  • You should try eating shark fin. It's actually good.

  • @cardcaptorsakurax16 that is one i never tried

  • Watched this video with my friends and your brother impressed them. :P I'm still on your side.

  • @gorillasproperty lol!! i still dont know how he did it!! he only eats chicken nuggets and ketchup and he kept his bite down:)

  • u fried it b u eat it!

  • @leo1234 i wish i had it fried!!!

  • Well, I guess I won't be trying that. I'll stick to the regular tofu, thank-you very much! Thanks for taking one for the team.

  • @absentmindedprof lol! good idea!!

  • It counters the "heat" so that your body is back in balance. :)

  • @samherbie that is very awesome

  • Lmao at the flies. Same thing when Cult Moo did the surströmming, you could see the flies swarming in front of the lens. :D

  • @ballebanan lol! i guess they know gross when they smell it!

  • I like Asian so know a bit. You should try sea cucumber or a brew at home tea called Wong Lo Gut (spoken in Cantonese). It's available a large Asian groceries or herbal shops. It's drunk to counteract the "yang - heat" from greasy fried foods. Warning: tea is real bitter, nothing like grass jelly. Cheers.

  • @samherbie but it gets rid of the heat? that is awesome!

  • Dood, you handled that like a boss!

  • @Dialga15132 thank yoU!! it was hard:D

  • The stinky tofu that u want 2 try is also fermented but it's not soaking in a brine. It is really like regular deep fried tofu puffs that are sold in Chinese food stores. I hope u try the brined one like it is meant 2 be so that you might have a better experience. Cheers! Keep on eating!

  • @samherbie that one sounds better!

  • Ur cool! Actually what u r eating is a condiment rather than a food. It isn't meant to be eaten whole like what you did. It's very salty because it is usually eaten with rice, congee, or used as a dip for dog stew (seriously), or lamb hot pot. What you have is actually called Fermented Tofu which comes in 3 flavors, plain, spicy, and savory (which is red and used only in cooking). The red kind is used in many vegetarian/Buddhist dishes. Taiwanese or Cantonese stinky tofu is different.

  • @samherbie i wish i talked to you before i did the video! you know more about it than i could find anywhere online!! thank you:)

  • the fried one with chinese coleslaw is really very good. especially the ones in taiwan! i've missed it so much :)

  • @lovingsnow92 if i ever make it to taiwan i will kiss the street:)

  • God kid you are great and funny

  • @byront37 thank yoU!!

  • that isn't exactly stinky tofu...

  • @yokoxxx i guess it shoud be fried and served diferently but it was really hard to eat

  • There are 2 kinds of Stinky Tofu...The one in the jar is the strongest base on my taste...The fried stinky tofu is kinda like a snack. But the one that in the jar is for meals eat together with rice or congee.Hope this can help you guys :) Try it! Its funny XD

  • @yhl1994 o man i had to try the stronger one first?ug!! i will have to try the fried kind

  • Ewwwwww

  • @twixyzable that is for sure:)

  • maybe try it fried ? :D

  • @DuyAnh1 i really have to try if fried you are right

  • I've had stinky tofu but never in a jar looking like that!

  • @jigsaw99 its weird huh?!

  • have u eaten vegemite or durian?

  • @barbs19788 yes to durian but no to vegemite but i want to! i have tried marmite and i guess they are similar?

  • @FoodOddities tbh i love Vegemite and have been eating it for as long as i can remember. But i think the problem that a lot of Americans make when they eat is that they spread it an inch think on a piece of toast or bread. The proper way to eat Vegemite is to put a heap of butter on a piece of toast and just put a little bit of Vegemite on. A little bit goes a long way. Trust me.

  • @barbs19788 i will remember that. just a little bit works:)

  • This is funny! I love the reactions.

  • @wrght9185 lol! i picked the worst day to try it! so warm no wind, bugs out. if i waited until the dead of winter maybe the wind would have blown the smell away!!

  • Eww that looks horrible! I can't believe you had the guts to eat it.... Good for you, I wouldnt have been able to do it!!

  • @TheLucyloo95 lol! it is still the worst thing i have ever tried. sooooo bad!!

  • That was great! lol

  • @WrecklessEating than k you:)

  • It loooks ROTTEN!

  • @PirateKing1256 that was how it smelled too!

  • Wow. Never thought I'd live to see the day Remy couldn't stomach a food, but I can smell the stinky tofu through the screen! Haha. I don't blame you at all. You're still my food-oddity hero, little dude. :)

  • @img921 lol! thank you!! yes the tofu beat me. but i will keep going:D

  • YOU TWO ARE SOOOOOOOO ADORABLE! i think your little brother said, "it tastes grows" cuute. :) why don't you two make videos? :)

  • @itsreginachi thank you!! sometimes he wants to be in them and some times he just disappears. he is always invited to be in them but only every once in awhile does he try something. he is picky usually!

