@subzero92MK You're not the first person to think that. But they were built for carrying up to a ton of newspaper, especially the Financial Times, hence the extra axle. You would not need that on a hearse. Having said that, there is one in the Netherlands that was used as a hearse........
@subzero92MK They are all modifications of the standard four-wheeler car, and were built to deliver newspaper, especially the Financial Times, at high speed overnight for early morning delivery. They would run, for example, from Amsterdam at 23.00 to the South of France for early morning delivery at 07.00., three times per week. They were driven "into the ground" until they just wore out...or else the drivers fell asleep at the wheel and crashed. That is why not so many are left.
What a truly fantastic car and a mad idea for the caraplane, been fortunate to ride in this car a few times, had a think about the 2CV JCB yet, that would be amazing, Mr Collins a true legend, Dan Stubbings
@vivianprice33 The aircraft was already scrapped by the previous owner, so would have been destroyed. I bought the fuselage alone. Adaptive re-use is better than recycling, it uses less energy (except for mine!). Use some imagination!
How cool is this video, i had no idea they built a CX with a quad wheel set up at the rear, truly amazing these cars were so advanced the french really have style and flair when it came to building Citroens of old.
This a great idea for a trailer. I made a trailer too but from the same car as I use.I got a toyota previa and cut up another for the trailer. It's not finished yet but it's certainly different too. Have a look...
What a wonderfully mad project! Love it!
Greetings from CX Turbo2 owner in Norway.

@subzero92MK There were some hundreds built in the 1980s in France, Belgium and Germany. There are not so many left now.

@thejoyofcx that's a pity, how much could it be evaluated?

@subzero92MK Do you mean what is it worth? I have no idea...until i come to sell it one day. I do not know how much money they sell for in Europe.

@ecosselad The CX didn't even come with the quad rear wheel setup, it is a custom build, look on thejoyofcx, it says everything about the conversion

I'm not sure flying that low is legal. They'll take your wings away.
Happy flying.
