@ExtremeFaithInJesus You still need a key. An inalambric key, that works inside the car (in your pocket) and when you get near the car, so it opens it self.
I have looked at Nissan cars off and on over the last few years. Everytiome it is the same. Nissan is at the top of the price category and at the bottom in features. It just doesnt give enough for the money. Need more value.
QUESTION!!! "16 YEAR OLD FIRST TIME BUYER" Hi everyone im thinking about getting this for my first car I just want this to go around hot boxing it with friends and just fucking around? will this be good for that.
DON'T BUY THIS CAR!! I BOUGHT ONE IN 2008 AND IT'S GOT TONS OF PROBLEMS! WORST CAR I'VE EVER OWNED BY FAR. CVT TRANSMISSION IS ALMOST 100% SURE TO FAIL, THEY HAD TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON IT TO 120K. MINE ALSO NEEDS A NEW ENGINE AT 81K. I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONY AND I STILL OWE 8000 ON IT. I HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN PAYING FOR A CHUNK OF METAL THAT DOESN'T RUN OR MY CREDIT. DONE ALL PROPER MAINTENANCE.
@crunchycrispybacon u my friend don't know how to care for your car i have the same model car as u brought one in 2008 and it's still running strong like if i brought it today. i have 85,000 miles on my car and my engine and trans are still in mint condition. so idk what u is complaining about but this car is one of the best cars for the lowest money right now.
As far as generic cars go, this one is nice. I'd even consider getting it if i can't get the car i want; but nissan ruined it with the ugly as hell 2012 version.
i wanna trade in my yaris for this, i want a little more power but not give up my good gas miles and this would be perfect :) plus i could use the extra space in the HB for my business deliveries and such and perfect for family
@tom11zz884 ... CVT's and performance do NOT belong in the same sentence. They are for efficiency ONLY as the driving experience is certainly a sluggish one. And what people are no longer buying manuals?? ONLY lazy North Americans are no longer buying manual transmissions. Manuals outsell autos in the rest of the world.....
23mpg sucks for light weight cheap car i mean come on!!!! Are all nissans bad on gas my frontier drinks it up! Versa does not hold a jock to kia and kia less money
I just bought the basic model and it's just fantastic. I had aan Explorer and it was killing me with the gas prize. The versa has a very smooth movements considering its price. I'm happy with it and won't change for nothing!
I have a 2007 Versa Hatchback that I bought used for $6,000 simply because I'm 18 and don't have lots of needs for a car. The mile count is near 40,000 which is ok. I bought this car because I knew the owner of the dealership, and he helped me get it for the right price. Also, the car works and looks great. For my age, it's a perfect car. My first was a 96' Sentra that I got from my cousin, but it sadly broke down last year.
i don't know why, but for some reason i really like this car. just something about it. i mean its a lot of bang for the buck, but the exterior styling bothers me and the interior impresses me for its price. and there are cars much better then this and also a lot of bang for the buck, but i really like this car some odd reason.
Great bang for the buck but ugly as sin. I would never drive one of these. Got to be one of the ugliest cars on the market, this or the Yaris at least.
@LAUGHmaniac123 i just recently got it as my first car. Its such a reliable car it has a great smoothe ride an handling it could be better going up hills but its actually pretty peppy an i did some upgrades such as new mats i put a new pioneer navigation in it so sexy lol..
My roomate has Versa with the 1.8 litre engine. The car is roomy inside, but he never gets the claimed gas mileage. Over the past year with mixed driving he's averaging 23 mpg. A technician at the Nissan dealer said that's normal and one of the major gripes he's hearing from other Versa owners. Roomate said he's gonna trade it in ASAP for a Suzuki SX4 with AWD that gets about the same MPG's but is great for hitting the slopes! Versa is still decent though I think.
@Scoltz1 I concur regarding less than advertised gas mileage...I have owned a 2008 Versa for three years and I average 23.6 mpg with mixed driving. The Driver's Seat is very comfortable with good lumbar support. Not mentioned during the KBB video, however, is that although this car is 200 lbs heavier than other cars in its class it does seem to get blown around on the highway in a cross wind. Has a real sporty ride for a small car (i have the automatic). It has all the bells and whistles.
yeah Vera aint a bad car, I have a hatch back 2007 one and coming up to 115,000 miles by next week so yeah my job kills it looks like im about have no choice but go back 2 newer cheap versa or something in a year!
the one thing i'm concerned about is acceleration in a manual off the light. I get a lot of retards who want to go slow at the light entering an on ramp, and I like passing them.

