Spain and Portugal are in Europe. They are not going to be as brown as the people in Latin America and the Carribbean, who are mixed with Indian and African. Spain colonized many parts of Latin America, Portugal colonized Brazil. The Spainish and Portugese may have dark hair but their skin is more fair, usually. This is history that we all should have learned in school.

Here in Brazil, we're mixed, with italian, german, portuguese, japanese and the natives who already lived here, before Portugal arrive here and suck all our wealth and then leave, as the Spaniards did to the other South American countries!

In the south of the country, the major parcel of the people, are descendent of italian, german and japanese, in the north, they're the majority are descendent of africans and the natives ;)

Brazil is very diverse :)

@olissipian embracing other cultures is never a disservice. It would be a desservice to remain closed minded (which in fact has never been the Portuguese tendency). Portuguese culture, cuisine, even language has been influenced by many different cultures including African which is also included in this video. Shutting out the Brazilian culture would make TAP a racist company would it not? I stick to my opinion... TAP: WELL DONE :)

The purpose of this flash mob was supposedly to introduce the airline and Lisbon as a destination from/to Miami. This subconscious need to include other more "exotic" influences is due to the Portuguese/TAP not feeling "cool" enough by itself. It diminishes our identity and I don't see Air France or British Airways incorporating their former colonies into their marketing.

I think the video is great. It has never been done at an airport anywhere in the United States. It was very refreshing... The song actually isn´t Brazilian. It is the TAP song which consists of 3 different styles, Portuguese, Brazilian and African bringing together Lusophone culture all over the world. Love what it represents. A job well done.

@x3Portugal That's a good explanation but TAP is still public, a Portuguese company, and therefore representative of Portugal only. It should project Portugal's identity and it doesn't do that here. Once it's privatized it can become a Lusophone company, not now. TAP has done an excellent job projecting Portugal in its in-flight magazine and on menus of national cuisine on business class but its recent Brazilification (reinforced in this video) is a disservice to Portugal's image and identity
