I know every word to every one of their songs. PE is the BEST RAP GROUP EVER!!!!!!!! Everytime I hear Lil Wayne or Gucci or Young anything I cry because Hip Hop is dead and it's not going to come back. PE FOREVER!!!!!
This is what hip hop started out as to be, a voice of those without one. telling what was happening in the hood, not a minstal hood story, but what was truly going on. wake up new rappers , wake up!
LMBO love this track, im oply 15, but this old school music i would listen to over most stuff made today, we need more good beats and rhymes like these
It's amazing how 20 years later PE's sound is still ahead of its time. The concept of this song and video along with the fact they are making a social statement without sounding preachy (looking at you Dead Prez) .... Public Enemy (still) number ONE!
hey can censorship get any weird they bleep out the word god , at the begginig of the song, in association with one of my favorite bands and this song...are you tube or the original censors
sugesting they dont have the right to use one of the most over used words in the english language ...what are they suggesting i wonder.......
No...not really. Its just the censors (FCC) considers the word "damn" only profanity when its used in the phrase "god damn". Other than that...you can use it all day long. So its up to whoever is producing a "piece" to decide which of the two words will be censored and I guess most people choose "god". Go figure.
The way it should be. P.E. was never the same without GRIFF. Or maybe just sign of the times. I still think Chuck D turned his back on Griff. Griff stood up for what he believed in. He was wrong in blaming all jews instead of just the Zionists. Misinformed, sadly.
Here is a true tale bout the ones that deal are the ones fail..We gotta fix it..check out the justice and how THEY RUN IT..sellin, smellin, sniffin, riffin, and brothas try to get swift in..sell to they own, rob a home, while some shrivel to bone, like comatose walkin around please dont confuse this with the sound Im talkin bout BASE!

when we were brought here we were robbed of our name, robbed of our language. we lost our religion, our culture, our god. and many of us by the way we act, we even lost our minds. real hip-hop lives on!!!
Classic!! I always wondered how the old school rappers feel about rap music today. I mean, they created an art and now it has turned from art into constant sampling, foul mouth, disrespecting garbage. All I know, is when rap 1st came out there was peace, respect , enjoyment and there wasn't a recession at that time!
in the name of the blessed God "lorenzojhwh" proposes to all the religions of the world humbly, in the spirit of Assisi wanted by all the holy fathers of the world and called by the holy Pope John Paul II to dedicate every Monday to pray for the: 1) peace of the world 2) perfect harmony between religions 3) true freedom of religion in the world. So God bless us all: AMEN Peace and prosperity is in your borders my dear brother so much loved and desired in all the world!
I don't know much about Public Enemy, I just recently got to listening to some of their stuff. I like what I hear though, and I definitely understand a lot of the oppressed feelings of different races.
just in this Red Alert. I saw this video 500 times over the past 20 years and it wasn't until recently that I realized DJ Red Alert handed the news reporter the "red alert" hahahahaha
PE and NWA were dichotomies that brought the plight of the Black community to the forefront. However, the control and distribution of the music led us to the derivatives of NWA, i.e., Dre, Eminem, and 50, who now personify gansta rap and how it is represented in the main stream media. What would rap be like now if we had popular descendants of PE flourishing in the industry? Makes you wonder why the Library of Congress chose 'Fear of a Black Planet' for preservation.
Simple...gangsta rap is destructive in nature to its own people. They cannot allow the true undergrounds revolutionary's flourish in the main stream. Groups such as Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, Outterspace...to name a few, would lift the consciousness of the sheeple, and that my friend would have them thinking.......
WHY would you have Khalid Abdul Muhammed on it?! the guy and his rhetoric are just as bad as any other irrational racist. i've always admired chuck d for his great. thought-provoking lyrics. i listen for public enemy NOT elijah muhammed

AMERIKKKA IS BABYLON, and they oppress other countries that resist the masquerade of democracy. NEWSFLASH: GOD'S LAW IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE OR A VOTE.
"My man Daddy-O once said to me/He knew a brother who stayed all day in his Jeep/And at night he went to sleep/And in the morning all he had was sneakers on his feet"
This is why I will NEVER get behind people like Rick Ross and Young Jeezy!
Brilliant intelligent lyricism, the video concept may be unmatched (hard to go against Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos) . What a time for Hip Hop music, the unity we'll probably never get back, Bambatta, notice DJ Red Alert giving the "red alert"? I'm glad I grew up in this era where Hip Hop had variety, so unlike today.
We had one group NWA that had an impact. For me personally... RUN DMC did it, but PE had me live it. I will never get enough of this video...the commercials, flav, Chuck on the chair.... FRESH!!!
I know every word to every one of their songs. PE is the BEST RAP GROUP EVER!!!!!!!! Everytime I hear Lil Wayne or Gucci or Young anything I cry because Hip Hop is dead and it's not going to come back. PE FOREVER!!!!!

Brilliant intelligent lyricism, the video concept may be unmatched (hard to go against Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos) . We had one group NWA that had an impact. For me personally... RUN DMC did it, but PE had me live it. I will never get enough of this video...the commercials, flav, Chuck on the chair.... FRESH!!!
