I would like to stay in a deluxe resort just like anybody would. But since you are not in the rooms that much while at WDW I can't justify paying all that extra money just to stay in a fancy smancy room.I know other amenities are included but who really cares?Value resorts baby! Got a pool got an arcade gotta food court gotta gift shop.On the bus system too. What more do you need?Ah but I know, you rich people think you have to go all out!So go! All out of money! Ha ha!LOL! This is for fun only.
I have stayed at all the hotels (yes, I am a Disney fan) and the Poly is one of the best, altho the Grand FL is definitely my favorite. Altho it's older, it has not lost any of its charm and is one of the harder hotels to get a reservation at becuz it is just that wonderful a place to stay and people come back again and again. The Unofficial Guide btw is a great great resource if you are going. I buy it every year and they are as obsessive about the details as I am...lol
We're staying in the Tahiti Longhouse in October for a week (MK view) and my Mum being obsessive like she is (lol) would like to know which side of the room the beds are? As you look into the room from the window are they left or right does anyone actually know? x
@xashleykamix, if you're looking in the window, I think most of the rooms would have beds on the left. I could be wrong about this, but my memory is that they're on the left for every room I've ever been in the Poly.
@916chipndale me too! Its my first time at Polynesian but I've stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, both parts of Port Orleans, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, The Allstars, and the Wilderness Lodge.
Life can be complicated! I work around my kid's school schedules. They go to three different schools. Once I know their plans then it is easier to find some off season time. If you call Disney up they will be more than happy to help you find off season times that will work within your schedule. Just a suggestion...
i went there and see that painting on the wall? there is three hidden mickeys in there. one is by the coconut on the tree the other one is on the wave and the third one is on the guys bathing suit

Looks really nice - but i've read things about it being 'old and outdated', is this true?

We can't afford to stay there . . . yet, but always make sure we make a dinner reservation at 'Ohana and enjoy a drink or two at the Tambu Lounge!

Have you tried looking at the prices during off season? That's how I can afford going.

Because of my job (I am a teacher), I am limited to school vacations. But thanks for the tip!