  • how could that beijing man not have FOUND the jar!?

  • @missy192 taht is a good point! i would think he would be wandering around going what animal died in here?

  • Where do u get all these food?

  • WOW... I thought this little guy was a girl before I saw this video. Long hair in the older ones threw me off. Lol! I enjoy the vids tho!

  • @mangleem1 lol! everyone used to think i was a girl:D in mcdonalds i always got girl toys:(

  • @mangleem1 i get a lot online from thinkgeek and edible. and some like rattlesnake were from out west. but i think most food i get in asian markets near me

  • You are hilarious! i dont eat this. i am chinese. i wont even try it. it is really bad!

  • @peteryeng lol! thank you!!

  • You are not supposed to eat it like that, try the Taiwan stinky tofu with seasame oil, you are supposed to take a little bit at one time and pour more seasame oil on it because it is very salty

  • @kinkinham i will have to try that kind then ! after i get over hte last time...

  • @FoodOddities don't try it on your own, I am not sure it's safe.... buy it if you have the chance in taiwan, it's usually deep fried and you eat it with sauce and pickled vegetables.....

  • @kinkinham ok!

  • Ballz to you Remy....Ballz to you

  • @TakeBackFreedom LOL!!!

  • I love the Stinky Tofu XD Its 1 of my favourite food! <3 I like the smell too o.o

  • @WishingBabyX you are stronger tahn i am!

  • @FoodOddities noo! you are! You are brave to eat some things that I dont dare! XD

  • "A hammer over the head might be better." Lol! Actually, you might have enjoyed that more than the tofu! I would never ever in life! I can't believe the littler kid even swallowed the stuff. Props for your bravery!

  • @jpayne4040 i know he is crazy my brother is so picky but when he tries something he wont back down! he is not open minded but he is unstopable:)

  • @tamrakeya lol!

  • @tamrakeya lol! thak you! i am forever afraid of it now:D

  • Try Belacan..its a great Malaysian food!U'll Love it!Believe Me..:D

  • @XavierEightSeven i had to go look it up. that is something i never tried!!!

  • @FoodOddities yup!it more pungent than durian by the way..:D

  • @XavierEightSeven i believe it so i have to try it:) in a field some where

  • Hardcore is an understatement! I grew up with a Chinese father and my brother, American mother and I were often driven from the house by the smell of food my father was cooking. I almost vomited at the banquet table once when I mistakenly thought "Sea Cucumber" was a sea vegetable. It was the consistency that got me. The Chinese love to make the "round eye" eat gross stuff at the banquet table.

  • @angybby lol! awesome:)

  • ...Yeah, you don't eat that alone. xD When you eat it, your supposed to mix it in things. It's not eaten alone, generally, unless you really love the taste. It's like everything else, it's more of a seasoning then a dish. Like salt, you don't want to eat a handful of salt..

  • @TheHecticTrio it is true. some times i think i want to eat things alone so only taste them but yah i wont eat a handful of salt:)

  • iv said it before but i have to say it agn, YOU ARE HARDCORE. anything you can smell through a sealed jar has to be bad, i bet customs loved that at the air port.

  • @lowgrade84 lol! i never even thought about that:D

  • Anyone else cringe?

  • @terrinisawesome lol!!

  • I like you're hair ; P

  • I love how u only reply to the good comments :)

  • @thehamsterlover100 i try to write back to the people who dont like what i did but they are nice. my mom or dad erase the ones who say they hate me or are super mean. i know they are out there but some times someone just doesnt believe in eating meat and that is a fair thing to think so i will write back

  • When my dad went to China he told me that he couldn't even walk on the same street that sold stinky tofu.

You are so freaking brave xD Amazing!

  • @lunarheart14 lol!! thank you:D

  • remy you look cute with the haircut you had in the 'spotted dick' video

  • @nachoandfries o thank you!! it was this haircut but shorter. now it is growing a little long now.

  • I wish more 10 year old kids tried different foods. My 10 year old nephew won't even eat macaroni and shells...it has to be elbow macaroni!!

    Props to you Remy!!!

  • @BurchMike1 o thank you! lol! your nephew sounds like my brother he is pretty picky. but he he ate the tofu in this video!! crazy

  • @BurchMike1 i love macaroni and shells the best:)

  • omg i almost just threw up when the chopsticks were holding it! ew gross lol.

btw most kids who make a vids' voice is hard to understand.ur voice is clear and perfect. :)

  • @Kayleesbeauty that is so nice of you to say it!!!

