Also consider that under Article III of the U.S. Constitution it states that no single state can be divided into multiple states. Making the federal governments document with Texas, null and void. :)
I'm not arguing with ya, I just want to point out that Texas does have a military. The National Guard is a state funded military branch. That means each state funds their own National Guard units.
Are you serious? We are a country of individual states. Texas was a country before joining the union and has it's own constitution stating that it can secede if it chooses to do so. It also states that we have a right to keep our guns regardless of what the Fed. Govt. says.

The only time Texas ever successfully seceded was from Mexico & the man who lead that secession, Sam Houston, opposed secession from the Union. But, given a choice, most Americans would rather kick Texas out of the Union, anyways. I am a strong supporter of the Union but it may get to the stage that, the policies pursued by the Washington DC Beltway elites become so divorced from and so injurious to the core ethos of the US Consitution and there is no political nor legal option available to remedy that situation, that it then becomes legitimate to withdraw Texas from the Union and establish a Sovereign Texas nation state or to act in concert with other States and reestablish the Confederacy.

States are to control what is within their own boards. The Feds are supposed to control things that are between states and outward facing from the states. We are in fact a UNION of INDIVIDUAL STATES. Hence the name/acronym U.S.A.
According to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, although Texas entered the Union with the understanding it could leave if not happy, it has since that time negotiated with the agreement it could divide into four separate states but not leave the Union.
However the Constitution says that all Americans have the right and obligation to rebel/secede.

As far as Texas goes, its written in their state constitution that they have retained the right to secede from the union if they so desire?
Also consider that under Article III of the U.S. Constitution it states that no single state can be divided into multiple states. Making the federal governments document with Texas, null and void. :)

@goku2525: I may also add that's assuming that Texas v White holds up under review, and considering that the plaintiffs tried to have it both ways on a bond issue, and it was 1869 after the war (the dissenting opinion is humorous), there is a larger than you realize chance it COULD be overturned.

What the hell are you talking about? The echoes are probably due to the fact that she is speaking into a massive array of speakers contained within the south porch of the capitol building. The footage displayed here is exactly as it occurred on the scene. Comparison to other recordings of the same event will make that obvious. Nor do I have the slightest malicious intent toward Ms. Medina.
