DAMN! 8:00 blade loses his stick. transfers stick to other hand. smacks the shit out of the drums with the lone stick. transfers stick to initial hand. grabs a new one. then smacks even more shit of the drums after haha! this is definitely my favorite group binney plays with.
Shit, man. How come I've never heard of this guy?! He's a wild man. Blade is the man, saw him with Chris Botti a few years back. I'd like to transcribe some of Binney's fast stuff when he's gettin real free here. Great.
When are these guys going to start getting noticed in the jazz world more? Especially Binney! He has so many great albums with so many amazing compositions.
the band does do a great job of following him, but i could do with a better sax solo. I'm not saying that I could do better (cuz I can't come close), but it was just do free jazz sounding. I like that when its used in moderation, but sometimes you just need to play some swingin' 8th notes or some tasty double time.....
A terrific excerpt of amazing music from group of some of my favorite musicians.
