M249 SAW Paintball Ion marker

Hey Oily,

I just checked the sft o-ring, ordered new eyes, cleaned the reg. Still having issues. I was just thinking. I didn't add the line that connects the eyes. I figured that because it's feeding from the bottom, the eyes wouldn't be needed. That couldn't have anything to do with the drop off, could it? I mean it still fires full auto, it just has the drop off.

Well, the chronograph is showing that the first shot is at 350, and then there's a huge drop off. I put in that that L7 tech t bolt. The guy at my shop told me the stock bolt might actually better for my set up. Couple questions:

1. Did your para setup with the remote line have a major drop off? Or did it shoot consistent on full auto?

2. What do you think of the new rap 4 ( I know you're not a big fan) AG1 Gen2 Air Regulator, and do you think it could solve my issue.

1.Haven't noticed any drop off tbh.Try the following,Lube and clean the reg. Change battery with a good quality 9V.Check your detents for wear. Raise your dwell.(This info was taken from the Ion owners forum)

Have you a QEV fitted?

2.Haven't used the RAg4 reg so can't comment but if your after a reg try a Palmer,alweays read good reviews on these

Hey Oily,

My Para m249 has been working well. Just one question. I used your model with the remote line on the para stock. I'm noticing a big drop on full auto. My first shot is around 350 and every shot after is about 250fps. Any idea how I can improve the consistency? I was wondering if there was a way to move the regulator closer to the gun, instead of the end of the remote line. Would that make a difference? Thanks man.

@Biggielance21 Try looking at your remote line,maybe swap with someone to see if it improves as some types can be restrictive.

I'd go for a lathe as you could do most jobs on it,drilling and turning etc.Then when funds allow a drill press.

Fun, but at 3K a pop I'd rather get a real MAC-10 or something. Also, nice vid, but editing is definately in order. I'm getting tired of vid titles that promise but in the end just show one angle of a guy doing something. Wanna make a good vid? Pause the cam, show us an over the sholder view of a wall being "repainted" and a birds eye of loading. I yawned watching the approach the camera, shuffle around off screen, return to load bit. Hey darme how are the paintballs fed in? Is there a hopper i can't see or did you put some system in the magazine. Me and my brother are going to make a custom pkm and are trying to figure this out.

I used a Reloader B feed unit in this boxmag.I'm now using a Pulse feed unit because of the RF chip,it makes it a lot easier than trying to extend the microphone off the Reloader B circuit board.

Awesome darme!! I've been constructing my own Saw using your model. I just bought the 20 inch barrel for the ION. It doesn't fit through the external parts of the airsoft saw. Did you have to widen the inside of some of those parts. I wanted to check w/ you before I attempted something that could cause permanent damage. Thanks!

The bps was set at around 20 but since turned it down to a more reasonable level of 12bps!!The original boxmag held close on 600 but i've since made it smaller,it now holds around 250.

All I have to say is..... THIS IS FAKE.... For an M249 squad automatic weapon, there are no shells flying anywhere, hardly any smoke, absolutely no visible recoil and if you don't believe any of that, firing any automatic weapon in bursts of 10+ secs is not only dangerous, but will warp the barrel. Thats why we Marines carry an extra detachable barrel. It would be nearly impossible to sustain firing for as long as he does. FAKE! FAKE! FAKE! What an asshole.
