  • There is no better brand of cymbals. It all comes down to what sound you're looking for. The hating on this company or that company really needs to stop. They all make high quality products, and every drummer wants a original and unique sound, so just get what you like the sound of.

  • the last one is great

  • Great video! Just what I was looking for ;) Thx!

  • 2nd from top sounds the best.

  • Zildjian A Customs :)

  • ok so which zildjian cymbal is on the top?

  • @KMan19121 Zildjian A Custom

  • sabian wins

  • got the 16'' and 18'' xplosion crashes i like them very much... never tried the a costums live but i wouldnt trade mine.

  • A custom is way more expensive than those noobish Sabian AAX.

  • @UltraPercussion Just because something is more expensive doesn't persay make it better, i like the sound of both, but to say that a cymbal is 'noobish' :S because it is about £40 less expensive but has still sold millions of units, you're an idiot :S

  • @JamesStorey09 HUGE IDIOT!!!!!!!

  • @UltraPercussion more expensive doesnt always mean better :)

  • A custom

  • i wish i could affod these

  • Just crash the fucking cymbal you whore.

  • I like Paiste

  • Why not use both? They are both very nice cymbals.

  • Lol one of the Sabian cymbals were not an AAX, it was a Vault

  • AAX Xplosion every day, any better crashes on this planet than aax xplosion? Nope!

  • @sebbimon yep!!!! AAX XPLOSION Fast Crash.................... LOL, LOL, LOL!! JUST SHOWING A LIL HUMOR THATS ALL

  • Sabian all day but a would like to get avedis 14 hats

  • I think the Zildjian A custom is better!!!

  • also there the same company well zildjian family owns sabian

  • @AFatGypsyFanny No they don't own Sabian at all. Different companies

  • @LFooger well it says current president Andy zildjian

  • @AFatGypsyFanny Yeah one of the zildjian brothers, Andy i guess, decided to make his own company (Sabian) since the company was inherited to his brother, not him. I think the story is something along those lines.

  • @sweetness295 zildjian and sabian are the same cymbals. look it up they were brothers that got in a dispute and sabian named the cymbals after his kids first letter of thier names but the ian had to be the same a zildjian. Check it out. its true a old time drummer told me that and he was right. people who use one but diss the other are just ignorant.

  • @datdudeis2die4 I was looking that up before I saw this and you are totally right!

  • WHO THE FUCK USES THE BELL ON CRASHES?!?!?!?!?

  • @Hotstreak000 i do in some cases...

  • @Hotstreak000 I do if the crash is over 19 inches because it adds texture, you closed minded cunt.

  • @CaptainZombeh Might as well be a ride bell. lol.

  • @Hotstreak000 Nearly every cymbal has a cup or a bell. I use all areas of the cymbal for sonic possibilities. Good day, sir.

  • @Hotstreak000 people who play other types of music like Latin Jazz.

  • @Hotstreak000 i use them to give them an irriy effect

  • @Hotstreak000 people who have musical taste in cymbals

  • @thedrummiester Yeah, when the bell sounds like complete shit? Meinl Classics are tasty bells, crash bells are not.

  • @Hotstreak000 with the bell the cymbals are much more robust.. sorry 4 bad english im german ^^

  • @Hotstreak000 me :o

  • @Hotstreak000 i think a lot of a cymbals tone actually comes from the bell

  • Che, piola video, armate otros!

  • Comment removed

  • was that a wuhan s series on the ground??

  • 1:36-1:42 uuuuhhhhh which one should i hit?

  • I like a custom rezo hats but I like rud crashes and aax ridesO.o

  • ZILDJIAN FTW!!!i like sabians rides and the AAX stage hats.but i mostly use ZILDJIAN and PAISTE!!!:D

  • I don't get why people who have zildjian cymbals hate sabians, and why people with sabians hate zildjians, i think they are both great so i have a combination and i can talk on both sides :o

  • @sweetness295 Agreed, I have half and half right now. A Custom Hats & 16" Crash and a 20" Z Custom Ride. Then I have an AAX 18" China, 12" China and 18" Crash.

Both brands sound great. The only reason I'd favor one over the other is just based on price. Neither one necessarily sounds better than the other, different maybe, but not better.

  • @licensedinkaos how is the 12" mini? PLEASE RESPOND SOOOOOOOOOOOON!

  • @drummer4life2014 I actually miss typed that, I have the 14" mini. It has a quick decay and is high pitched. I use it for most breakdowns and my bigger china (18" HHX) for riding on for other parts.

  • @licensedinkaos any comparison to Matt Greiner's 12" Oriental?

  • @drummer4life2014 Unfortunately, I"ve never tried one :(

Right now, my setup is: 13" Zildjian K Custom Hybrid Hats, 18" Zildjian A Custom Crash, 10" Saluda Mist Splash, 15" Sabian HHX-Treme Crash, 18" Sabian HHX China, 20" Meinl Byzance Traditional Heavy Ride, 16" Zildjian A Custom Crash & 14" Sabian AAX Mini Chinese.

As you can see, I got rid of the 18" AAX, it was way too harsh for my ears. I now use the HHX, which is a bit lower pitched and tame, but I still use a moongel on it for ring.

  • @sweetness295 I'm a Sabian guy, and I don't hate Zildjian, but I'm not a fan. They don't have many cymbals i like the tone of. But they do have some good sounding models. i like darker cymbals, and i think that the HH and HHX sound better than the K and K Custom, but that's just my opinion. Oh. And lets not forget my 19" Fierce Crash <3

  • @MGabriel7767 HEY i feel the same way, i don't hate Zildjian, They just have too much consistency with their cymbals, and not enough versatility. If I get an 18" HHX Ozone, and you go buy one, we going to sound the same, you'll know it the same mode, but not the exact same sound, and I've noticed that that's not the case with Zildjian, my opinion.

