@2rude I dunno; I'm normally sceptical of alternative treatments until I can verify them... but I had a really odd experience once with a Chinese doctor. He was doing that same arm-pushing thing, only he was exposing me to potential allergens. Goshdarnit, my arm got weak in a very reproducible pattern. Could be a subtle science that we haven't really explored yet. And anyhow, I don't think empowerment and self-esteem are any sort of dubious science... they're just psychology.
