Marc B. Ray did a lot of things that weren't done before. You have to understand that for an early 70s film this is pretty gory. It was a brave idea hiring two unknowns to be the leads, who gave pretty damn decent performances considering that it was both their first film. This movie created a vulnerable villain which makes the plot unique. Instead of the scary monsters in most horror flicks, you get a disturbed boy who you wouldn't expect to be a murderer. It's a horror movie that doesn't take

The film was originally released as Scream Bloody Murder in 1973 and re-released under the title The Captive Female in 1974. This is a teaser for the re-release. I try and post the most accurate info I have on these trailers and cross-check them with whatever IMDB has to offer. This one matched up on both accounts and as it turned out it was released yet again in 1975 under a different name. Haven't been able to nail down that trailer yet but still looking.

Ok maybe I was exaggerating when I said about the torture but there are maybe one or two rape scenes but there not that bad by today standards. The most entertaining part of the entire movie is the part where he says "easel" about 35 fucking times!
