know my teenage self was madly in lust with claudia brücken [for lo, tis she] and i have the wrist muscles to prove it!

[mind you, i do have a strange fetish for girls with big noses]

  • Quite right sir. The expression "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is spot on. If all the girls chased the same kind of guy then blokes like me with no chin, a big nose and short-sighted would never get a look-in. Hell, what am I talking about. I havent got a chance any way.

  • Very amazing!

  • Is that you Morrissey? It sounds like you and even looks like you (a little).

  • Not exactly a looker, was she?

  • OMG I happened to hear this song once back n 1985 or so and i happened to record it.I was intigued by it inmediately. Never heard it played on the radio again. It took me 15 or more years tofind it, and a few more years to have it!!!

  • saw her last night at a Human League concert. -still has a fantastic voice.

talking of cracking 80's songs how about Party Fears Two by The Associates, I'm In Love With A German Film Star by The Passions and Living On The Ceiling by Blancmange?

  • Propaganda - Claudia Brucken - These are the hidden gems of the 80's - only for the true connoisseur -thankfully it's been kept that way - kindred spirits you know who you are

  • Kindred spirit indeed !!!

Fantastic to hear it played again

Have you listened to "BROKEN LAND" by The Adventures, same era! Great song.

  • Well said. Propaganda were legends.

  • Yay P-Machine

This song still throws shivers down my spine
