GT5 is suffering from a lot of laziness and bugs which still were not corrected a year after launch(jaggy shadows, "meshy" trees etc...) in my opinion GT5P has better graphics than either of those two games which is more than just sad on the GT5-side...

@noriushavok the reason that GT5 took so long was because of the transition to PS3, which meant that they had to model in full 1080p, unlike forza, and they needed to master the new PS3 architecture to get the full power of the PS3 possible. Kazunori Yamaguchi said that gt6 will be released in a year or two, possibly on the PS4 which supposedly has an easier architecture to take advantage of and they already have a good system if PS4 has a similar architecture.
@noriushavok P.S. you don't get damage right away in GT5, you get it when you get to a higher level. I was playing today and my miata crashed and rolled over and just looked totaled (I'm level 31. The highest is 40)
of course GT5 is better, coz it was released 1 year after FM3. so it knew it could capitalize on FM's weakest point, one of it - graphics. So to me, comparing the 2 games is (a bit) unfair, coz 1 year in game-programming life is a long time. Don't agree with me? @Hype3rshadow You can't really say that's what turn 10 would do had they had blu ray to work with. They're 360 exclusive. They chose the easy route of choosing the simpler console to create their Forza's for. Everybody knows the PS3 is the most difficult console to work with.
With Turn 10 starting on the xbox, there's no way you can possibly say they can do what PD does. Mainly due to the fact that they also have a whopping 300 person team. If anything, Turn10 wouldn't be doing as well with PS3

@Hype3rshadow Kazunori Yamauchi has been creating GT since 1992. How the hell can Dan Greenawalt even be compared to Kaz? The bosses are how you judge the developer as a whole. Does Gay Dan race in real life? 24 hours of Nurburgring class winner? 25 hours of Thunderhill 2009? Kaz won those with his teams. Great racer Kaz is. Turn 10 sucks horrible dick. They're nothing like PD, for that I'm grateful.
@C0M0estas the bosses is how YOU judge a developer as a whole. The fact that Forza is even in competition with GT5 despite being on an outdated console proves how good turn 10 is. Shit we get 500 cars that are all EQUAL in terms of graphic fedelity. Poly made a more "releastic" approach because the PS3 can handle it. GT5 is a good simulator and a fucking horrible GAME. Forza is a decent simulater and a great GAME. Give turn 10 the PS3's power and they would rape GT5 silly.
@Hype3rshadow Like I said, Turn 10 doesn't have the 18 years of experience Kaz has. They don't have the PS3 to work with because they chose to be Xbox exclusive, while Kaz and PD has always been PlayStation exclusive since GT1 came out. He even had Motor Toon Grand Prix come out before GT1. Again, Turn 10 can't do what PD does on the undoubtedly more complex system. Mainly due to experience. PD has half the workers as well. PD doesn't outsource the way Turn 10 does.
@Hype3rshadow Give Turn 10 the PS3's power and they'd take 10 years to create a GT5. All developers say the PS3 is insanely difficult to program for, just with that, Turn 10 can't do shit with the PS3. It takes experience to program on the PS3, GT5 Prologue (2.5 years), GT5 (nearly 6 years). That's PD's first try, getting graphics, physics, and all those other never before done features are in GT5. GT5 isn't a boy's game, bottom line. Neither is it Turn 10's idea of a game. Turn10 likes gimmicks

He programmed his first game when he was in his teenage years ( I think 15) and that's when he envisioned a game that had real life cars. GT5 is better purely because it's built for the higher spec of the PS3 and because of polyphony Ds experience in the series. Forza looks a bit arcady for my liking, but it did spur on the creation of the racing line and having drivers. They are sort of the same and different games, but it all started with GT ;)...

I personally find Gran Turismo 5 to have better lighting and reflections, although Forza 3 has much more detailed cars and tracks. GT5s cockpit view is also a lot better than Forza's, but overall FM3 has the best graphics. It also has better physics and fully destructible cars as well.

Gran Turismo got GT Academy, it let gamers like us drive fast crazy cars in real life. ask Lucas Ordonez, he raced LeMans 24Hr 2011 and he and his team got 2nd in his category.

