No offense, but I can see this as a C+. I like the milkshake bit, but the rest is pretty subpar. The font you use is hard to read and blends in with the background. The background itself is way to dark. The kinetic movement of the text is decent in the beginning, but combined with being hard to read, and much too small or too big at times.
I really like the idea buy the typography you use isnt quite good, its hard to read it. I know that is the same or similar to the movie typography, but when the words move to fast, as i said, its hard to read. Anyways, an excelent idea!

I totally get how you feel. i was working on a phlebotomy certificate (drawing blood samples for medical tests), and I had to get 100 draws to qualify. the hospital they sent me to in order to apprentice stuck me with the two biggest bitches I can think of. made every day I came in to work as bad as possible, living nightmare. and after 3 weeks and over 300 draws I took off their hands, they graded me with a C-. I'm not saying I did a perfect job, but it was more than a damn C-.

well all i can say is that from 0:20 sec its clearly better than a C+, but the beginning was a bit boring relating to the weak contrast and colors. and the font was horrible, maybe matches with the movie but in a kinetic typography its just too special. my opinion, no offence taken :)

This is good, almost definitely better then anything I could make, but you probably didn't get an A because there's 1000 other videos using movie quotes with animated typography. But clearly, you have a good set of skills, so use em to make something new!
Okay, I have no clue what the criterion were for the project, and maybe your teacher was an old coot who just plain "didn't get it," and maybe it got marked down for legitimate reasons I'm not aware of. That said, I say AT LEAST a SOLID B+!!! I had trouble reading the text at times, particularly in the beginning, due to the calligraphy and my computer speakers suck, but still, it was awesome.

It's a great concept but some of the typography is difficult to read. That could be why you got such a low grade. Great concept with the glasses though!!!
You could have used "English Towne" (still a crappy font but not as crappy) or another old english font. If your going to use a downloaded font you should make sure it doesn't look like a downloaded font. I probly would have given you a "C".
it doesnt surprise me that you got a C+ you motion is fairly primitive and jagged and your typefaces conflict with each other, the beginning typeface also reminds me of papyrus which is never a good thing. The main typeface also looks like a downloaded font made by some kid dicking around in illustrator and didn't want to clean up his characters. This looks like a first draft to me or something that you threw together last minute cause you forgot it was due.
I agree. While it being highly entertaining, it doesn't contribute to the movie. If you're making a link to the movie, make the link either damn obvious that it's funny or hidden so that it becomes obvious when people think it over.
Also, GretschPlayer87 is right, you should choose your fonts more carefully. I'm sure you chose it because they're British voices, but you can't choose your fonts based on that only. Fonts have to say something about the emotion, dynamics and events of the subject.
Perhaps they aren't, but they sure do sound that way. And there you have it, for someone like me who has never seen the movie, this typography should explain the situation for me even though I've never seen it.

That said, I say AT LEAST a SOLID B+!!! I had trouble reading the text at times, particularly in the beginning, due to the calligraphy and my computer speakers suck, but still, it was awesome.

That was awesome, with the milkshakes and all. But the font was unreadable, unfortunately, especially when it travels on the screen so fast. Could have gone with a Copperplate Gothic instead

Your font is really hard to read, that's probably why you got a C, and kind of what Kanos said, the animation isn't the smoothest, it's kind of jumpy.

It's a great concept but some of the typography is difficult to read. That could be why you got such a low grade. Great concept with the glasses though!!!

You could have used "English Towne" (still a crappy font but not as crappy) or another old english font. If your going to use a downloaded font you should make sure it doesn't look like a downloaded font. I probly would have given you a "C".

it doesnt surprise me that you got a C+ you motion is fairly primitive and jagged and your typefaces conflict with each other, the beginning typeface also reminds me of papyrus which is never a good thing. The main typeface also looks like a downloaded font made by some kid dicking around in illustrator and didn't want to clean up his characters. This looks like a first draft to me or something that you threw together last minute cause you forgot it was due.

I agree. While it being highly entertaining, it doesn't contribute to the movie. If you're making a link to the movie, make the link either damn obvious that it's funny or hidden so that it becomes obvious when people think it over.
Also, GretschPlayer87 is right, you should choose your fonts more carefully. I'm sure you chose it because they're British voices, but you can't choose your fonts based on that only. Fonts have to say something about the emotion, dynamics and events of the subject.

he does sound a little like Sean Connery, but his accent was actually based on famed american director John Huston, who made the treasure of the sierra madre, a film that served as inspiration of the movie.

well i would have given you a C as well. i think your use of the camera was pretty good, but you put no consideration into TYPE face, hierarchy, organization, or any of the general principles of typography. also your background gradient is ugly. but if you fixed both of those you could have a decent piece here.

i am in now way a typography expert, but some of these comments are ludicrous and show no reasons why they think it "STINKS". I, on the other hand, think the milkshake part really animated what he was saying and i really like the "there it is" part too. it made me laugh. i do think the old english type face wasn't the best choice, even though it was used for the movie. it just didn't work with the movement. i really wanna know why your teacher gave you a C+. i think u deserved higher.

you got lucky that your teacher passed you at all, he/she was being nice, you definitely didn't deserve an A for this. there are some good ideas and nice camera transitions here but overall the type STINKS and you NEED to take a TYPOGRAPHY class. The typography in this video is so bad it makes the whole thing very visually unappealling