  • omg i almost just threw up when the chopsticks were holding it! ew gross lol. btw i love how u talk ur grammer is perfect (not in a weird way lol) r u from the north or south? im from the south, but i dont talk crazy country like everyone i know lol

  • @Kayleesbeauty i am from the north:) thank you about my grammer!! i am from michigan

  • @FoodOddities im from tennessee. i know a few people from michigan. well thanks for replying (twice lol) :D

  • i love stinky tofu. coincidently i had to today at a local taiwanese restaurant. ive never seen one in a jar though haha. that is gross... ive had it fried, and in a hotpot. delicious! once you overcome the smell, the smell is actually appetizing. of coarse its not for everyone...

  • @dehbee i have to try it fried. never again from a jar:)

  • it can't smell worse than an autopsy room :S

  • @Alalalalala11 you are probbaly right about that:)

  • haha even the legendary remy can't stomach this thing!

  • @AngryCrowTakesFlight lol!! it beat me fair!!!

  • Future Andrew Zimmerman haha. Good luck buddy and keep up the great work.

  • @SGCRCT thank yoU! very much:)

  • This is the second vid of yours I seen and the first one was heinz dick pudding which if it is in the grocery store doesn't say much when one eats it. It never even looked gross, however when you actually put that in your mouth that caught me off guard and then your brother eating that was even more off guard

However being that you are a kid you seem very smart and you act like you are over twenty years old and thus an adult.

  • @endlessmountain thank you!! my brother suprises me when he says he wants to try these things he is so picky. but thank you!! i try to sound as grown up as i can on camera but i am not a genius or anything i just know a little bit about whatever i try. by reading about it:D

  • Remy, when you opened that jar of stinky tofu, I imagined that jar being at home on Dr. Frankensteins shelves. When you fished out a goopy chunk , I was already trying NOT to gag. I think I actually prayed a little for you; it looked that bad, the flies homing in on it didn't help either.. I think (because I never actually tried it) the worse part of it might be the smell; 'cause it lingers.. Was the smell hard to get rid of, and how did you get the taste out of your mouth? GAH!!!

  • @Mzrougepoupee lol! this was the worst thing ever. the smell was sooo bad and i ruined my nicest chop sticks just putting them in it! the taste was gritty and salty and i almost get sick thinking about it. i feel like i willnever forget it. and that is why i am so glad i ate it! i had a horrible adventure and it only was bad for 20 minutes. lol! my hand smelled like it until i got home. and i had to wash it like 3 times:)

  • @FoodOddities Hey Remy. Would you say the anchovies, 1000 year old egg, octopus, or stinky tofu. Which one is worst? BTW I might eat it if it was fried lol (:

  • @iSayrawr95 the stinky tofu was the worst by w whole mile!!

  • @niokiniki that is the kind i need to try:)

  • lol, flies came when you opened it

  • @henbees yes!! lol they went crazy

  • I've never seen stinky tofu green and jarred like that before.

  • @MengoMango i gues i shoud try to get some fried

  • hm....i don't think I'll be eating stinky tofu anytime soon...

  • @anaangel92 i i think it is a good idea:)

  • okay sorry but i swear someone says f me at like 3:43

  • @Rarney22 lol! no one did:) is it when my brother says ok? lol!!

  • Stinky tofu is so good fried with pickled carrots :D

  • @icecoldlover every one seems to like it fried i need to find a place that will serve it like that:)

  • i think this was the first vid where something made you gag like that lol

  • @1020ali i gagge a little with anchovies but not so bad as this was:)

  • remi you should try deep fryed bacon

  • @MrDuckybuckyTrucky i wonder where i can get some. maybe the fair?

  • it is soo good fried. try it out and see if your mind changes, haha.

  • @mrstaylorlautner143 ok i will try it!

  • Why did you block out the labels?

  • @cocoyodariver at first we didnt but then my dad though if i said too many bad things about it maybe they woud get mad. and sue or something:) so we blurred it because i only had bad things to say:D

  • your not suppose to eat stinky tofu raw! It is either fried, cooked, or used in hot pots.

  • @xchrisbobisx i will never eat raw again! but i woud try it cooked:)

  • idk i've had smelly tofu before...but despite the smell it looks appetizing and very tasteful. Nothing like the one I saw in this video :S Perhaps it isn't the right one?

  • @xsoulxspiritx you coud be right:)

  • @FoodOddities what software do you use to edit your videos

  • @Angel4Ever97 my dad does it in pinnacle

  • I have a food request. how about Vegemite? I know you have had marmite a few years ago, but apparently, vegemite is said to be more gross.

