  • Great Song, Great Artist, A Legend and a truly wonderful human being who never had a bad word to say about any of his fellow performers.

  • cara isto e bom demais,from brasil...

  • I don't know, I think I got ma soul back hooooo, wow, master piece

  • He's a national treasure. Saw him at his 80th birthday party at Tipitina's. Tough ticket.

  • Love love this guy,..the great FATS DOMINO.

    So good so great,beautiful soul.

  • The Fat Man would have to be one of the faces on any Mount Rushmore of Rock & Roll.

  • I saw him in a concert way back in 1957....HE WAS GREAT THEN TOO.

  • I'm nothing

  • whenever I hear Fats Domino I get so happy inside!!

  • Not sure there is any song on the planet with as much "swing" in it. Lot of great musicians out there but few can lay back and swing. It's subtle.

  • hootayhoooooo

  • how old is he

  • My mother told me that this was my song from her. (I smile and sigh) gotta love my momma!

  • Happy Birthday, Fats Domino.

  • I can't see how there can be 6 dislikes for this video! crazy!

  • @Buddhist2k i dislike it because it doesn't last longer :) it's a real shame when it ends.

  • Fats Domino is a living legend...a true American icon and one of the original Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famers. This great tune was originally recorded on the Imperial label in 1956, and this vinyl recording still sounds the best. Has anyone in New Orleans built a statue to him yet? I remember seeing him in concert back in the 70's where he pushed the grand piano with his stomach across the stage while he was playing and singing. One of the Greats of all time! Fats LIVES!

  • Great song. This is what rock n roll is all about.

  • I can't believe that we went from this to rap . . . . . . that is not progress!

    God bless ya fats!

  • KICK

    ASS

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If only Chuck Berry had cared enough to keep a band like that together, instead of just pick-up bands. Fats gave his audience the real thing.

  • for you unwashed masses, the baritone sax player was playing the solo faithful to the original recording which was likely around 1954-55 when originally recorded. I'm sure he could have really stretched it and played really wild on the sax but Fats does his live performances as close to the original recordings as humanly possible...even the mistakes on the originals are left in the live performances. That's the beauty and genius of The Fat Man.

  • One of my R & R heroes!!!

  • Hopelijk komt Fats nog eens naar Europa voor een live-optreden !!

  • pure class

    what a joy

  • god fats uv lost weight but your still great theres no substitute for class and thats what u have

  • dominant figure of r'n'r for years .....we just love you and we will forever!

  • Fats was great, as usual, but that sure was a lame solo on the baritone sax.

  • fats at his best!!!!!

  • Of course I love music from the 50's I was a teenager. Fats and Louis were the best.

Wish there had not been discrimination back then. All teenagers loved them. i believe they were good people just like us.

  • @terrybutler14 Fat's lived in a white neighborhood.Next door to the Jacksons,a white family.Get off the discrimination trip.N.O.L.A. is just a rough place.

  • Really fantastic. Great !!

    Thnx,

  • I loved this man so much as a kid.

  • Wonderful! I stood over the piano when Domino and band played in Centralia, Wa. about 1962 He had two diamond stick pins in his tie. Several diamond rings. He sweated thru tan suede suit, changed clothes at the break and came out for a second show. He stayed at my parents' motel, so I met the manager, Mr. Brown, who took me up to shake Fats' hand and get an autograph at the break. A great memory that will live as long as I do.

  • geniale

merci pour toutes ces belles chansons

  • This is terrific. I remember seeing this when it aired. Fats sounds as good as he did on the recordings; he has a great band backing him up. Thanks for posting this

    treasure.

  • To Ftjax, yes that is bass Sax on solo. Behind him are the B-flat tenors.

  • @samlillie1 That's a baritone, not a bass, and the guy doesn't know how to play it.

  • Are there any more videos of his performance on Austin City Limits?

  • @kevykev38 Ofcours , it's on dvd & cd

  • Love that horn section....Is that a bass sax ? (man playng solo)

  • Fats is the MAN :) There is still four big living LEGENDS of Rock'n'Roll; Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. They will never stop rockin' !!

  • One of the greatest and also one of the men who helped form Hank Williams Jr's. style. Fats spent many an afternoon over on Franklin Road with Bocephus and the "Killer" Jerry Lee Lewis molding a young Rocking Randall Hank.

Keep on keeping on Fats!! You're the best.

  • Love this tune and My Blue Heaven by Fats and all the rest too.

  • Killer

  • Man-that's talent.

  • michael savage at the beginning of the week

  • Michael Sausage the hate filled hot dog!!

  • Who's that barisax player?

  • Cute, and such a charmer. Love his smile... Blue monday is my favorite song of his all the way!!

  • Superb. Love him.

  • Does anyone realize that this man has been playing Rock and Roll music longer than any living human being on earth?

He is one of the King of Rock and Roll, and way underappreciated.

  • Long live the original and tremendous rock 'n' roller - Fats Domino!

  • I don't ever recall any other performer that seemed to enjoy their job as much as Fats Domino. He is one of a kind.

  • So true !

  • His music is timeless,

  • This is the song: "Blue Monday"

  • hypnotizing

  • is this the actual name for the song cus i cant seem to find any other performances of this song when i type fats dominio - austin city limits.

  • Try putting in Fats Domino and " Blue Monday " --the name of the song.

  • I'm 62 yrs old, and I can't remember a time that there wasn't a Fats Domino!!! What a great legend!!!

  • Fats has retired....we need more R & R,

R & B entertainers like Fats, Huey Smith, Little Richard, Dick Holler, who employ horn players & medium size bands. N'orleans beat will never die.........

  • @ftjax its more like semi retired he still performs now and then

  • FATS DOMINOE IS GOD!

  • he never stops smiling

  • What a great performance. This just hit the spot.

  • probably the most likeable entertainer ever, always had a big happy smile on his face.that's what gave him alot of his appeal.

  • One of the many greats from the KING FATS!

  • Could you explain the reasoning behind your judgement that this is a 'lame band'? It seems to me the band is pretty tight and gets the feel perfectly. Maybe you prefer something more stilted, whitebread, and simplistic?

  • Quando ascolto Fats Domino godo come una bestia!

  • I love austin

Very early RR and never got aired much. Saw him in person many times and he played them both for me. Was in my glory. If anyone has those I hope they will post them here, then you can all grow to love them too.

God bless this living legend of rock n' roll.

His peak was well before my time, but I love Fats Domino and this is one of my favorite songs of his.

  • Thank God we did not lose this man in huricane Katrina. He is still awesome.

  • You didn't read where he was lost for quite some time?

I sure am glad he found his way back. Actually Someone found him wandering and brought him to safety. Thank God.

  • I remember when I heard that he was missing, as well as Irma Thomas...both came out okay, thank the Lo'd

  • none of the so called rock stars of today can even remotely come close to this legendary giant!

  • that's putting it lightly

  • Feel good music !

  • awsome!

  • oh yes

  • Yes, yes, yes. He still has what it takes. Always wanted to go to NO to hear him play there in his own

enviroment. I would imagine it would be a whole lot better than seeing him perform elsewhere. I have seen him elsewhere many times. Loved it.

  • I agree. But I have never had the pleasure of seeing him! So sad...But awesome, love to hear about your experience with seeing him.
