  • Final Cut X is really good, but the way it behaves deviates too far from FCP7 and more into iMovie. Other than multicam i dont miss the other features but I still find the program itself to react in a way that makes me feel i have less control over what i was doing.

  • I hope the learning curve isnt too large... I've been using final cut for over 6 years and I could care less about ascetics, hope all the changes were worth it!

  • I've never heard such nerdy screams and shouts

  • It's a complete snub to the broadcast and film industry, and a big welcome to the amateur you-tubers and prosumer crowd. To all the pro-editors; do you feel Adobe or Avid will step in to fill the void?

  • @jamieroko ---- Adobe has ALWAYS filled that void.......FCP is aimed at the amateur YouTubers who dont know shit about NLE.......Adobe is aimed at SERIOUS editors and compositers who need to get important work done

  • @Hunkola You have no idea what you are talking about. Premiere has never been an industry standard app, its currently between avid and FCP....compositing? Adobe dont make a compositing software...they make AE which is a motion graphics application that does an ok job at basic compositing...apple used to own the most used compositing software too until they decided to discontinue it (shake) these days you fusion or nuke tend to be fast growing industry leaders.

  • @sacredgeometry --- Adobe Premiere has been around a lot longer than FCP......its a well-respected NLE used by amateurs and pros alike.....and yes Avid is highly-respected too......AE is indeed a compositing program that has been used in many feature films......so maybe you need to jump off the Apple bandwagon and get a clue.

  • @Hunkola It's got nothing to do with being on an apple bandwagon, it has to do with reality. You are obviously someone with very little understanding of the film industry. Go learn about it before you shout your limited knowledge. Adobe dont even call after effects a compositor because they know it would be embarrassing to compete with node based compositing packages. I love adobe products and use them in all of my projects, but pretending they are something they are not is just childish.

  • @sacredgeometry --- I'm fed up with you Apple fanboys who always act snobby and superior........Apple products are over-priced garbage and everyone knows it.......Adobe has earned the respect and admiration of the film industry and their apps have been used by motion graphics professionals for DECADES. I have friends who have made award-winning short films using only Adobe apps......so chew on that, fanboy.

  • @Hunkola I have friends and peers that have worked on multi million dollar feature films, so um...I doubt I will ever work with you in the industry, people need a capacity to learn to be proficient at things and you seem to have a deficiency in that department.

  • Thanks for uploading all these parts. From some of these comments, it seem like people bitching about Final Cut Pro X is people that has never used Final Cut Pro 7. As amazing as it is, FCP 7 is a HUGE time consumer. Things change people! Either you roll with it or you do not! This program is ahead of the game, and now I must go learn all the new stuff! Apple is all about bringing in consumers who are not pros, and with the iMovie like interface they have done just that.

  • @CenasCorner --- Of course FCP is a huge time consumer......Apple products are designed to be that way.....stick with Adobe apps if you wanna get real editing and compositing work done quickly and professionally

  • It's cheap because the program is cheap and terrible. No multi-clip editing!!I played around with it all day yesterday and it's like a step backwards AND it crashed 3 times while I did simple edits! I use an 8-Core Mac and work with programs like Boris Red, After Effects and Cinema 4D for crying out loud and those were never as buggy, because those programs cost thousands!!

Wait to get this until Apple fixes all the bugs and issues, this is iMovie Pro... not FCP

  • @digitalexposure1 ---- Well said.......pros and serious amateurs only use Adobe apps to get REAL WORK done!

  • I just ordered a brand new imac today so that I can buy this! Goodbye clunky old windows 7 and prem pro!

  • what day in june is this coming out?

  • @LivetobeEPIC They have not said yet.

    I can't wait!

  • All that for only USD299?!

  • ohhh god! so cool~

  • Amazing. Thanks for posting this. Almost feel like delaying my current project until I get my hands on FCP X!!

  • thats it, im ditching premiere pro

  • This looks amazing. Cant wait to get my hands on it.

  • @crazychristian28 Any time from this week apparently! Watch this space ;-)

  • @crazychristian28 thats what she said

  • Thank you for posting this. I was pretty skeptical reading the reviews. Now I can see first hand that this is going to be amazing.

  • @MediaWorksTV There's a lot of people that seem really skeptical about the new release... especially people referring to it as "iMovie Pro", usually with regards to the GUI. Our question is as follows: Why, for a change, can't us creatives look at something aesthetically pleasing while we work? We all much prefer this style of layout and GUI to the blockiness *cough* PC Legacy *cough* that's been inherent in nearly all NLEs for a long while now!

  • @MediaProsUK I dont think any of the complaints have been towards what has been added, i think its towards what has been taken away.
