"Reinvention" is a marketing man's word for changing according to current fashion. Wasn't it 'Spinal Tap' that went through all the temporary fashions of the 60s/70s? Not for musical reasons but just trying to make some money.A great band 'develops' ie builds on what they has done to create something better than before. U2 weren't keeping up with others - they were a band that others had to keep up with!
