I just got my F4u from Nitroplanes. I was wondering if you could post a video of where you put all the wires. Or do you just bunch them up behind the battery? Thanks
@ranthm Not a problem ranthm I'll have that video coming today, since that is my next step after installing me separate UBEC with separate lipo. I never throw wires in sloppy, to many wires that are hot run power in a pulse pattern, this can cause serious RF interference so I devide my wires in a certain way every time. I'll cover that. stay tuned. Also good question another much overlooked detail that cost people planes.
I hadn't flattened my prop hub halves, but will now. Using a DuBro prop balancer, I found that the hub itself was out of balance. I fixed that by by taping progressively heavier screws to the hub. When I got the one that balanced it, I screwed it in to the backside of the hub. I did the same thing with the 3-blade hub you can get from PW-RC. Another tip: weigh each blade individually. If you can get all 4 the same weight, great. If not, put two the same weight opposing each other.
Hi there, it is an nice plane but 2 of my boddies told me the 90° turning retracts are not without problems. If you use them on a nice runway they are fine i guess but if you use them on a grass fields they tend to malfunction. It seems to have something to do with the forces during landings, all the force goes thru the struts right into the wormdrive, so either the worm-axis gets bent or the thread gets damaged after a few landings at least thats what happens with the earlier models- nice vid
Good move to balance the hub...At the factor they slap these together too fast and something is always off...I did hear how some guy's were breaking hubs on nose-overs...
