  • Kommt ihr aus Berlin? :D

  • This is great, more refined production and you'd be kicking the shit out of it!

  • this song is sick, you wouldn't happen to have tabs drawn up for it would you?

  • @hodges4886 No, sorry, definitely no tabs. Austin probably doesn't even remember how to play this one (especially the leads). I can tell you that it was recorded on a H-S-H Strat tune BADGBE. Half of the song is just chugging that low B. The verse is just powerchords with add9 type shapes thrown in there. Sorry I can't tell you more but I am the drummer.

  • Really sick guitar tone ...

does the tonelab doing great for metal ??

i want to buy a tonelab for some heavy stuff...

    how do you feel ?

  • @neo69hk Yeah it does pretty good. The new Tonelab EX is even more versatile than the ST that I used here. I think the POD HD500 seems to be even better but will cost you a bit more than the Tonelab EX. The tone is about the same but the POD HD500 is more versatile and more adjustable. If you can really afford it, get an Axefx 2. That is really good for everything and is far better than any Tonelab or Line 6 product as far as i'm concerned.

  • 3:35 amazing omg!!!!!! wowowoww wyou made my week. i was in a musical slump. it is very rare that a song gets me out of something like that. this is fantastic

  • The name come from the Great Gatsby btw? Great stuff keep it up!

  • 3:04

    DAT GROOVE

  • @sockpaladin5 yeah dude! We love that one. That was a super collaborative effort between Austin and I. It ended up like Southern Boogie Metal meets Meshuggah. That solo that Austin did there (dubbed "The Worst Solo Ever") was perfect how it sounded so random but he followed that rhythm so perfectly. That was heavily influenced by Larry LaLonde and Frederik Thordendal.

  • that's really great sound!!! I've got the same equipment (TLST and RedWirez) but I cannot reach that quality... what did you exactly do? I mean you did turn off the cab sim and the reverb for sure, but did you layer different IRs? this seems to be only double tracked. (?) Would be nice if you could tell. Greetings!

  • @NotImune @NotImune I posted the presets earlier in here. I just ran those presets through the indicated redwirez IR's (doubletracked and panned as indicated). Some of the presets use the reverb (the melodies and clean parts), but not the rhythm tracks. The rhythm guitars and bass are run through the same bus channel where limiting is applied, then they are sent to the master channel where there is some final compression and EQ to brighten up the whole mix. Look further down for preset info

  • @jacosmith86 Thank you! Just notated them all. To bad I only have the free redwirez IRs; but since I also have others I guess I can apply them nevertheless. It's awesome what great sound you got from those Royer 121 and U87 impulses in combination with the SM57 or the 421! This just did never work out for me somehow. I allways end up only using an SM57 CapEdge_0 inches and combine it with the D6-BackOfTheCab-0inches. This somehow gave me the best results so far.

  • is there anywhere to download or buy your music?

  • @ugp456

You'll have to wait for the release man.

    Should be soon though. (:

  • How about some tabs?!?!?!!?!1!

  • I love how our first song has way more views haha.

  • @BabyFaceDestroyer Are you implying that it's only because you played on that song? ;)

Our other songs out good too!

  • @jacosmith86

    D'urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Lmao no I'm kidding, but I'm talking to my dad to see if I can head over there for Christmas and such.

  • LOVING THIS ONE..starts off so strong!

  • Hi! Are there any major differences between the SE and the LE? I'm actually thinking heavily whether I should order an SE or LE (I know they finished producing it but it's still available in some shops). Are there more models in LE? I'm not sure what should I do. :)

  • @ekmii The SE weighs 4 pounds more because it is larger with 2 pedals. It is an older model so the virtual amp models might not be as good (they hopefully updated them with the LE but I am not sure). The biggest difference is that the LE has 24 bit coversion while the SE only offers 20 bit, so the LE is automatically going to have higher audio quality. The LE offers 120 programs vs the SE's 96, and one of the cab sims is different. The LE has a "Metal DIstortion" instead of an "Auto Wah"

  • Comment removed

  • @jacosmith86 Thanks for your answer, but I mistyped it. I meant ST and not SE. So the main question is: ST or LE?

