  • My experience:

    speakers: ~50 hz bass ~100W (220v) ; ~170-22khz (~30w each) ;

Player: that is playing EVERYTHING and has NO REGION limitations

amplifier: I prefer integrated (yes less functional but more powerful)

THIS IS THE MINIMUM YOU CAN SPEND TO HAVE AT LEAST GOOD EXPERIENCE (HIGH QUALITY)

Yes you can spend more, but make sure you hit this numbers

DON'T just buy something because you like the BRAND (that's not so adequate)

    more:

Prefer WOODEN speakers (if possible for your price)

  • the best speakers are bose

  • @eric1carlsoc

no way! bose are probably one of the worst speakers. The price always does matter bro! So I could ensure you that the money that you could spend for a bose home system would be enough to buy 2 other systems that could be actually better :/

  • @advsoft they are only crap if you buy them from your local op-shop.. bose is one of the best brands available for speakers. They are a bit pricey, however they do last for a long time & have quite a good quality. If you still think they are shit, do your research or shut your mouth.

  • So... bose are with less features than the most other brands, they overprice twice (maybe 3,4) also there's NO INFO for the systems not in the internet, not in the shops, not in the cites selling them. I hope you know what that means: Only an IDIOT will buy something that's overpriced and all the info that he needs is HIDDEN! Actually bought t over 3 expensive home systems and I laugh to my friend with his super-expensive bose speakers every time I am in his place. It just sounds wrong & blurry

  • Wonder what it's like to never get laid? Oh, I bet Chris knows!

  • I believe he has a girlfriend/wife.

  • Yeah, and I'm sure she is a prize, lol. All I'm saying is, he is extremely annoying, and really never seems to know what he is talking about. Hence, why TechTV and G4 didn't want to keep him around, no one really likes him.

  • He has a wife.

  • If anyone has questions on home theater, you can ask me. I wrote the list that he is reading.

  • Get an amp NOT A DVD set

  • Don't forget your audio!

Ignore stupid claims on max power from amp, speakers and sales people. Try to match the RMS or nominal power of your speakers to your amp. This ensures that you maximize loudness and quality.

Aim for RMS power levels of speakers & amps of at least 50W(main), 25W(surround) and 80W(sub. Brands and price usually give an indication of quality.

A background in basic electronics can give you an understanding why most power claims are misleading. For example, a 1200W sub...

  • Another thing with audio - Match your speaker drivers! Don't mix and match brands on the speakers. Also, be careful if buying gear from different years as companies will often change drivers in speakers from year to year.

  • i use a harmon kardon amp wich i use as pre amp then i use a chord amp running wharfedale pacific series speakers

and a yamaha 1200w sub that shakes my house down xD

  • dont need one....

  • i run an sherwood amp and four jbl lx60 speakers and an gale center. it rocks :)

  • nice! i have bose computer speakers, the middle price ones, and they are amazing. like all my friends' computers dont have any speakers, and when i hear theirs, im thinking in my head. whoa, did i go death, or am i the only one hearing the crappy sound. lol. dont u hate it when ppl are like bose is overrated! its like ur just jelous u cant afford them, or u cant get over spending a little more for something great.

  • My father have Bose built in his house and his caddy it does sounds great.

  • A 38" HDTV and a DVD player.

  • a crt television

  • Two 18in subwoofers, two 15in mains with about 3,500watts of power.

  • Yeah but chris, quality is more important then favorite brands as well. For example Yamaha makes amongst the best home receivers out there.

  • Radio Shack is not bad. We would build speaker cable also. It was interesting. Good speakers are Klipsch and Boston Acoustics to name two.

  • 20" Standard Def TV, X-BOX360, Phillips surround sound system, 22" HDMI monitor, PS3

  • I used to build professional home theater systems back in the day when we would pick up equipment from Tweeter. 26,000$ later and this was for a wealthy client. For me, my PC is good enough because going to the cinema is an experience.

  • 22 inch wide screen LCD computer monitor. Ps3 for blue ray and DVD Star Choice sat for TV and a fat 700Gb hard drive for all my digital media. And a cheap home theater stereo from Walmart!
