1) I was 24 (the performance was in 2001), and I think Mary (Yum-Yum) was about the same age. Doug (Pish-Tush) was quite a bit older, but it seems to me that Nancy (Pitti-Sing) was in her late 20s. Not quite college, but yes, 3 of us were pretty young. (Although it would still be another four years and change before I actually FINISHED college!)
2) This was in Seattle, and Starbucks turned us down when we asked to use their cups. Thus, SBC.
they look young enough to still be in college. If so, I'm quite impressed. I love the technique of the baritone, if only he would just taper the ends of his phrases
Pretty good on balance. I would agree that the "business" was a little bit overdone and the tempo slowish. However, better WELL sung at a slower tempo than sloppily at a fast one. I could hardly hear the tenor; his voice was rather eclipsed by Pooh-Bah's strong baritone. Agreed,Yu-Yum's voice was to die for! They could have wept a bit more, I thought.
if 'stupid' is the best comment you can give, then you really shouldn't comment at all... The composers of this show paved the way for broadway. Hell, I find basketball stupid, why bother anyone with that information?
Cute joke with the modern "tea set", but they sort of drove it into the ground. After a while it distracted from their awesome voices. However, keep posting that G&S!
Yum-Yum has a beautiful voice and I would like to see more of her. She is also a very beautiful young woman. The control of her voice is wonderful and she isn't like those horrid opera singers that the upper class people think are womderful when they actually have a horrible and nearly unbearable voice but she is a singer whose voice is pleasent to listen to. Thanks for sharing
Ah, this is my favorite scene from the operetta. It's really rare to find a good ensemble performing the Mikado these days, but these four sound great. The Pitti-Sing in particular was very good.
As Nanki-Poo in this video, a couple of points:

The voices were wonderful! The song however was taken way too slow for my tastes.

loved the modern touch, this was a topical operetta and I like to see it kept as such.