  • @sweetness295 very true. i was strictly a zlidjian guy until recently, both companies offer good products its good to be open minded

  • @sweetness295 yes you can, but truth be known, and you may already know, but the creators of both brands are Zildjian brothers or family. In my opinion, Sabian were created because of a dispute of the mixes and spreading out so many different cheaper models, for profit objectives. Sabian wanted to MAKE cymbals that all levels of drummers can be catered to, so think about it like this, when you start to play , you are a beginner(B8-B8Pro) only one time. if you get better, you are an intermediate

  • @studkick drummer(B8Pro-XS20) only once. Keep playing you become advanced(AA, AAX,-HH,HHX), and if and when you elevate and become pro you can use all of the series to be honest. I've only had one Zildjian cymbal in my life, and the will be the only one, and that was an A Custom, which is made like the AAX, so to be able to put them up side by side to do a comparison, but from the sound of this video SABIAN BLOWS THE OTHER BRAND OUT THE WATER.

  • @sweetness295 I just don't buy zildjians, because Sabians are manufactured in Canada. Being that I live in Canada, aside from the pride aspect, the Sabians are much, much cheaper. Retail price for the 18" AAX-plosion crash I have is almost $500, but usually goes for around $250, I got mine for exactly $185

  • @sweetness295 I do agree that both companies make good cymbals, but I think sabian quality control has remained good, unlike zildjians. I can probably find a couple good sabians for every good zildjian when I go to a music store. Also sabian is very innovative with their designs so I like that.

  • I like how u hit the bell as if people ride on a crash....(note the sarcasm)

  • @kingjd719

a lot of people do ride on their crashes like me, it gives a good contrast to my pingy ride!

  • @ThePretender94 Depends on the size for me...Most crashes i use are small so i don't do that

  • i dont know if i should go with aax plosion or aa medium thin...

  • oh, and this cymbals are:

    A custom crash 16

used A custom projection crash 16

    AAX Xplosion crash 16

    A custom crash 18

    Vault crash 18

    AAX Xplosion crash 18

  • As many of you guys are saying, for me talking about crash cymbals, AAX owns A custom, but K custom its just like an orgasm.

For ride I think the Zildjian A custom Sweet ride is the best of all with Zildjian mastersound hi-hats

  • @zombiepaki94 AVEDIS sweet ride, not A Custom.

  • @zombiepaki94 i think the brilliant sweet ride is much better as a crash though than a ride... it has SO much wash

  • paiste.

  • In my opinion i liked the sound of the Zildjian cymbals better and i always have. its just the kind of sound you like it doesn't haft to do with one company being better than the other its just your preference.

  • aax beats a custom, but k custom beats all, in my opinion

  • THEY SOUND THE SAME CAUSE THERE MADE THE SAME WAY

  • i think Zildjian is too rude in comparsion with Sabian

  • Sabian over Zildjian...

  • I prefer Sabian, The messed up thing is; ten out of the fourteen I own are zildjian! There's no Sabian dealer in Windsor!

  • they all sound good except for the top 2

  • im sorry but i have to say a customs sound like shit to me

  • sabian and zildjian are very good. but at the time i have to buy a cymbal, i always end up buying sabian

  • what is the middle one?

  • I'm a Sabian guy..

the AAXplosions were made to compete with Zildjian's A custom Projection Crash.

    HHX - K Custom

    HH - Zildjian K

    AAX - A Custom

    AA - Avedis Zildjian

    Vault - Zildjian fX

  • @payableondrummer thanks for the info, very appreciate...could you tell me please if the aax studio are brighter or darker, thinner or thicker than the aax-plosion (not fast) ones? many thanks

  • @payableondrummer idk about a vaults being made to compete with FX though

  • @tbwannab they werent- the vault series is the name given to sabian's line of signature cymbals, like the jojo mayor fierce line or the mike portnoy max stax (though the paragon series is neil pert's whole sig. line), while fx is zildjan's group of odd cymbals like the sprial, the trash splash, and the 20" crash of doom

  • @payableondrummer

i am a sabian guy too and i would compare the AAX to the Z Customs or Z 3's!

  • @payableondrummer Paragon - Z custom

    APX- ZHT

    B8 Pro - ZXT

    B8 - ZBT

  • @Katsumerisfun Paragon would be more like the A's or A Customs, too, since it's got AAX lathing on top, AA lathing on bottom, and a hand hammered bell.

  • @payableondrummer , and Sabian Paragon, Apx and Signature ?????

  • @payableondrummer hey man seems like you know your cymbals, but that is a very good comparison. Like cars and soft drinks, something compares to the other, thanks to to copyright laws to force us to be different, we would not have these amazing choices to pick from.

  • I'd love to hear a K series Zildjian fast crash in the comparison, All the rest of mine are A customs, but I've heard some great sounding Zildjian Ks and AAX-xplosions recently.

  • idk, i started liking zildjian first, till my drum teachers cymbals were sabian, and i think i like them better.

  • sabian all the way better tone.. darker and effective bright sound.. a custom too much bright

  • @imabitch4u and not to mention they don't last even half as long as the aax series

  • Both series are great, each one of them are probably the most popular from the two companies company.

    Question is:

    Bright or Explosion?

  • @647826693 fuckin ESPLOSHUN

  • Very nice video. I think the downer Sabian is a 21"?
