Landing provides cooldown frames in which your character is helpless. This eliminates the problem, but circumstantially, as when the technique is performed it locks kirby in an attack when he may need to dodge.
you u jump, activate your move, but do it so as your move ends before you hit the ground, then jump, repeat. You're gonna have to learn the timing for yourself, but think of L-Cancel from Melee.
So you need to have the ground directly underneath you in order for it to work?? I guess the infinite jump isn't that that useful after all--just stand on the ground and jump again....
.....or am I blind and there something I'm not getting? T___T
no your right, i never understand the usefulness of infinite jumps when you cant use them beyond the stage. Besides bowsers, his is great for intimidation tactics
This is a glitch that only works over a platform or ground area. The game reads the character as touching the ground but because of the animation of the hammer it doesnt SHOW Kirby as touching.
Correcting his bad english, no it doesn't. Read my reply up top for more information. The hammer doesn't reset the jumps but merely makes it seem like kirby doesn't touch the ground when he actually is. If they tried to do it higher it would just fail.
Well, it looks like you probably can't do this when you're off stage soo.... I guess this is like "wave-dashing" or should I say air-swimming. Yeah, Air-swimming. It might be useful for juggle combos and slower and heavy characters. Such as Bowser ( His weight makes him fall faster than he moves and if you can move at that speed you could probably take advantage of his powerful moves) Gah! What do I know...
So in order to do that do you need to 'almost' touch the ground to get the extra jump? Or can you use the hammer high in the air and get more jumps? If not this seems pointless whether it's in the game or not.
It is still pretty useful considering you don't suffer the lag if the move, and you can jump again, albeit Kirby can already do this since he has multiple jumps in the first place.
this is just like boswer's claw hop and luigi's infinite cyclone!

No lag. Attack and evade without a problem. Thats why its useful on the stage.

It's also very helpful for mindgames, and things like that. Although this one is much harder to perform than Bowser and Luigi's. =P
And I know how delayed this response is, don't mention that.

So basically end the hammer animation approximately one Kirby's height away from the platform then buffer a jump?
sisolaaaxx 3 years ago
By the way, this can be done with all aerials. And you just need to double jump once in the air :)

Bowser has the same thing.

Interesting, though. Is the timing difficult? If you press too late is there a penalty for doing the move as you hit the ground?
