Ach ja ich hab die Filme geliebt. Diesen hier und den mit den Kängurus habe ich auf Video. Fand es immer klasse, zwischen Zeichentrick und echten Bildern, sehr schöne Filme zum Nachdenken.
thanks so much for uploading this .... but im not gonna watch it now ... for me this movie was beautiful but extremely sad and traumatic (poor whales ... i love them so much because of this film) ... i will watch it when i'll be psychologically prepared ... thanks to the australian people who created this educational movies .... greetings from Ecuador
OMG Im from Germany and Ive watched this as a child, we had it recorded on VHS but it got lost...never found it in the internet, and now its here OMG Im shivering
This movie scared me so bad as a kid! Used to watch it all the time too. Think I may still be scared of the ocean because of it. The intro alone makes me feel like I'm going to die.
This movie scared me so bad as a kid! Used to watch it all the time too. Think I may still be scared of the ocean because of it. The intro alone makes me feel like I'm going to die.
Oh my God! I remember I had to have been at the most 4 years old and saw this movie I don't know if it was in Germany or San Francisco but I never forgot it! I am 24 years old now and found it by typing "Mother Sea" lyrics and discovered it was featured in this film. Ah, the good ol' days!
Its no wonder I'm studying to become a zoologist. After being raised on all this Dot stuff.
This movie actually made me afraid of the ocean, which for an Australian child, is a healthy fear (so long as one doesn't become irrational. Beaches are fine, but always beware).
i dont know if this is the movie im thinking of but if not does anyone know of the animated whale movie of a baby whale who gets separated from its family and has to go through an oil spill and almost dies in the process and such?
cool! I was 6 or 7 when I saw this movie. my grandmother taped it off of cable, but the first 15 minutes or so were missing. finally, I can see the whole story.
that dolphin sounds like Obi Wan Kenobi...
I always thought Moby Dick was a bit of a jerk for telling Dot that if Tonga wants to die, then she should just go die.
search for an episode of Selab: 2021, called "Waking Quin", whenever I see it, I am reminded of this movie. I love the sureality of it all (this movie, that episode, etc...)
I have been searching for this for years! i used to watch this so many times as a child. OMG u have no idea how happy i am to see this, crazy memories and feelings r coming back to me. its been around 15 or more years since ive seen this
@IslandGTR I feel the exact same way!!! I must have been around 4 or 5 when I saw this movie, I used to watch it all the time with my mom. I am now turning 27 next months, and it's weird because I just went to a store and found the Dot & The Kangaroo dvd for $1!!!!! So I came home and searched for the other Dot movies and found all of them. Gotta love YouTube!!
I can't believe how happy I am to have found all this, brings back soooooo many memories and feelings, just like you said! Love it!!!
This is a favorite movie of mine since I was a child. I love the songs. Movie's like this one, Dot and the Kangaroo, the Bear and Benji shaped me into becoming an enviromentalist and animal lover. Thanks for posting and bring back good memories.
This was the first of the "Dot" films I ever saw. I didn't even know about the others until earlier this year (thank you, internet!). "Dot and the Kangaroo" and "Dot and the Whale" are my favorites.
As a kid I LOVED movies where cartoons meshed with the real world!! Pete's Dragon and Dot & The Kangaroo were my favorites! I didn't know she met a whale!!!! I'm sorry I missed this one!
this came out the year i was born, i wish the sound quality was better my sound system is turned all the way up and i can't even make out what there saying.
What funny here is that "Dot and the Whale" was released the same year as the "Save the Whales" campaign of 1986, along with another such film "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home", and when Johnny Carson hosted the Oscars that year he quipped, "I'm all for saving the whales and I'm opposed to whacking baby seals on the head with clubs".
omg no one in my group has ever heard of dot and her adventures..i grew up with these shows so i was so happy when i got the entire boxset on dvd. great job for posting this
oh sorry just realised its prob just an aus store. Its a major electronics store sells games dvds tvs sound systems etc. so try a store like that in the us
