For all you uneducated, ignorant and jellous idiots, the DSG is not an automatic, it is an electronically controlled manual transmission with two clutches which makes it much much better than an agricultural outdated manual transmission. I have one and it is much better and quicker than manually shifting the gear linkages. Hats off to VW, well done.

Now almost every manufacturer is jumping on the bandwagon and using DSG transmissions in their sports cars.

well i like the outside and inside alot more on the MKV than the MKiv. and i need a 4 door. so its more practical for me and my needs. and i really like the dsg auto tranny w/ tiptronic and paddel shifters. and love the customizible moonroof and cloth heated seats, included xenon headlights w/ fogs, the 18'' 5 spoke wheels and the autobahn package.

personaly i like the 4door. like Nismo said it reduces the insurance. but also i live in Cali so there are very few GTI's to begin with but i have yet to see on the streets where i live with 4doors. im getting a 4door because its practical to get people, kids, dog in and out plus (where i live at least) it so rare im gunna have to order it from Germany...

first of it says gti on the front grill so your wrong secondly they started making a 5 dorr gti in 2006 so your wrong and third the DSG isn't available on a normal golf so your wrong

i have to agree with that my mark v is a stick... so u can actaully hear the turbo spool and the blow off valve.

GTI's don't have blow off valves and autos have nothing to do with the turbo spooling or not. Furthermore it isn't possible to put a BOV on a TFSI engine. You can mimic the sound with spacers and sort of with some intakes. But that's about it.

the car is actually faster with automatic because the turbo doesnt release perssure and the computer will shift faster than a human all day long. and as for "hearing the turbo spool" you must not have a DL. and hearing "blow off valves" are for fags with slow pieces of dogshit. recirculation valves are supposed to be silent, unless you have a small dick.

its not just an "automatic" dum-dum its DSG (direct shift gearbox) a dual clutch paddle shifted gearbox that will shift from one gear to the next in .2 seconds....faster than a stick. i personaly love the 6-speed but know your shit fenomeni....seriously