  • @Zarthga o good idea! i never did try vegemite so i need to. thank you!!

  • @Zarthga omg eww !!! hahahah

  • Remy, I'm a British born half Chinese. The real "stinky" tofu doesn't look like that, not green and gooey like the one you tried! The real thing is beige, normal tofu colour and we eat teenie amounts of it with plain boiled white rice.

Please be careful with trying out unknown foods, my father strictly only buys oriental food made in Asian countries other than China. And if made in the West, well, it's most probably not the real thing!

    Great videos!

  • @ttran02 it was weird to me too because i saw pictures it looked brown. but the jar was written in chinese all over, and it came from the company named the same as the guy who is in the legend of creating it. and the website said stinky tofu but maybe it was an uncommon kind? any way thank you!!

  • @FoodOddities That looks more like fermented tofu bean curd. Its very concentrated and gooey. The stinky tofu is not packaged in a jar and is no different than the texture of regular tofu.

  • @xxluvables the website we got it from said stinky tofu but it coud have been a weird translateion

  • eat a cat or a dog please

  • @xoxaishaxox9 i just cant eat a pet! well i coud eat a guinea pig:D

  • @FoodOddities Hey, they're considered delicacies in Mexico, even served at weddings. Go eat those squeaky delicious things!

  • @SillyLitleGirl ok it is on my list!!! ooo i am eating a rabbit soon

  • @FoodOddities Rabbits are NOM.

  • OMG REMY!?

Is this the first time you ever gagged on a food?!

Is this the only time you ever spit out a food?!

Wow... all I can say is if this makes YOU gag then it must be really bad

  • @garretthallgang lol! well i guess i had a couple other times i coudnt finish some thing. but this was so much worse than anything else!!

  • ugh. kudos for putting it in your mouth kid. I can't even imagine what it must've tasted like

  • @TheNarutard96 thank you!! i gag even thinking about it 2 weeks later i am serious!

  • Hey I have some.Durian candy for you:) if you wish you can email an address to send it to.and ill mail.it that day

  • @stephaniebarney that is awesome!! thank you!! i will ask my dad

  • Hey Remy I have seen several different versions of stinky tofu, I think you picked the worst possible version. Do you think maybe the fried stinky tofu with condiments on it might be more "delicious" ?! lol!

  • @LaiLinx3 i think you are right i picked the worst one! im glad we blurred it out so no one else can suffer! lol!!

  • OMG! Hi Remy! It's been a while. :) Hahaha. I didn't recognize you there for a while. xD I was like "who's this kid acting while Remy's narrating? Wow, I didn't imagine a short look would look good on you but you look awesome. :) Btw. I'm never trying a stinky tofu... it's gross. Haha. Nice to see you again! (I better catch up and watch your previous episodes that I missed. Hehe.) Cheers!

  • @winxknight thank you!! lol:D my hair cut shocked every one. this summer has been cool with short hair. better grow it for winter though:)

  • wow, it really looks disgusting

  • @coilness o man it was horrible!

  • This is probably why it needs to be deep fried. ;P I've never had stinky tofu and I never knew they came in a jar! 8O That stuff looked more like fuyu - fermented tofu. Do you still have the jar? What is it called and what are the ingredients? I wanna go to my local Chinese store and see if they have it. 8DDD

  • @Munchiichii it was called WangZhihe brand. when we ordere it it said stinky tofu.

  • @FoodOddities Thanks! I just googled. Will try to find it in stores and try it. :DDD Wish me luck! ^_^

  • @Munchiichii when you try it tell me what you think! i want to know if you love it!!

  • @FoodOddities If I survive, I'll definitely let you know! 8D

  • @Munchiichii lol!!

  • about your long hair issue, it's happened to me, when I was in the 4th grade, I had long hair (not as long as yours was, but still long) I couldn't even comb it because it hurt too much, I cut it short because one afternoon, I was with my mom in the grocery store, and a man said "Excuse me, ladies". Now I have a fauxhawk as my hair style only because I am worried if It goes long again, someone will think I am a girl. People like my hair though, In my yearbook, I was in the top 10 best hair.

  • @Zarthga they like3d it better short? i had teh same thing. they always thought i was a girl! i got the girl toy at mcdonalds all the time.

  • GRODIE!!!!!! I love regular tofu but i wouldn't eat it rotten. :(

  • @bayleighpgee o man yes!!

  • Ever tried Dancing Squid? Soy sauce added to squid causes the tentacles to come 'back to life' temporarily. Search Youtube for 'Dancing Squid Bowl' to see a demo.

  • @tonymasons i scream,ed when i saw it! lol!!! that is so scary adn funny. the best food oddity i have ever seen EVER.
