  • I'm so confused about D-2-3-BPG and its role in oxygen-delivery. My biggest confusion is this: according to my notes, I see that a series of these graphs (with PP of O2) and pH. This curve shifts to the left with INCREASING pH. "This signals cooperatively or allostery." How? If the curve gets "flatter", that means to me that it is "harder" for the O2 to bind to the hemoglobin, and thus, an inhibitor effect. Finally high altitude folks have more BPG.

  • Great explanation!! If only you could come teach at my university..

  • Interesting my biochem professor said that in real life the actual mechanism is somewhere between a sequential and a concerted model.

However, this video states it's mostly sequential model..

  • this is a great lecture it hits all the important points without adding filler thanks

  • very good professor! thanks a million!

  • If I lived in Oregon, I would want you for a professor.
