Its not over yet. And I don't believe Microsoft truly understands that it needs to do more than shed jobs and move the deck chairs around. There are parallels with IBM in the early 90's here. Microsoft needs to change at a fundamental level: It needs to change its business model.
You are absolutely correct. For more on this, google "crandrea activism" and click the first link. This is a blog started by disenchanted Microsoft stockholders who wants Ballmer out and proposes a new business model for Microsoft. They have some radical thinking but they did their homework regarding facts and figures.
It's one way Steve Ballmer will try to recoup losses > EU fined Microsoft record $1.4bn >899m euros in 2008 after it failed to comply with a 2004 ruling that it abused its dominant market position. The fines come on top of earlier fines of 280m euros imposed in July 2006, & of 497m euros in March 2004. Microsoft was guilty of freezing out rivals while unfairly linking its Explorer internet browser to its Windows operating system at the expense of rival servers.
I guess some would say "Everything happens for a Reason"... But that can have an opposite reasoning too... that the wrongdoer (in this case Microsoft Executives) can feel proud of themselves to continue their affluent lives without a care & their huge paychecks of course, leaving others without hope & without a job. Sad :( for all the Romanian employees who made Microsoft what it is today. After all everyone knows Romanian is the 2nd most spoken language at Microsoft among employees. Multumesc
They are not waking up. How come this executives listen to some jerks who avocates competing potential customers? Funny how all those PHDs they hired since 10 years ago understand definition of business. There must be a lot of newcons in there. Firing all those suckers then MS would see some day light of innovation and technology. Internet business is not limited to advertisment. Honestly provide enjoyment, simple business managment, negotion and consulting. Ads look for new business models.
