look patrickkumi, singing it's not about high notes it's about feelings. I think you should listen to Sade, she doesn't use high notes when she sings but she means and feels every word she sings. If everybody sang like Mariah Carey with all of those high notes........all the time....... music would be so boring!!!

Both of you are right about The Beyoncé Experience; Beyoncé did (i think) 2 and a half hours worth of singing and her only breaks were the transition music from the band. Yeah. A real good comparison, to me would be like J-Sull and Lauryn Hill. I love them both. I will admit however that Jazmine Sullivan has a harder time hitting higher notes because of her deeper voice. Go look up her performance at the apollo when she was only 11 and you'll see what I mean. But what she lacks in range she makes up for in style. My favorite female singers are Beyonce (who's always been my #1), J-Sull, Lauryn Hill, Rihanna, and Christina Aquilera.

Give her credit for her career and lets not compare her to people with a career and have been credibly praised for alot of their talents: i.e the abitily to dance and sing. BTW this song doesn't fit J Sull's voice. she's very soulful.. Christina ain't got no soul like that.

HA HA! JOKE! Have you ever seen Rihanna do more than one live performance? Because she's not all that great in concert. And The Beyonce Experince showed me a whole different side of B! Rihanna is a one performance a night girl! She was truly horrible in Kanye's concert. Not just that she couldn't entertain for a 15 minute set but that her voice ain't really what its cracked up to be when she's live!

Since I don't want to fill up two block thingies, I'll use this as a response to briahbriah ajamaicanpara... whatever. Both of you are right about The Beyoncé Experience; Beyoncé did (i think) 2 and a half hours worth of singing and her only breaks were the transition music from the band. I truly still find it hard almost to believe that she sang that good throughout the entire concert. She didn't sound tired or anything. She is a true entertainer and big ups to J-Sull. She did her thang.

I agree though when she was performing dallas you could hear her voice crack and some little imperfections. And I wish folks would stop trying to compare artists who are completly different. Its like if people back in the day were trying to compare Diana Ross to Nina Simone or Etta James. They're all great singers just different styles. But Rihanna is a pop artist. Compare her to someone like Keri Hilson or J. Lo.

Yeah. A real good comparison, to me would be like J-Sull and Lauryn Hill. I love them both. I will admit however that Jazmine Sullivan has a harder time hitting higher notes because of her deeper voice. Go look up her performance at the apollo when she was only 11 and you'll see what I mean. But what she lacks in range she makes up for in style. My favorite female singers are Beyonce (who's always been my #1), J-Sull, Lauryn Hill, Rihanna, and Christina Aquilera.

thats my thought exactly, i always said beyonce is A PERFORMER she can do it all onstage LIVE. How many can sing AND dance like that!! i like some of what rihanna does but live? its a bit weak. thats true for lots of artists out there.some are studio based while others are stage performers..

Beyonce isn't even near as great as people make her out to be. If she was ugly she wouldn't sell nearly as many records. If Jazmine Sullivan or someone like Alicia Keys was ugly (Neither are) then they would sell the same amount as they have been because people like their music.

i agree Beyonce has given some amazing vocal performances and don't forget it. Just because she's not SOUL SISTA # 1 doesn't mean the girl can sing. You go home and try to hit the notes on Listen, Dangerously in Love, Me Myself and I (Live Version), her cover of Resentment. Additionally she has an amazing timbre and did a video where she danced three minutes straight. Ain't too much people doing the things Beyonce is doing now and people are just hating point blank.

I would not neccessary say she sounds like a man. For those who know and understand music, know that there are different voice qualities. Everyone has a different quality of voice. Jazmine is gifted with a rich and full soulful sound. Everyone will not sound the same, but it is important to respect everyone's art. You don't have to like it.
