Yeah Tash's mum must have commited suicide because of the affair between Michael and Emily. Which explains why they both haven't really been in contact with Tash's grandparents and why Michael has hallucinations of Tash's mum starring at him like hes done something wrong.

That's what I'm thinking too, plus one twist. . . Tash tried to go in after her mum but ended up drowning herself (would explain her recuring dream of drowning), leaving Michael to have to choose which one to save. . . I was colombo in a former life ^_^ lol
