  • Lovely voice and you did a lovely job. You might try for more contrast in dynamics. I would love to hear your voice at a p(iano) range.

  • Very nice--I'd just make my vowels a bit more vertical.

  • You have an amazing voice, but your voice is continuously flat throughout the whole piece. That's my only complaint, though. Maybe if you try to go sharp, you will wind up on key. ;)

  • Doing this for Solo & Ensemble, too. Beautiful rendition!

  • @Keeby12 LOL, me TOO!!!!!!! hahaah :)

  • I am singing this song for solo and ensemble.... Its my first italian aria, i hope i do alright

  • talk about lyric soprano. great rendition.

  • Absolutely Beautifully Done... you have a lovely voice!!.

  • I love this piece and you sang it beautifully!

  • Dude I have to learn this song as my solo in all state and I used your vid to practice! Your really good! I love how you did the ending constants in this song especially with the rr sound athens end of some notes!

  • Your tone is exquisite...most singers can't achieve you, you naturally have it. Girrl work it!!

I will say, sometimes your vowels sound a little spread, just make sure they're tall (I'm sure you've heard this 492743892473892 times from your teachers) and to keep the air moving. I can hear the tone kinda pinched a little bit when you run out of air. Just keep it open cause you have a wonderful voice when its blossomed. keep singing girrl! You're great!

  • What key is this in?

  • @stephanieebsch: it starts in g minor and ends on a g major chord

  • Amazing

  • You're amazing!! Like legit! Just one thing, please don't scoop as much as you do. You're voice is amazing though and keep it upp!

  • I think you sound absolutely wonderful. It reminds me of Kathleen Battle. I guess as you keep progressing you will get better at initiating the D. My onset of the high notes are not perfect either. But for this song you're good enough. Good luck to your singing.

  • Pretty, a few details to correct but you have a very nice voice n_n

  • @shadowfeet09 I must've watched this video about a trillion times already. You have a gorgeous voice. I love this peice, and I have yet to hear someone do it such justice. It's beautiful. :)

  • Very nice! Thanks, I was having trouble with the last part. Hearing you helped. Thanks!!

  • thought this was kinda funny how it zoomed in and out on her picture the whole time ;D

  • Love this aria <3

  • this is beautiful!

  • Gorgeous voice! And thanks for saving my choir final! :]

  • Check out maryluvsmusic98 singing Amarilli Mia Bella! Tell all your friends!

  • i think you have an amazing voice! its very clear and pure and i love your use of rolling your r's. your high notes are also really gorgeous and have lots of power. i had just did this song in my voice lab class and listened mostly to your video and it helped me learn it alot better. youre phenomenal!

  • Beautiful voice and beautiful face. This piece shouldn't be quite so rhythmically strict, it's not a march. allow your voice to sing the phrase fully. Your "ee" vowels are so much better than mine.

  • @skistar3 I'm pretty sure that this is the med. low version because when i sang it through with an accompanist, he was playing with the book called "24 italian songs and arias: med. low version"

  • Lovely. Your tone definitely improved as the piece went on. I heard a little thinness in the beginning. :)

  • does anyone know of an example of the medium low verson ?

  • This is... Wow. I showed this to my voice teacher and he smiled... and that's a hard thing to make him do... excelent work!

  • This video helped me a lot for my solo & ensemble piece. You pronounce your vowels BEAUTIFULLY. Your voice is great! Thank you!

  • I love this song! Oh, and I'm kind of a picky pitch person, and there were a few flat spots, but omg your voice is amazing! I also love the way you pronounced your Italian, because a lot of people who sing these arias for solo and ensemble or anything like that really don't have correct pronounciation. Overall, great job!!

  • oh! the only suggestion i gie you is to focus on the dinamics! singing forte on some parts and soft on others. And overall VERY GOOD! make sure to not get flat on some notes cuz i heard it here and there.....

  • Let me say this right now that you have a strong and powerful voice. In the end with the 16 (or 8th notes,I forgot) you nailed it.And as said, the power you put in your voice is truly amazing, especially since the Italian language is sappost to be powerful. All In All,bravo!

  • Beautifull voice! Which type of soprano are you ? Continue with the good work!

  • Any tips for someone who has to sing this while sick and who can't roll 'r's? -_-'

  • Your voice is truly beautiful. I only have one complaint: you have a tendency to go flat. I think that elevating the voice would really help you produce an even more amazing sound .

