Hi FilozofXX, I'm glad we can have these discussions between 2 motorcyclists. Maybe there are some riders who are dissapointed that the Multistrada doesn't meet their off-road expectations. I'm sure it will meet and exceed my expectations for any environment I take it into, which may include dirt roads. 90% of my riding is done on pavement. Enduro may be included in the bike's features, but clearly the tires are meant mostly for pavement. I guess there are amazing off-road routes in Bolivia.
@2WheelEscapeArtist: It is a motorbike that has no real use on off road or travelling on bad roads. That is the reason why is pussy bike. It is (would be) driven mostly, by guys who are "wanna be" adventure bikers... Ducati could also made the same bike with no off road potential... O wait, they already did that! :) I know this trough my 26 years of motorbike (mostly off road and travelling experience) and comparing it with KTM Adventure or GS 1200 A.
@FilozofXX Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I don't think Ducati ever envisioned this bike spending hours off-road or on bad roads, otherwise the brochures would have included that environment. It could however survive a few unplanned miles of gravel. Most of my riding pals don't fancy themselves to be "adventure bikers", even the ones who own GS 1200's. Where's the line seperating "real" from "wanna be" adventure bikers? I don't think Ducati is trying to bullshit you. Hope we can continue this.

Maybe were my expectation wrong, as I waited for the bike to came out. Especially when I heard about low weight and high engine capacity combined with its high durability. I think they could developed this bike more in to off road. Especially if we know that Ducati has no lack of "crem de la crem" street bikes...
