1983 Flying Pickets did an a capella version and it reached number one in britain around X-mas.

Originally i thought this song was by "The Flying Pickets" (a British A Cappella group) who did a version in 1983. As Xanthosine correctly points out, the original song was by Yaz (i heard this later off "Upstairs at Eric's").

Either way, the Joshua Radin version is by far the best.
