  • Oh! I see now. You WALK across the stream! I have always been trying to swim across those 1 foot deep streams. No wonder I was having trouble and getting soaked.

  • Consider the state of the nation, when people have to be taught how to ford a stream...

    Thx for the tips! Hehehehehehe

  • Riiiight! then after about five more miles, you wonder why you have blisters!!! Try taking your shoes off and crossing in your socks or socks with foam or insoles. Then you can enjoy the rest of your trip with DRY feet.

  • Actually wet feet have nothing to do with blisters. Improperly fitting shoes and dehydration are the most common cause of blisters.

  • Really? I thought ten more miles all sopppy would kind of soften up the skin on your feet. I didn't know about dehydration, either. Maybe a good vid about blisters next!

  • I used to think that wet feet were a major cause of blisters also. After much listening to the wise words of ultramarathoners and seasoned long-distance hikers and putting their advice to my own tests I've come to realize the two things are only related through happen-chance.

  • I'm sure having trench foot would not help the blister situation any. I agree with ecrow6.

  • I wear, and I suggest others wear highly breathable and highly drain-able shoes which dry quickly thereby helping to avoid the nasty trench-foot.

  • nice, I'll try it!

  • Get out there and get it done!