  • @ekmii They have the same number of models, only the names in the manual were changed for the LE, but the models were most likely updated for the LE. I would recommend the LE over the SE as it is 24 bit and offeres more programs. If you can be patient, VOX will most likely release something new to replace the LE in the coming months that will be even better.

  • @ekmii So you meant ST? The ST has way more models (33 compared to the LE's 16) and does not have an effects loop. The ST is a tradeoff between having lots of Models and losing the 11 reverbs (ST only has 3) and the effects loop and programmability of the LE. The models in the ST are great and you can still use other pedals before and after it then run it to an effects loop. If you have an amp with a good effects loop, you can dump it right in to the return.

  • @jacosmith86 Thanks for your answer again! I'm actually hesitating whether I should buy a Pod X3, a Pod HD or this one, but if you're able to get usable metal tones from this one then I think the ToneLab may be the obvious choice.

  • @ekmii The POD HD500 has a ton of FX and from what I've heard has some decent metal tones. Look up "Fearedse" on youtube. He has some good demos of the POD HD 300. He has one where he compares it to the Axefx and it is close in some ways. The 500 has the same tones as the 300 but way more FX (100) and programmability, plus it's like 500 dollars. I've played on an X3 before and wasn't that impressed. The TLST is good just as a preamp and the effects and stuff are usable but not the best.

  • Thumbs up if you want the whole band to get back together during my Christmas break.

    If I can get enough money scrounged up you will hear a new song during Christmas with the whole crew (;

  • @razorune That's all of them. 8 total, but some are bussed to different speaker cabs as I noted for different sections of the song.

  • @razorune We recorded with the Blackstar amp through the amp's FX send into some cab IR's and it worked really great and just sounded super fat. Haven't yet AB'ed the recorded results of the Blackstar Amp to the TLST though. That will happen in the next few days for sure. They might end up being pretty even as the TL is a great recording Preamp, it just doesn't feel quite as organic to play on live, but it records great.

  • @razorune The TLST works best direct into the return of an FX loop and plug guitar straight into the TL. This bypasses the preamp of the head or combo. I played it into the PA of my friend's new (great and affordable) Blackstar HT Stage 60 combo yesterday and it sounded good. It also made good for using the effects in front of the amp and through the regular FX loop. To be honest, I would rather just have his amp instead of the TL. Sounded real because it was real. Super versatile amp.

  • @razorune The TLST feels very good to play through into a proper Tube poweramp. As far as modelers go, it is the best value, but in a lot of ways you get what you pay for. I heard my friend play through a Line6 Spider Valve MKII that just slayed (but had a jumpy volume knob when switching presets at low power which was annoying). For rack only units, the Eleven Rack is supposed to FEEL the most like a real amp, but lacks the incredible versatility of an Axefx. Haven't played either though.

  • @razorune Redwirez IR's (or most any speaker cab IR's from any company) are convolution impulses of various speaker cabinets recorded in a professional recording studio with top-of-the-line microphones. It allows you to simulate running your guitar preamp (in our case the Tonelab ST) through a mic'd up cab in your DAW recording environment. I can match the Mesa Boogie emulation in my TLST to recording of a Mesa 4x12 cab and have it be very close to the real deal in terms of final recorded vibe

  • @razorune I used Like 10-12 different patches but I suppose I could share them with you all. I also ran the Tonelab exclusively through Redwirez cab IR's that were typically balanced with 2 different mics to get these tones so I will have to post those as well or you will never get it to sound like this. Give me some time on that as it will definitely take multiple posts. Check out Redwirez.com, it's kind of expensive but more than worth it.

  • Love all your stuff

  • dude this song is completey and totaly kick ass...how does it only have 297 views

  • @Thetourteredsoul It now has 355 views :) I tried to put the most relevant tags on there and try to get it out there to the world, but it's slow going.
