@crackedout123 Awww man. I was really looking forward to your b.s. backtracking explanation too. The fact is you're resentful of the fact that you're here learning how to do something, and the guys telling you he learned it on his own, and you perceive that as arrogance. Those of us with less resentment don't hear it as arrogance rather that hes just telling a story of what he realized, which is all it is.

@PitchfeverAcademy Well done for missing the point entirely. You make it sound like you made this discovery yourself. Someone taught you how to do it or you found out by looking at a video or something similar. You didn't discover the pinch harmonic.
@crackedout123 Just because the only way you know how to learn is by coming to youtube and watching videos like this one, that doesn't mean everyone is bound to those same shackles. Believe it or not some people are able to sit down and figure things out on their own through perseverance, even if 1000's of others figured it out before him. To live in a world where not only do you lack that ability, but even reject that the ability exists is really sad.
@mschonert7 congratulations for being the third nerd to not understand the point of what i was saying. im not gonna bother trying to explain it this time you wannabe intellectual.
@crackedout123 that's bs. somebody can show you something, but then you have to try and experiment to find the right way you have to move your hand. at the end you actually realise how the thing work.
@woshushe again missing the point. You are right; but that is not the case. I am stating the sense in saying that he realised in such a way as to claim he was not taught it and came across it on his own. He may well have done in all fairness but there's no need to sound so arrogant.
I do it the other way and I looooooove it! But can't wait to try this way too! I wanna play welcome home by coheed and Cambria playing the harmonic like you! Thx for the great help, ur really talented. Love the trill lesson!
this helped me out alot.. i have a part in one of my bands songs where everything gets quiet and i bend one pinched harmonic.. and i used to fuck it up like 8 out of 10 times, and it was really embarrassing .. but thx to you :) it's fucking fixed... im starting to develop somekind of man crush on you
Thanks so much! I played a stratocaster and i had pinch harmonics on lock. The i bought an ibanez and i couldnt seem to get them, then i saw this video and i got them down again in less than five minutes. I owe it all to you thanks man!
I was doing it the "other" way. The only way I thought possible until I saw your vid. Thank you so much for sharing this! I have been practicing these for months and sometimes I would get them and sometimes not. Your way I get them everytime.
I was also told to rotate my thumb into the string! That sometimes worked but not always. Thanks again!
3:13 introduction to ecstasy of gold ^^ tnx man, had a great time to your videos!! greetings from Philippines, .btw i subscribed into your channel d=)
Dude,I was literally on the of merxy of the pick before I saw your lesson, like please work!Your lesson was great and I got them instanty after your lesson!
i do my pinch harmonics different, but i find it hard to get them on higher frets, i can get them on frets 1-4 on any string but i want the higher ones alot. and i hold my pick a little different, i find it more comfortable to use my middle and pointer finger against my thumb instead of just the pointer, so i get more support. your tremolo lesson taught me greatly :)
could you give me a few more pionters on pinch harmonics, i am having a lot of dificulty with them. i can do them but they are extreamily weak to the point that you barley hear anything.
dude you can really shread... i love it, the way you teach this makes it soo easy to learn. by the way i would love to know what kind of guitar you are using. i love the way it sounds.
@PitchfeverAcademy I dont mean to come across rude or anything but perhaps people would be interested in the Paul Gilbert technique "Trill Bending" ie. say you perform a trill from the 12th fret to the 15th fret and keep hammering on and pulling off (trilling) you bring your right hand up behind your left and give the string a slow bend, just thought i would bring it up as he does it again on the new Mr. Big album, also thanks for your Harmonic Slide video, was lost on that technique, keepitup=]
awesome dude!!! quick question. cause i play fairly low on the pick from were i first learnt to play a and i get a good pinch harmonic and wiggle the string to get the squeal is that a good way to do it cause i find it hard to grip the pick the way you show or does it matter or is it just technique??????
awesome dude!!! quick question. cause i play fairly low on the pick from were i first learnt to play a and i get a good pinch harmonic and wiggle the string to get the squeal is that a good way to do it cause i find it hard to grip the pick the way you show or does it matter or is it just technique??????
@PitchfeverAcademy Hey i am a new viewer and have been playing for 10 years , I almost always hit pinch harmonics with my middle finger, as i hit the note my middle finger kind of claws round it and it has worked and i can do them very effective (zakk wylde effective) and just wondering is there any advantage to adjusting the way i perform them to using the thumb?
all i can say, is THANK YOU!!, i was struggling with this, please keep doing this, can you please post a video on sweeping, your approach to teaching is really good, comfortable and helpful, thanks dude for doing this
These are some great video lessons. I love seeing the techniques explained so well. Can you give some insight on your amp and settings? Are you playing a custom 24? Also I noticed you riff without using your pinkie. Is that because you get better vibrato that way? I play with my pinkie but I notice a lot of players who only use 3 fingers and maybe I should relearn that way.
@BrainFreezeEnt I typically use a Marshall set up or a Peavey Classic 30. For this video we're just going through a Johnson Pre. :) I've used my pinky since day one so I'm just used to it but I'm so glad I did. :)
@PitchfeverAcademy Yeah, like i`l play it over and over and over and over until i hear that ping but then it just sounds really bad, i never palm mute when i try, i always bend the string. . i just cannot figure out what i`m doing wrong. ):
@FragileApparatus69 start with the fat strings, once you hear the harmonic let it ring out as long as possible. All you're basically doing is picking the string and then touching it with your thumb. People try to make it complicated but that's really what's going on. :) We can do an online lesson if you want. Let me know.
@PitchfeverAcademy I like the lesson idea, but i`ve NEVER had a lesson, so i'l pratice a little longer at it cuz i learned how to do harmonic`s on 1'st string 12th and 14th fret, but if it gets to the point where i get annoyed and NEED to do it, that'd be awesome. :D
if ur still having trouble with this, anyone, a actually sand down my pick and make it shorter, so my knuckle is closer to the string in the first place. it also makes lots of other guitar techniques easier
thank you man your videos are awesome, i learn a lot from them, good work
