Scenario Paintball SP-8 Test

I'm just getting a gun that looks like the xm-8 should I get a plastic airsoft one, a metal airsoft one, or the sp-8? Purely because I love te way the gun looks not going to use it most likely.

if you mean the xm-8, thats not the case. The reason the american army didn't adopt them is the price to usefuless ratio. the price of restocking so many soldiers, and throwing away so many m4's (our current standard use carbine) is too large in comparison with how much of an upgrade it'd be

i am gonna get a new woodsball/scenario pbmarker. i want something slightly mislim but i want high performance. i can afford anything under 2k dollars i have been looking at the bt and tippman guns.

How come all the posts I read about the SP-8 refer to it as the "halo" gun. The SP-8 is an EXACT replica of the HK XM-8, which was a project by the Army in the 1990's to find a replacement for the M16. Although I see some similarities to the "halo" assault rifle, google the Heckler and Koch XM-8 and educate yourselves. This is a REAL gun, although not in production yet.

not in production? theres loads of these suckers, the military decided not to adopt them like 4 years ago, and scraped it thats why it never lost the "X"m-8 title, they didnt disclose why they didnt want it anymore but many people believe because the cost of replaceing the m-4 and m-16 series rifles would be woefully to high, so instead theyre just gunna grab the HK-416 cause alls you have to do is switch out the upper assebly of the rifle... cost effective

its electronic.. you can only buy response triggers for tippmanns if i am correct. you can buy other triggers for smarts parts guns and other aftermarket electronics AKA boards

No need for any such thing on the SP8. There is a mode called rebound which is basically the same thing as response trigger. One pull, one shot, one release, one shot.

im thinking about getting a SP-8 because i love battle rifles (halo fan) and it would suit me, but does it shoot single rounds? sounds noobish but this will be my first paintball gun/never paintballed b4 :) ne help & tips would be great.. or sugest a 100-200£ gun with 1-15 bps good range ect thanks!

The cross between semi and full auto. You pull the trigger fast enough, and it will "ramp" up to full auto fire as long as you keep pulling the trigger

you should probably get a tippman A-5 with e-grip its a prtty sturdy gun and can take a beating easy to clean and with e-grip you can shoot up to 30 i think or 15 and its all around 200 bucks

I own an sp8 and at ramp it only goes 17bps, but thats still fast and super accurate with the stock 14" barrel!!

@1xxGnrxx1 For the price of an SP-8 you can have an SP-1 with a blackheart board and an apex barrel.. and still have change for a doughnut on the way there. I don't think the SP-8 has the low force bolt? Anyway, SP-8 vs. SP-1 with blackheart board.. SP-1 wins. Since this is theoretical, no players chosen or anything, the fact that it's a much cheaper package wins it.

i love my sp8, and yes, it has pretty much alot of the features of the HK XM-8 (hell, HK probably sold the frames of the XM-8 to Smart Parts and airsoft companies since the Army rejected the rifle. Gotta make money somehow, so turn it into a paintball gun!)

the SP-8 has a 5-point collapsible stock, 14-inch barrel plus bullpup frontal attachment, and 3 picatinny rail-like mounts which can be attached to the front

i use my sp8 in cqb scenarios and it works great. great for speedball, too

the SP8 is nothing more than an ion, which burns the tippmann line in all respects.

Cost, performance, and just as reliable if you maintain it like it should be maintained.

Tippmann dont have eyes, nor a regulator, so you be the judge of whats better.

not a combat. it only goes up to 13 bps with all the mods you can get for the speed, which is just an electronic triggerframe. it's crappy because it ways so much. it feels like i'm carrying around a bag of bricks. but it is accurate, easy to clean, and just a bad-ass gun. i have a 16" barrel, 72ci n2 tank, and an eVLution 2 hopper. i feel confident with my gun even though it weighs like 6-7 lbs.

yhea i played Woodsball whit my friends for the first time whit my Sp8 and it ROCKS :) we only had time for 3 rounds but we won them all :D

Well it matters what kind of a pulse it is and what kind of a halo hopper it is. I have a Halo B hopper on my SP8. People say its a pain in the ass to get your hand into the Halo B hopper to clean it but i just is wrap a piece of cloth around a stick and do clean it that way. SP8s are one of the best paintball guns for woodsball on the market. So if you do play woodsball and play it alot than i suggest the SP8. Good vid btw, SP8 all the way :)

yes by far the pulse loads up to 40 bps a halo is only 20-22 bps and halos are heavy
