Great job! What a way to start off a new year!

I am still going thru all the red tape for my health insurance to give me the go ahead for RNY. hopefully by the end of 2/12, Dispite some bad knee's that require surgery, I am choosing to run into my new life head on! After I get the thumbs up from the doctor, will be starting with some 5k's, 1/2 marathons & who knows? God willing, a full marathon! I want to be able to run, to feel the wind in my face, to taste freedom from the body I am in now.

Congrats!!!!! Big accomplishment! So........what ironman are you planning on? I know you are planning racine 70.3, but halfs don't count(just because it is ironman branded doesn't make it an ironman). Its exciting to watch your journey, so happy to see the complications haven't stopped you in your tracks

@shrinkingfatchick I know that a half does not make me a full, but its a start. I am doing 10 tris this season. 6 or 7 sprints, a few Olympics and at least 1 half, considering another half in September. This year is about having fun and building the endurance. Next season I will be taking on a full time Ironman coach and doing a few ironmans to hopefully in the next year or 2 after that qualify for Kona

My daughter was so excited to get to race me on our bikes Christmas morning, and at least once a week she asks when she can do races with me. Before my lifestyle was a curse on my family and now it pushes them to excel. I'm really blessed!

There are several definitions of it but they all talk about stamina, durability, patience and permanence.
