Barbara Wagner's received a rejection letter from The universal care system setup in her state run was crushing. The 64-year-old Oregon woman, whose lung cancer had been in remission, learned the disease had returned and would likely kill her. Her last hope was a $4,000-a-month drug that was prescribed for her, but the rationing board, death panel, refused to pay. What the state run Oregon Health Plan did agree to cover were drugs for a physician-assisted death. Those drugs would cost about $50.
These democrats need to grow balls like Anthony Weiner. Quit being nice and trying hard to please the republicans whoa re sitting around doing nothing but causing problems.
Grassler takes tons of money from Private Health Insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies. She should have called him out on that and said Yes he is spreading lies or he misinformed.
I've read portions of the bill, and I can't say it is any different than what we've had with medicare and medicaid. We already have socialized medicine. It's medicare and medicaid. Normally I don't believe a word this man says, but in this case, I don't believe all the hate on the bill, however, I don't think the bill will even come up for a vote in the senate, because they will be to busy dealing with the economic disaster that is fast approaching.
Wednesday at your town hall on Health Care you lied like a filthy dog to your constituents regarding the so-called "Death Panel", implying to these ignorant, frightened senior citizens that the government could pull the plug on them at will.
You flat out lied sir. You have shown yourself to be firmly in the control of the major health insurance companies and that you don't give a real rat's ass about the average American.
This is ridiculous! There is word in the bill about aged counseling, and since no one I know has ever had any problems about knowing when 'grandma' was ready to go, this obviously has some other connotation. The only thing you can gather from it is, the government will have stipulations about the retarded and the elderly that will necessitate having a meeting to say, quit giving grandma the tests and treatments to fix her, and give her the pill... They think we are stupid, and we aren't!
What the hell? That isn't implied anywhere. It makes perfect sense to discuss with the elderly topics like creating a living will while they're still healthy enough to deal with them.
Don't expect to convince other people when all you're doing is making things up.
The issue is the wonks who will decided what treatments they gov will and won't pay for will be appointed by the President without having to go through the normal checks and balances.
Right now insurance companies decide what treatments they will and won't pay for. At least the government has a reason to want to keep you alive as a taxpayer, while insurance companies don't really give a shit.
America has been the leader in Medicine for the world. People with socialized medicine in their countrys come here to solve medical problems-- why would we dismantle a system like that?
Socializing medicine removes the profit motive from medical innovation, Why would we do that?
If this is so badly needed, why does the bill not go into law until 2013?
I dont think any of these people can see just how badly this comes across. Did they not learn how this looks to the rest of Ameria? Looking like a bunch of mad British soccer fans at a mashup Sarah Palin Woodstock on bad weed!!
Please, please, please read stuff you DON'T agree with. Sometimes you can find out stuff Rush, Fox, Gingrich, Palin, Beck, etc. will never tell you. Seriously.
We have been duped for the last 25 years into voting against our own economic best interests because the corporations want it that way & have BOUGHT too many legislators in state & federal government. Ron Paul & Obama are not perfect themselves, but at least they are trying.
That is exactly why more and more are watching Fox. We have heard all the left lies and don't buy into them. But you hang in there, Pelosi, Boxer and Uncle Ted need you.
Ah, okay, I should've known. You're one of these right-wing nuts who would believe anything that makes the current president look bad because you don't like him. A person couldn't even begin to count the inaccuracies that have been proven false from Fox News. You go ahead and believe whatever Hannity and Beck is telling you.
Could it be I don't like the current POTUS because I don't like the "Changes" he wants to make. Some of us prefer to not have the government tell us what to do. That LBJ thing has really worked out well hasn't it? If there are truly that many discrepancies from Fox just go ahead and list a dozen or so. If believing in the Constitution makes me a right wing nut then you got me pegged. We will keep our constitution so when you wake up it will still be there for you.
I voted for McCain because I disagree with several of Obama's policies. I stick up for our constitution. But I don't believe what someone tells me because they're of the same political party as I am. If you'll actually read the bill, you'll see that government insurance is OPTIONAL They're not going to make you do anything. If it wasn't optional, I would not be supportive of it at all, because that would go against the constitution. Check your facts. And not with Beck, or Death Panel Palin.
Waiting for the list. Optional, you have got to be kidding. I believe our POTUS made the best point of all when he attempted to speak without aid of a telepromter. He was right. The private companies UPS and FEDEX do a much better job than the government controlled USPS. I too voted for McCain as our choices were the worst maybe ever. Again, just post the facts if you can find them on one of the NBC(GE) channels.
I'm not making a list, if you have the time, just google fox news with the words inconsistencies, false claim, etc. I agree with you, our choices for '08 were not good, and it was voting for the lesser of the two evils. Anyway, now it seems like the public option may be dropped, and if this happens I will no longer be supporting the bill because it would not reform healthcare in the slightest and the whole purpose for the bill would be pointless
The left has an agenda. They put "optional" in the bill, have have the intent of slowly tricking America into agreeing, so they can slowly add "not" just before the bill gets signed or whenever the next time they can sneak it in. You know, just like they did with the CEO's can get their incentive bonuses. How quickly you forget America, and that is what they count on! It might be optional today, but next time you turn around, there will be no other options available... use your head!
How dare McCaskill blashemy Grassley for Grassley is becoming a LIVING and BREATHING PROPHET who speaks the VOICE, WORD and WILL of GOD HERSELF! Grassley got that great idea when Sarah Palin FUCKED his PUSSY with her SUPREME and ULTIMATE PACKAGE and her GOD JUICE has gone from his PUSSY into his BRAIN! Grassley needs to get Sarah Palin to UNLEASH the WRATH OF GOD HERSELF onto McCaskill and show her that Palin has a SUPERIOR PACKAGE over Claire and is the SUPERIOR politician and statesman!
Do not fall for the fear tactics. In the comment section of my profile you will find a copy of the easier to read version of the health care bill in pdf format that was sent out by congress as well as the answers to many of the most commonly asked questions. I have also included links that will tell which repubs and dems are in the pockets of big pharma and the insurance companies along with ways in which you can contact them including phone #'s. Do the research for yourselves
I'm going to nominate you for first place in the (que scary music here) DEATH PANEL. I know you really can't be as stupid as you make yourself out to be. Right???
Remember the 2003 Medicare prescription drug bill, passed with votes of 204 GOP House members and 42 GOP Senators?..that was NOT paid for & was laid on a future Pres. to pay for? Anyone want to guess what it provided funding for?.. counseling for end-of-life issues?
Yes!!!!
Either Republicans were for death panels before turning against them--or they're lying about end-of-life counseling in order to frighten the bejeezus out of their fellow citizens... Which is it, Sen. Grassley ?
As she said in her town hall meeting, she campaigned on health care reform and was elected. So it seems to me, she's doing exactly what she was elected to do.
And as she said in her town hall meeting, if you don't like it you are more than welcomed to not vote for her when she's up for reelection.
And perhaps you could elaborate what misinformation she is spreading...
She's going to be pilloried on the left and the right, because she's looking for something that CAN get done. It making sausage, ie UGLY.
Compromise means that the bell curve's edges are gonna be unhappy. Even if we can improve the situation a little bit, its a victory imho.
Folks on the right hate taxes but never seem to meet a war they don't like. Our military expenditure is the elephant in the room folks, until we get a handle on that beast, we are totally screwed.
Ahahaha oh my god please keep arguing this is fucking hilarious....
God Damn, every time I think americans cant possibly get any fuckin stupider you guys prove me wrong...
but on a side note: please continue, this retarded debate is entertaining for the rest of the world.
