Brother Palmer, my heart goes out to you. It took me 14 years to totally come out of Mormonism. It was a painful and fearful process. Christ did not come to establish an church, but to establish a kingdom. The New Testament word translated as "church" is ecclesia, meaning gathering or community. Please seek a Torah based, kingdom based church, or go to Calvary Chapel for verse by verse studies. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May he make his face to shine upon you and give you peace.

The only one and true Teaching or Religion is to be a Christian. Every other Religion is false in my eyes. Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Catholics, and all the other Christion Religions are based on the tru teachings. The problem arises when man starts to organize these teachings and the polotics come into play and then you have nothing but a man made organization that tries to implicate there beleifs and interpetations of what they think is right. I like Grant Palmer. He tries to be honest even if it means challenging things that cause discomfort within Mormonism. His heart is in the right place and if the LDS Church once to be truly Christian, they will have to change course despite the negative consequences that will occur (like with the Worldwide Church of God).

As more and more Mormons seek the Jesus of the Bible, and as God supports and encourages them, the LDS church will slowly fail.

The LDS church is a huge organization so it will linger for decades or at least until Christ returns, something which I don't think is decades away.

The Mormons I have known were good people and I know that God won't let them hang out in the wind without His mighty hand to lift them up.

It sounds like Mr. Palmer still thinks Joseph Smith is a true prophet. He wants more of Jesus in a church that is Joseph Smith based? Doubtful if that will ever happen, and even if it does, it will be the fraudulent Joseph Smith version of Jesus, not the real Jesus Christ.

Again, I agree that Jesus Christ is the center of the sacrament, not the church, not Joseph Smith, so Grant being prevented from taking the sacrament is neither good nor right. Their decision is conditioned upon their regard for Joseph Smith rather than Jesus Christ. It is church-egocentric rather than Christocentric.

Not allowing Grant to take the sacrament because of what he believes about Joseph Smith is in his case indeed an attempt to subordinate Jesus to JS, as Grant is a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Such is so also with other courageous Truth-tellers whom the paranoid, public relations puppets of the prophet pawn BS (JS) would not tolerate. And why is LDS symbolizing the precious shed blood of Jesus with water rather than wine? This is yet one more blatant example of not enduring sound doctrine.

There is no logic to your argument: if Grant has come to believe that the LDS church is no longer of God, then the sacrament would not have ay meaning to him anyways.

Precisely, because Jesus is the center of the sacrament. That Grant disbelieves the claims of Joseph Smith & yet is prevented from taking the sacrament vaunts Joseph Smith above Jesus Christ. The church has made the sacrament subordinate to Joseph Smith rather than Jesus Christ.

In short, because if you dont have a testimony of Joseph Smith (Which is asked of you by the Bishop) Then they can stop you from taking the sacrament (Which is directly connected to Jesus Christ) so thats why he says that. Hope that helps :)

A few complaints.

It is Christ, not Smith!

Remove the priesthood, forced reverence and Kings English in prayer.

Give a guy some power, and *POW*, he will create fictional stories, "like Joseph S. & Paul H.". He will brag about his magic suit that never burns. Reverence can be a funny thing. Does God need everything quiet when false prophets & apostles show up? Old style English is manditory in lds church prayer. Does this promote a personal relationship with God? Does God talk like this?

Grant, I really appreciate your honesty. My dad is just like you, a true believer in Christ, and in Mormonism, however through the years he would say as well "I'd like to see more emphasis on Christ". I agreed.

I have now left the church. I was born into it, went on a mission, and maybe I'm a bit further out than you, but I do feel for you and your journey through this. It hurts so much to be "diciplined" for having and using your brain to actually think.

I am proud of you.