The fit doesn't drive as good and it is not as spacious as versa. I used to sale nissans and we drove everything compare to all nissan cars and in versa comparison, fit did not compare as far as ride quality and roominess. Beside you get some features on a versa that you dont get on a fit.
my wife and I bought a versa 1.8 6sp back in july of 08, car just turned 12k. i (26 male driver) get 27 MPG on the highway while my wife (typical woman driver) gets 33 with air condition. the car handles decent, but racing turns at high speed (60ish) show massive understeer, and suspension show its limits driving that hard. its not the fastest, but it is fun
I have my 2009 for almost a year and I love it. I don't baby my cars and I drive a lot and I love this little car. By the way for a small car, this car is very very spacious inside. It feels like a mid-size from the inside.
Very, very good car,i like it...i'd even buy one ! cause it's cheap and it doeswhat a car is supposed to do...get you from point A to point B,although ..i'm a little concerned about the styling...
in the video it says the mpg in city is 30, highway 36 which i don't agree. I got my 2007 nissan versa. i got like 30-33 on highway and maybe 22-25 in city!
I love my little red Versa!! It's the best ever and all i really had to do was buy a cheap FM transmitter for my ipod. That's alli need. It's great for transportation and i only fill up my tank once a month, if that. (Granted i only drive to the university but still!) My car is great! I LOVE it. :D
I need some cheap 4 door transportation and the 1.6 Base seems interesting. But Consumer Reports is just so-so on the reliabilty. In fact, the top-of-the-line model was hit pretty bad for reliabilty....the base not as bad.
The Fit is just to pricey, even in base form and I'm having trouble finding a 4 door 5 speed Yaris hatch....thanks to "Cash-for-Clunkers". Not sure what I'm going to do just yet.
i got mine bare with just ac. now i have a touchscreen radio. tinted windows and black 17 in rims for less than you would pay for the sl. and i love it.
i love to look up cars on kelly blue book on youtube and i take in everything that they say but i noticed a lot of companies are competing to show the most spacious entry car, that being said i noticed kelly blue book said that you may not like this car if you regularily need to accomodate a third passenger, i think that is so wrong cause i just tested the nissan versa hatchback today and there was a lot of room and i am an average sized big guy
What she means is that it is difficult to accomodate a third passenger in the middle seat of the back row (three passengers in back). It is a very tight squeeze with three people back there.
oh, ok that is somewhat true, i think that if there is more than enough room for 2 people in the back then there should be enough room for the third person but i will still agree now that you said it that way, thanks kbb love the vids
The 2011 Nissan Versa is a car for smart people who knows that all you need in a car is to get around. The Versa can achieve 30 mpg. Thats Honda Civic Territory. All for just $11,425.
These cars suck!!! I have one, and I would never buy a nissan again. Brake and AC problems, and the engine is starting to knock. Would not recommend to buy.
The Versa is the cheapest new car you can get, at least here int he DC area. The base model is slightly above the Hyundai Accent. I am tempted to get one as a backup (for when the other family fleet is down). My daily driver is a Malibu. We also have a Fusion and a Dodge Minivan. The 'Vette is a toy, it is the weekend car, but we probably put less than 3,000 miles a year on it. And it is useless half the year, when its snows. Might think of replacing the 1985 Vette with a Versa.
Opppsss. correction i just looked out the window, my daily driver is an Impala (not Malibu). Both Impala and Fusion are almost new. Had to replace my HHR because it gave me all kinds of body aches. Didn't think it was that comfortable. My cousin bought a Versa, and she loves it. It replaced her ancient 180K miles three cylinder Chevy Metro (Suzuki Swift).
I think you would like the versa. I got a versa BASE with nothing except air. It is a smooth ride and was only 11600! Its a nice 5 speed and I can't complain. Very roomy inside and GREAT gas mileage. My car didn't even come with a radio but I changed that real quick w a 100 cd player w hd and a i pod plug. Love the car.
Well it depends. If you have installed a radio before it shouldn't be that bad. However, I would recommend having best buy do it. I drove all over town looking for a wiring harness and couldn't find one. Even best buy didn't have it. I ended up cutting the factory harness. Don't do that unless you have the wiring guide! I found it online. Nissan was stupid and made two wires the same color even though they named them differently. The nissan adapters at wal mart won't work. good luck!
me too! we just bought an 09 versa base just like you are saying, and we added a nice stereo with an ipod plug for 150 dollars...in my opinion, the versa is the best in terms of price and comfortability.
I was wrong, there is versa in my country but using da name Latio. Its imported so its twice more expensive than its competitors. But da wierd thing is people thinks dat Latio is da best in its segment becoz its da most expensive LOL
The 09 Versa Sedan here in Canada is on for $13,688 plus taxes and freight. It has Air, Windows,Locks,Heated mirrors,Am/Fm/Cd player,Intermittent wipers,Front,Side and Curtain Air bags.
I thought your figure seemed like a really low price Jim4575! Is that in Canadian dollars or USD?
I found a 2009 Versa near my home in Ohio at Thayer Nissan that has them priced for $15,815, which I thought was an extremely affordable deal. Plus, they also offer a $750 factory rebate and a recent college graduate discount of $500 cash back!
Here in the DC area, there is a dealership in Virginia that has them for as low as $7,900 for the model with no a/c, no radio, and no power accessories. Interior color includes every shade of black. You also get the small 1.6. From there you can get a base model with A/C for about 10,000 and on with AC and Automatic for about 11,500 and up from there for ones with power windows, cd changer and the bigger 1.8 engine and alloys. Those can go for about $15,000 to $16,000.
For $7900, even though it's a barebones version, if you can live without the a/c and power options it still seems like a good amount of bang for the buck. Once all the options are added, $15k to $16k is getting a bit pricey for the way that car handles (bouncy, choppy, sloppy) as compared to other cars in the $15k to $16k range. So with Versa I think it's either buy it below 10k, or move up to a better quality car in the 15k to 16k range.
great! Here in singapore altough i do not own one it called the Latio, for 60KSGd whics is 30-40K USD. In sinfapore it comes in standard with 1.5 engine, leather seats standard, reverse sensors, keyless enty
It's a good value but it isn't very attractive at all...

What are the prices like elsewhere?

For $8995 there fine but heck a used corolla get way get mileage and kicks its butt in race.

If you're saying this, you havn't driven a Versa with CVT transmission. Don't knock it until you've driven it.
