  • what are the scents for?

  • @TheBekahhbaybee its for anesthesia. its an alternative to getting the IV.

  • @emily48628 It helped me breathe

  • @biganthony1986 Thanks:)

  • @bulletsbaby95 Thats so awesome!

  • What was on her face at 2:43?

  • Excellent footage.

  • I'm sorry the surgery hurt so much :( I have scoliosis too, and my two curves in my back are REALLY big. I'm having it done on January 27th. I only really have one thing to ask; were you at all nervous right before the surgery or did you have stress releif meds? How did you cope?

  • @KoolCuz3 i was nervous at first, but then i started watching videos on youtube of other peoples surgeries and i wasn't nervous anymore. :)

  • @AdrienneNicole1995 Same here. Your video helped me a lot. Thank you :)

  • @KoolCuz3 your welcome! I'm glad it did

  • I got my surgery done on the 13th in LA. I'm 17 years old & am able to walk and move but feel as if there are the bars in the back. Can you help me out? I'm only a week along

  • @HitRECjanae it feels like theres rods in your back for a little while but it will get better later on.. i hope you feel better!

  • wow! i had the exact same surgery done, both shared the same experience!

it was so worth it, i had mine done in nov 2009, i'm 16 years old now!

which hospital did you have your surgery at? :)

  • hw many degrees was yr curve?

  • Did you get a urine catheter

  • @eugene6833 yes

  • Comment removed

  • OUCH!

  • @claton95 yeah it hurt for a while but it was worth it =]

  • Oh my god.. The moving and walking part looked really painfull...

  • @ClaudiaCorreia20 ya it was painful but worth it :)

  • so i'm 15 years old with a 45* curve and im getting my surgery in a few months. i was wondering since its been awhile since your surgery if theres still a scar down your back?

  • @myluckeenumber13 yes theres still a scar but it's barely noticeable its light light pink

  • I have a 45* curve...they might operate yet but they arent sure. Should know next month.

Did your back hurt before the surgery a lot?

  • @MissParshall ya my back hurt and i had some breathing problems.

  • did they do minimally invasive surgery to you? how many curves do u have before.. im planning to have a surgery too, my curve is 70 dgrees

  • @sojuloveshappy i had 1 curve of 62 degrees.

  • @Scolo1234 im from Massachusetts

  • I am 45 year old woman with scoliosis. 30 years ago they wanted me to have surgery. I was scared. So I didn't do it. But with today's technology I would do it in a heart beat. Looking at your x-rays, my spine looks like yours did. I am very happy that you had a great outcome!

  • @mfilitti thank u!

  • I'm 15 and a boy. Did u feel any other pain besides in the neck? And how bad was it? Also, how was walking and bending your back?

  • @rlrg808 i dont have any pain at all. walking and bending was fine after a month.

  • @AdrienneNicole1995 you had to walk to the OR? my twin best friends were already in beds when the nurses came to get them for their surgery.

  • @MissMaddy881 i chose to walk in the OR...u didnt have to

  • mine grow like 2degees a month becuz boys really dont stpo growin till thier like 23 25 or so

  • my surgery was crazy,im a boy so mine was much more different from yours. therapy wasnt that hard for me but it was anoying they picked the worst time to get me out of bed nd wlk,it is worth it tho mine was 56 degrees bye tha way

  • Morphine and valium was my best friend lol

  • They put me to sleep while i wasn't on the operating table but lying next to it. Breathing the anesthesia was the weirdest ever. I felt like I was being dragged underneath water and couldn't get back up!!! I looked the exact same after I woke up. The surgery hurt so much because of muscle spasms, but it only really hurt for the first four days!!! Omg this reminds me so much of my own surgery!!!! And I agrree getting the surgery was the best decision, even if it wasn't easy!

  • how did you get a video in the operating room? i only had videos from before and after. they wouldnt let my parents go in!

  • @lollipopleahh123 all hospitals are differennt maybe she begged for her mom to be there

  • @natachuli97 cool :D

  • @natachuli97 im srry to hear that =/ but it was worth it in the end <3 :) where did you have your surgery done?

  • Okey it looks like your in pain -____- im scared. mines on November 19 :( in two weeks....