  • i love the way u sing it, i have to learn it for a recital, and ur video helps me alot, thanks!!!

  • Thank you thank you thank you! I have to know this song by heart by friday for my vocal masters recital. This will help a lot!

  • Amazing job! I sang it today for my college art supplement in medium high as well, using GarageBand.

  • won a st medal for a 1 rating with this song in 1987. Fabulous!! Fantastic rendition...

  • it was the first song i sang...on stage

    when i was 7

  • this song is so beautiful this is da song that made me want to start singin

  • I dont know techinqe but it sounds nice to me. My roomate is a great singer and he thought it was very beautiful

  • That was very nice-but work on your head voice a little more-but it a beautiful

  • i am singing this for my CAPA (creative and preforming arts) concert ^_^

  • That was so beatiful I have this song now I hope I can do it as perfect as she did it

  • lol....take it down a notch lol....too fast but beautiful

  • i basically died and went to heaven. i love your voice

  • yyour amazing this is my fav recording of this song i have found your good can you sing le violette? or vergin or se tu mami :D

  • beautiful!

  • starting note - not supported, it was full of air - you need to keep the larnyx (sp?) down, so send the air through the nose but have the throat wide at the same time - like you're yawning, that will help with bringing a richer sound to your already clear voice!

  • @supwitchyou

I think she sounds nice, and while I see what you are getting at I don't think you can get far without a good teacher. Just trying to press down your larynx etc. on your own isn't likely to help, and I'm dubious about "sending the air through the nose" - maybe a little bit, but too much and it would not be good, I don't think. I agree though ideally this singer might benefit from a bit more weight and support in the sound.

  • Really lovely! Such clarity! Thanks so much for sharing your gifts.

    M. from Canada

  • What a beautiful voice :)

  • wonderful! the only real issue i had was your scooping and your habit of starting notes with no vibrato, and rather too much breath, instead of sound. i'm pretty sure part of that is to keep the sound piano or pianissimo, but it seems like you can do that near the end of the piece without the breathiness. so just keep an eye out for it, i guess? there's always one bad habit or another a singer is trying to break. :P i'm guilty as anyone.

  • Ottima pronuncia della Lingua Italiana -- e chi scrive è un Toscano -- , bella voce e

buona impostazione. Che possa continuar nella lirica barocca e far di meglio! Auguri vivissimi!

  • Voice is sooooo much nicer than Cecillia B.

  • @9428962 agreed

  • this was very well done. however you seemed a little breathy, so support your breathing a bit more, and your trills were fantastic, need some work on your italian, but that comes in time, and you did scoop in a few parts, which makes the song more "poppy" as i say, which isn't needed so work on that. i'd give this around a B, it was fantastic, keep working! =]

  • jasi0190 that is the point to roll your Rs, its an Italian song so she is making it sound like she is from Italy. Also my choir director at my high school told us to roll our Rs for our final exam.

  • Very good pronounciation, but there was a lot of scooping. All in all, it was a grade A performance.

  • try not roll your R's so much.....make the air flow continous it will make for a very smooth transition between low and high notes.

  • best ive heard sing this on youtube. well done! terriblement belle.

  • The only thing that I can see and suggest is to work on your pitch just a tiny bit more - make sure you really get on top of the notes (even the lower ones).

    Other than that, it's BEAUTIFUL.

  • one question... is this the medium low version Amarilli mia Bella? because if it is i can use this to help me learn it.since i don't have a piano.atm lol. id really appreciate it if u got back to me :o) oh and u sound really good btw

  • this is the medium high version. I definitely suggest that you go ahead and purchase the accompaniment cd for the 24 Italian Songs book in your key, it's a great investment =)

  • @Shadowfeet09

what cd are you talking about? where can I find it? Thanks.

  • @Shadowfeet09 When I auditioned for CMEA my music teacher let me download it all for free :-)

  • @Ericajt09

I believe that Cecillia Bartolli's version is the medium low one.

  • @Ericajt09 This is a medium-high version.

  • Technique Advice,

Sing the consonant you starts a phrase on

Work on onsets (they need to be more pronounced, but not totally glottal)

Lift the soft palete on higher notes

    WORK ON DICTION!!

Its odd because parts of this are soo good and others are just so slightly lacking. Still i enjoyed it.

  • it'd be cool if we could like see you sing it. you kno? like mouthsinc a vid with yur garageband file.
