Even if it wasn't the intent of the director or writer i've always thought the last scene was either a dying dream or the afterlife. All the other time traveling he did had no affect on the future. He still died from head trauma, he tells the doctor how to save the kid, just like she said he had. Time appears set, but now telling the mom to turn her life around suddenly changes time and starts everything over? I can only assume it's the afterlife or a plot hole and I I'd rather assume the former

Wouldn't you figure he'd pick something more happy, like in bed with his fantasy girl?

@LyndaHudson the alternate love scene was pretty intense and I wish they had decided to keep it because for yyou to have such an overall instense movie you needan intense love scene to go with it. was not expecting when he put her leg over his shoulder during the scene.

The alternate sex scene is not bad... :P But I really loved the actual love scene.
