  • she's a wonderful person and also a great actress.

  • Rest in peace Eartha Kitt, the millions of fans you have love you deeply!

  • such a wonderful lady, just a real shame she was not excepted when she was younger, hopefully she is now at peace r.i.p eartha kitt .....

  • Deep line " a man has always wanted to lay me down, but never wanted to pick me up" - Eartha Kitt

  • im crying watching this!! im loving this woman more and more....she is so real and raw which just adds to her beauty

  • One of the most honest and emotional interviews I've ever seen, what a fantastic lady.

  • @aprostime123: Kitt's mother was of Cherokee and African-American descent and her father of German or Dutch descent. Kitt was conceived by rape.

    That is biracial.

  • the french crying for you baby...

  • She's beautiful.. and just amazing..

Hopefully she get's her biopic film...and Janet Jackson does it justice...

Eartha told Janet she wanted her to portray her in a movie.

  • wow, that is a horrible childhood.

  • "A man? A man has always wanted to lay me down, but he never wanted to pick me up..."

My god. How profound and heartbreaking is that.

Eartha, you are beautifully divine. I pray you've found peace on the other side.

    Thank you for everything!!

  • @DamonesIsLegend that line broke my heart and had me in awe all at the same time

  • Wow---just wow.

  • Just a truly Amazing woman - The world is a much better place because Eartha was here.

  • This interview is super inspirational...Thanks 4 posting & thank you Eartha❤ R-luv

  • I find Ms. Kitt to be at her best when one hears the honest truth....what has become of honesty today....we miss you Eartha

  • 6:29 A man? A man has always wanted to lay me down, but he never wanted to pick me up.

  • terry wogan's hair!

  • "every man tried to lay me down, but none tried to pick me up."

that is such a PROFOUND statement.

  • @dayg715

sure is she was an icon and she was strong and well loved .

  • I love her. She reminds me of the Eartha May in myself. I absolutely respect her.

  • this is how people develop mental problems some worst then others. this is why the world is how it is today but Kitt was strong. Be positive. She's Phenomenal.

  • EARTHA MAE ITS ALLRIGHT _ i WANT YOU <3

  • I love her so much , I started crying during this interview , she was really amazing , I am so sorry for all that she went through :( .

  • What an amazingly honest interview. Shes incredible.

  • I have been admiring this lady for a long time, How couldnt I?

  • Thank you for posting this video interview. This is exactly one of the most honest and upfront interviews I have ever seen with Eartha. What strength and courage wrapped in all her talents combined is why she was adored.

  • actually i have done research she isn't biracial. just light skinned.

  • Thanks for posting this RomanticWeekend! I've never seen this interview and it was really eye opening. Even though I already loved her, after seeing this interview, I have a newfound respect for the "most exciting woman in the world." She was magnificent.

  • omg i understand this..

  • A lot of the things she says happened I don't doubt happened. She just seems, in many of her interviews, to be unforgiving of the people that wronged her. I hope she got over some of her bitterness and did some forgiving before she passed on so she could have had some freedom.

  • @tall32guy well if you have ever been abused the sting never goes away, she isn'tbitter she survived the best way she knows. unless you know her heart then you can't judge

  • @Aprostime123 I CAN judge and say what I said because I have been through some abuse myself, in different ways, over my years of living. And from that, I know that forgiving someone is a very freeing thing, mainly for the victim (or whatever title the person has), and sometimes even for the offender. And by the way, I saw some clips of interviews she did not long before her death and she DID appear to be jovial, kind, and an overall great woman. I think things DID change...

  • If she did not say she was biracial most people would NEVER know! Me and my husband are both quite dark skinned and our son is lighter than her! Many black people are light skinned... I am baffled as to why she was singled out by her family! I am SADDENED by the pain she has in her heart. I pray that she found the love of God in her lifetime.

  • @DaughterOfYashua she isnt biracial though. my brother is lighter than her but both his parents are black.. so

  • @Aprostime123 I strongly suggest you do your research, she IS bi-racial and was conceived by rape. She says so herself...

  • @Aprostime123 I pretty sure not every biracial person has lighter toned skin. Biracial people come in different shades; for example Halle Berry, Gloria Reuben, Lauren London, Lenny Kravitz, Mario Van Peebles, etc. Some of these people are even darker than Eartha Kitt in skin tone, and all are biracial (white + black).

  • Regardless of what people told her growing up....she was very beautiful and elegant!!!

  • i just love this lady

  • i didnt know eartha had been thru soo much, iv only ever seen her as a happy beautiful entertainer. i will have to find her book and do my home work. hope you have found happiness at rest miss kitty x

  • i LOVE her quote at 6:33 "a man has always wanted to lay me down but he never wanted to pick me up." thats very beutiful <3

  • That is the deepest quote EVER! I've felt that way many many times!!

  • How candid was that? My word, tears are running down my face...

  • Love her I'm sure she has true happiness now R.I.P Eartha

  • Eartha Kitt experienced a lot in life but I'm happy that she always had her audience. Her determination and strength will live on in her name.

  • "A man always wanted to lay me down but never wanted to pick me up." That is one of the saddest things I've heard.

  • Eartha Kitt is amazing a fantastic artist . I was upset listening to parts of this interview on how she was ubused and bullied . i adore you Eartha xxxxxxxxx

  • we love you Miss Kitt. always and forever. you were in a class by yourself. this shit had me crying.

  • She transfered allot of her emotional pain into her music and performances` perhaps this cruel past played a part in

her greatness? for her audience is her family where she could give her love and find it.

  • OMG she was a survivor, the abuse she talks about is horrible! Her stepfather must have been a terribly evil person and very dark because she is not extremely fair skinned. God bless Eartha may she RIP.

  • I am amazed! Since I've got to know her and her music,I knew Eartha Kitt was my later ego and my idol. Now I know why. She is definitely a remarkable and strong personality. And one of my greatest idols!

  • Merci beaucoup! Endless thanks for posting!

  • thank you for posting this ... intimate interview . . .

    ~ dougie in austin . . .

  • This was just amazing! WOW! I love you Eartha!

  • It's Eartha Mae....

  • very touching

  • Sad to hear this! I hope she can find piece somehow but its difficult!

  • One of those men who wanted to pick her up but never laid her down was James Dean, I think.

  • wow this really touched me....i hope she found peace

  • May she rest in peace.

  • For us biracial folk, you are an inspiration of overcoming and dealing with the inevitable issues in a divided world alongside life itself. Your memory will no longer by denied by one side or ignored by the other; it will be preserved and cherished by us.

    God Bless Eartha Mae.

  • im think im going to name my first kid Eartha May

  • Eartha is great - Wogan's a twat!

  • i love u eartha xx

  • Eartha, thank you for inspiring the human race to become firm in their beliefs, motivations and conviction. Your coming and going will certainly earn a mark in the hearts and minds of many individuals and nations. To your dear family, my gratitude for unselfishly giving you to us. I will always mention your name to my children and grandchildren. Your Santa Baby will constantly be hummed in the house as long as there is christmas day. RIP. We will sorely miss you.
