For those who are interested in learning the science behind the Circle of 5ths, visit the virtuosoism website. There are multiple essays which show the mathematical development of the circle of 5ths and show how it progresses as a waveform.
You are correct. Fourths and Fifths are identical as a cycle. The Fourths are used more frequently. I think it is more melodic. It is used in all type of music as substitutes for route motions. Most people play it and don't even know it. Thanks everyone for the feedback. I am getting ready to release many more videos. I think I have some stuff that will be easy to learn as well as enjoy. Thank you all.
You have to first understand where your left and right hands origin is. Learn how to do the cycle with each hand individualy. Then learn together. Not forgetting that each hand is also doing inversions to keep the cluster. Noing the root of each chord and using that to cycle is the key. This is why it is good to practice and know your inversions of chords in all keys. It helps to see the scale of each chord. You must have a scale to understand how to block a chord.
Using a scale to block a chord is simple. There are usually 8 notes in a typical scale. Doe Rae Me Fa So La Ti Doe. You can replace this with 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. A typical major triad uses the 1(root) the 3 and the 5. The minor triad is 1 (root) Minor 3 (Half step down from major third) and five. And all other chords can be blocked in this way. Once you block the chord you can change the position of the the root (inversion) to keep the cluster together.
well, the circle of fifths progression is one of the most common progressions (becoming less common now) ever used in music... often composers will see how many different ways they can disguise it and find ways to stay original while using this progression... it originates from the Baroque period (bach, vivaldi) There are a few compilations of different ways people have used this progression (also you can find a metal one on youtube type "circle of fiths 3 metal")

@humandynamic Just curious, but just looking it seems like you might be play the circle of fourths. Am I wrong?
haastyle56 10 months ago
@haastyle56 The circle of fourths is identical to the circle of fifths, only the sequence of chords are played backwards.
gudpeder 10 months ago
@gudpeder oh. so he's playing the circle of fifths backwards?
haastyle56 10 months ago
@haastyle56 Yeah... Playing the circle of fourths forwards = playing the circle of fifths backwards.
Circle of fifths forwards: C G D A E B F# C# G# D# A# F C
Circle of fourths forwards: C F Bb Eb Ab Db Gb B E A D G C