  • @Cinnnyy yes i was in pain, but the physical therapy and morphine really helped out a lot! Dont be scared! It's not as scary as you think it is once you are going through it. I hope your surgery goes well and don't hesitate to ask more questions :)

    ~Adrienne

  • @AdrienneNicole1995 i remmeber my 2nd on ti only tock 10 sec thene i was out my 4th on is an the 29th of dec

  • @AdrienneNicole1995 wow my back is wors thene you

  • well im getting surgery soon nov 23 to be exact hahaha ! and the top curves at 60 i trhink and the bottom is at 18 i thinkkk .. but how long were you outta school for ? and i heard u cant get tthe stitches wet for the 1st two week so how do u wash ur hair ( ik now werid questions.. but just curious:) )

  • @reannaa1996 I had my surgery during the summer, but I would say that you can go back to school around 3-4 weeks after surgery with someone helping you carry books around and stuff. I didn't get stitches; they were different. It was like glued in..idk it was a weird thing but its not stitches so i could wash my hair and do stuff lol. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have of the surgery :) I hope your surgery goes well! don't worry! its not as bad as you think it may be [=

    ~Adrienne

  • I'm 14 years old, and my curve is around 45 degrees. Is that alright? I am using a brace which is correcting it to 20 degrees but after i am done growing it will return to 45.

  • @hillarybug10123 In your case, the brace isn't really doing much. When I found out about my scoliosis, it was around 55 degrees lol..and it wouldnt help so i didnt get a brace and got the surgery. its sooo worth it! =] if you have any questions feel free to comment here or on my channel! :)

    ~Adrienne

  • heyim haveing surgery soon i was wondering is it really scary like when there putting you to sleep? and how is your back feeling now?

  • omg.. Im so scared .. I might have to go thru this sooner or later :( .. Btw what were your curves before surgery? Mine is at 50 and 19..

  • just wondering what was that blue tube attached 2 the mask that came out of your mouth?

  • @MsPurple222 it hooks up the breathing mask to the actual device that it comes from

  • @blahblahblahblahbl91 awesome! when did you have your surgery?

  • i have scoliosis, and i haven't seen anyone about it in a while, but i feel its getting worse, my back curves in, but all the videos ive seen the girls backs curve kind of to the side if you get me? anyway any help or tips on it would be great.

  • @chloedub1 hi! feel free to ask me any questions you want :)

  • @AdrienneNicole1995 when you are recovering in the hospital, push yourself to do the things that you may not want to do; it'll benefit later on. :)

  • NightlingerA, how are you doing now? i hope you're doing great!

  • were you crying at the end? :/

  • @Strawberry1139 a tiny bit. it hurt for me a little plus with all the medication you act a little goofy haha :) if yyou have any questions feel free to ask :)

  • i'm getting my surgery on fall break and im scared, were you scared??

  • @mileycm123 I was scared at first but later on i became less scared because i talked to a girl who has already been through it and its not as bad as you think it will be. if you have any questions you can comment on my channel or email me at adriennexx@gmail.com :)

  • @TheRossBeast thank you!

  • @pbqp

  • I had scoliosis surgery when I was 15, painful but I was able to walk it off. Feel like a robot sometimes because my back isn't that flexibel anymore. Took 3 weeks before I got home, had a second surgery the second week because the wound kept bleeding.

  • @Crusher8000

ya I agree with you, it was verrry painful but it was worth it. Sometimes I dont feel flexible sometimes but It's fine for me. I dont mind.

  • @AdrienneNicole1995 your right because i also have scoliosis and those 3 days after the surgery turning jolting... VERY PAINFUL

  • @rexerexer66 yeah

  • @JenJen181

yeah that is weird! lol feels like 2 years ago this happened. when do u go back to childrens?

  • i totally know exactly what you went through. i had 2 surgerys. i feel your pain.

  • @heather21rikkonen

  • yess!

  • Hey Adrienne!

Great video! Wow that brought back memories of my surgery! I am so glad you do not regret the surgery, I don't either. Do you remember doing the anesthesia? That seems really stressful. They had mine in a mask and in an iv so it didn't take long but I remember it being hot. I didn't get flavors though! That's cool. I am sorry you had a hard time walking and moving again, but I am so glad that you are recovering and doing better! Hugs, ~Katie

  • yes i do remember the anesthesia(: funny(:

  • aww adrienne! great video! u were so strong! im soo proud of u!!!! =] but u walked to the or? haha i was wheeled to the OR from my pre-op bed! =] love ya!<3