Forza 3 is way better. The cars look better, and thats ALL of the cars, not just a select few to be labeled "Premium" and the rest get PS2-level graphics. They also sound better. Every car in GT5 that's int he same class sounds the same. Every car in Forza has a different sound because they actually recorded the cars. Forza's tracks also look better. The game just looks better. Sure, GT has karts, rally, and NASCAR. karts are pointless, Rally should be left to DiRT, and NASCAR is gay. Forza wins

@ShinWR1 The only reason GT5 has Nascar is because EA didn't want to waste the money on a NASCAR game, so they sold the rights to Sony to put it in GT5. Forza has drifting as well, plus forza 4 will have multi-conditional racing (rain, snow, day, night, things of the sort.) I don't think GT5 did Rally that well. It doesn't feel like true rally racing. I'd rather buy Forza 4 for a road sim and DiRT3 for Rally racing. I just don't think GT5 lived up to the hype Sony gave it.

check my channel for top quality high definition drift videos, all sorts of cars. all the money my storefront earns, which has been 800k in the past few days has all gone on drifting, all sorts of cars you see online drifting, like scion, mazda, nissan! mostly japanese, gt is Ii Rang3z v and storefront keyword is Rang3z aware a lot of time and effort goes into these, infact im doing a setup now which is very time consuming:@
i have played both games, though i prefer gran turismo for its realism, i love forza because of its fun gameplay and solid physics engine. the engine and overall sounds of forza also far overcome gran turismo's
Lets face it.. Forza looks cartoony and plays with color correction to make it more ye candy when in truth the world isnt that colorful.. Gt5 has the correct amount of visual coloring etc but ISNT perfect. One game breaker for me is the too less steering of the wheel in forza which irritates me. Yes im a detail kind of person but im not bashing forza.
The one thing that bugs me about GT5 is the lack of detail outside of the track, there seems to be a lack of shading and detail for the scenery around the track which ruins the illusion of reality which the close-up graphics of the cars do so well. The only real reason I prefer Forza is because I can't stand PS3 controllers, too small, not grippy enough and lack of vibration makes me feel too detached from the game, but that's no fault of GT5 makers,just the console itself.

Sorry I'm guessing you read my comment as though I thought there wasn't ANY vibration, what I meant was that the vibration didn't seem to be used when it was needed and wasn't responsive enough for me. I dunno, I noticed it when I played a game of GT5 straight after a race on Forza, which is what I'm used to, so maybe I just wasn't familiar enough with it.

GT5 is suffering from a lot of laziness and bugs which still were not corrected a year after launch(jaggy shadows, "meshy" trees etc...) in my opinion GT5P has better graphics than either of those two games which is more than just sad on the GT5-side...

@noriushavok the reason that GT5 took so long was because of the transition to PS3, which meant that they had to model in full 1080p, unlike forza, and they needed to master the new PS3 architecture to get the full power of the PS3 possible. Kazunori Yamaguchi said that gt6 will be released in a year or two, possibly on the PS4 which supposedly has an easier architecture to take advantage of and they already have a good system if PS4 has a similar architecture.

@Hype3rshadow You can't really say that's what turn 10 would do had they had blu ray to work with. They're 360 exclusive. They chose the easy route of choosing the simpler console to create their Forza's for. Everybody knows the PS3 is the most difficult console to work with.
With Turn 10 starting on the xbox, there's no way you can possibly say they can do what PD does. Mainly due to the fact that they also have a whopping 300 person team. If anything, Turn10 wouldn't be doing as well with PS3

@C0M0estas the bosses is how YOU judge a developer as a whole. The fact that Forza is even in competition with GT5 despite being on an outdated console proves how good turn 10 is. Shit we get 500 cars that are all EQUAL in terms of graphic fedelity. Poly made a more "releastic" approach because the PS3 can handle it. GT5 is a good simulator and a fucking horrible GAME. Forza is a decent simulater and a great GAME. Give turn 10 the PS3's power and they would rape GT5 silly.

