I had a buddy introduce me to this band, and there was a solid month where we robotripped did alot of coke and listened to this every night after work. i gotta say, listening to it now kinda gives me uncomfortable flash backs.

I cant help but still like it though, I just tripped and listened to it for a month straight, literally nothing else

lol I can't believe the amount of people here who seem to be avid TMV fans yet find this hard to listen to? The beat is always so prominent through the entire album except in the actual breakdowns.

Cedric's vocals are aaaamazing I must say. Really, really shows his potential in weaving in and out of blazing fast beats.

LOL why does everyone think in terms of 'better' or 'worse' - why can't you just enjoy them all in their offerance.

I like TMV and Omar best because I truly like progressive music; I can't remember any other band that made me step back and go wow! this is simply addictive, unique and in some way more challenging and comforting music than I've ever heard. Omar is a god in the music scene. Period.

Omar has openly admitted that his solo albums are just practice for Mars Volta records. That's why sometimes you hear sequences of beginnings of songs on his solo stuff that eventually end up in Mars Volta records, it doesn't happen alot, but it's proof that what he said wasn't a lie. So take these things with a grain of salt.

I've listened to this on high quality headphones and the low-quality rip leaves many of the sounds hard to distinguish. This album is obviously bad-ass even with a low sound quality. Just imagine what the digital release will sound like.

the new album is going to be released on june 23rd and its not actually acoustic, thats just what they have been calling it. its name is octahedron

it is coming june 23rd, it is going to be very focused on the philosophy of science, it's called octahedron (an eight sided face) as they see it. it will consist of 8 tracks. it's derives from bedlam and omar's recent solo work so it's not the rumored "acoustic" album we're bin hearing about. adrian will not be appearing in it (because his focus on his own solo project) but it will still be VERY interesting. wikepedia it, you can see the track names and everything im too lazy to mention.
