The Comic Strip: Mr. Jolly Lives Next Door (Part 1)

Question for anyone who watched alot of British comedy around the time of Comic Strip Presents....or probably a bit later. Does anyone know the name of a (Brit?)comedy series about a guy on a motorbike (American style bike) who rides around and meets strange people. My memory is really vague, but I think it had an Elvis song as a title song and the show had a very off -beat, bleak, existentialistic tone. Would love to see again what I watched as a kid, and only remember vaguely.

my dad didnt get it (he laughed at last of the summer wine for fuck sake)

@rubbishreferees all the comic strip episodes, including the film The Supergrass, have been on dvd in a box set since at least 4 maybe 5 years. only thing missing in the set is Eat The Rich. hope that helps.

No it ain't mate; is just the theme tune, written for the film by Rowalnd Rivron and SImon Brint. Chord structure not quite the same as "It's Not Unusual", but clearly inspired by/ripped off it.

Thanks for the up - not seen this since the 80s but still know every word! This was without a doubt the best episode of the whole strip. Rick, Ade and Nigel are the funniest guys of my generation. When I moved to Fulham in the early 90s and was in a line in MacDs Hammersmith and all three of them were standing in front of me...I was young and just about managed a very weak hello...Just thought that I would share that sad be of info.

Yeah - I was 21 in '91 and MacDs is Mcdonalds! There's always celbs where I live - I nearly ran Al Murray over the other day! He is a funny guy and it would have been a shame to put him on an insurance claim form!