They don't have the PS3 to work with because they chose to be Xbox exclusive, while Kaz and PD has always been PlayStation exclusive since GT1 came out. He even had Motor Toon Grand Prix come out before GT1. Again, Turn 10 can't do what PD does on the undoubtedly more complex system. Mainly due to experience. PD has half the workers as well. PD doesn't outsource the way Turn 10 does.

All developers say the PS3 is insanely difficult to program for, just with that, Turn 10 can't do shit with the PS3. It takes experience to program on the PS3, GT5 Prologue (2.5 years), GT5 (nearly 6 years). That's PD's first try, getting graphics, physics, and all those other never before done features are in GT5. GT5 isn't a boy's game, bottom line. Neither is it Turn 10's idea of a game. Turn10 likes gimmicks

GT5 is better purely because it's built for the higher spec of the PS3 and because of polyphony Ds experience in the series. Forza looks a bit arcady for my liking, but it did spur on the creation of the racing line and having drivers. They are sort of the same and different games, but it all started with GT ;)...

I personally find Gran Turismo 5 to have better lighting and reflections, although Forza 3 has much more detailed cars and tracks. GT5s cockpit view is also a lot better than Forza's, but overall FM3 has the best graphics. It also has better physics and fully destructible cars as well.

Gran Turismo got GT Academy, it let gamers like us drive fast crazy cars in real life. ask Lucas Ordonez, he raced LeMans 24Hr 2011 and he and his team got 2nd in his category.

Forza 3 is way better. The cars look better, and thats ALL of the cars, not just a select few to be labeled "Premium" and the rest get PS2-level graphics. They also sound better. Every car in GT5 that's int he same class sounds the same. Every car in Forza has a different sound because they actually recorded the cars. Forza's tracks also look better. The game just looks better. Sure, GT has karts, rally, and NASCAR. karts are pointless, Rally should be left to DiRT, and NASCAR is gay. Forza wins

@ShinWR1 The only reason GT5 has Nascar is because EA didn't want to waste the money on a NASCAR game, so they sold the rights to Sony to put it in GT5. Forza has drifting as well, plus forza 4 will have multi-conditional racing (rain, snow, day, night, things of the sort.) I don't think GT5 did Rally that well. It doesn't feel like true rally racing. I'd rather buy Forza 4 for a road sim and DiRT3 for Rally racing. I just don't think GT5 lived up to the hype Sony gave it.

forza is like need for speed. its not as real life as forza. forza overegzaterates (spelling sux) speed. like if you go 40 mph in gt5 and go 40mph in forza, forza looks like ur going much faster. both games are great and habe their flaws. if u like more of an action quick raceing game get forza. but if u want it to be more real life get gt5. personally i prefer gt5 but thats just my opinion. their both great

check my channel for top quality high definition drift videos, all sorts of cars. all the money my storefront earns, which has been 800k in the past few days has all gone on drifting, all sorts of cars you see online drifting, like scion, mazda, nissan! mostly japanese, gt is Ii Rang3z v and storefront keyword is Rang3z aware a lot of time and effort goes into these, infact im doing a setup now which is very time consuming:@

i have played both games, though i prefer gran turismo for its realism, i love forza because of its fun gameplay and solid physics engine. the engine and overall sounds of forza also far overcome gran turismo's

Lets face it.. Forza looks cartoony and plays with color correction to make it more ye candy when in truth the world isnt that colorful.. Gt5 has the correct amount of visual coloring etc but ISNT perfect. One game breaker for me is the too less steering of the wheel in forza which irritates me. Yes im a detail kind of person but im not bashing forza.

The one thing that bugs me about GT5 is the lack of detail outside of the track, there seems to be a lack of shading and detail for the scenery around the track which ruins the illusion of reality which the close-up graphics of the cars do so well. The only real reason I prefer Forza is because I can't stand PS3 controllers, too small, not grippy enough and lack of vibration makes me feel too detached from the game, but that's no fault of GT5 makers,just the console itself.

Sorry I'm guessing you read my comment as though I thought there wasn't ANY vibration, what I meant was that the vibration didn't seem to be used when it was needed and wasn't responsive enough for me. I dunno, I noticed it when I played a game of GT5 straight after a race on Forza, which is what I'm used to, so maybe I just wasn't familiar enough with it.
