See, Pacey's boss is just a straight up jackass who doesn't care about anybody else but himself. Sure, he could give Pacey some advice every now and then but he doesn't really expect Pace to do anything with it or go anywhere with it. Hetson, on the other hand, is somewhat of a brutal jackass but it's not deliberate, it's just his personality. He speaks his mind and what he DOES tell Joey, he means for her to take it and better herself. He actually WANTS her to succeed in his class.
