  • ooooh the altos have a pretty part! i like.

  • I still love it :)

  • not the same name your thinking of...

  • Aahh... the BEST comment on this enTIRE-TIRE page by FAR.

  • umm okay all you juniors who are talking smack right now....you guys should just try harder next time. we won and that's it. can't replay it. can't undo it. and if u want to win.....well u better start praying....

  • hahaha aww that's so cute! :D

  • Why we cheered a lot:

    - we were just sitting there through all the awards, hoping; anxiety was pretty high by the time they got to the co-ed award

    - co-ed was probably the award we expected the least

  • hahaha i love that!

    you're funny.

yeahh your class is a bit..... off.

i think "off" is a good word.

  • yes i'm bowing on my knees everytime they pass me :P

because i love them soooo much

but srsly, i dont hate the sohps. they're purty cool...it's just that a few of them fuck it up for the rest of their class!

yeah we didn't show off that much last year :P

    even though we shoulda.

  • HA! You guys thinking youre sweeping next year...HILARIOUS.

  • haha dewbis- don't be mean to the sophs!!!

they can dream all they want :P

  • :) I love our song and I love the way we sounded.

Word to the wise: stop with the negativity, its not like we paid of the judges or something absurd like that. Juniors, I think you guys have the best voices but your guys' song this year.... it was boring. Your voices out did the song. Freshmen... they were good for freshmen. Seniors, uhm... the song, idk.

If you wanna talk shit, dont. Just do better next year. Duh.

  • lol a lot of this song was loo loo loo

    i never noticed =D

  • lol...thnx.you're the first junior that commented us like that. :)

good job on your guys songs too.

  • i dont remember agreeing to this salute....

  • me either. i dont agree at all.

  • Welcome to the very exclusive Sophomore Co-Ed Winners Club. We the Kamehameha Schools class of 1976 salute you and welcome you. Well done!

  • Tee hee and so does the Kamehameha Schools Class of 2007! lol...Go GREEN!!!

  • YAY 2011!!!!! OMA'OMA'O REPRESENT!!!!!

we did an amazing job you guys and we definitely deserved to win. I'm so proud to say that I am part of this class =)

use the negativity as motivation and the positivity too

we sounded simply beautiful and next year you guys SWEEPING!!!!!

  • plus, the last two chords,we all had different notes.the alto 2 had a different note from alto 1 and same with sophanos, tenors and basses. its not an "easy"arrangement.

  • can we all just get over it?

'oma'oma'o won whether you like it or not

  • amene to that! haha mean da green...as '07 would've put it....or green is mean....as '11 puts it haha

  • i know!there is so much people still saying things about their song or our song.

everyone just has to get over the fact that 2011 won co-ed.

  • An alumnus from the c/o 2007 saying a big CONGRATS to the class of 2011! Everyone needs to stop downing the class of 2011 for winning what was, in my opinion, rightfully theirs. Firstly, this was, BY FAR, not an "easy" arrangement. If you've ever sung an Herb Mahelona arrangement in your life, you'd know that his chords are far from ordinary, and not the easiest to nail. And, from someone who was actually there, and decently adept in music and 'olelo, 2011 did the best out of the 4 coeds!

  • i agree.our chords for this song was pretty hard and we tried so hard to get it down. i was listening to every classes song and i have to say that we did do the best.

  • Well of course you do...people always think they sound the best no matter how obvious it is that they aren't

  • Q-WEE-AH!! >to my fellow track&field weightman

to be honest, I think the class of 2010 shoulda won coed. and if you think that I think that everyone else thinks that we think you shoulda lost, should I care? I think not. haha, not a hate comment, just minor criticism. your song was very easy to sing, hence why I think you guys won. be prepared for next year, alani is taking dis competition by storm!

    btw: congrats

    -bicyle

  • ho shit the dramas!

to sophs: dont worry- we got the same flack that you guys are getting.

although i really really really wanted to win, i accept that we didn't. and in the arena, i didnt think yall sounded that good, but listening to this-- yall killed. so congrats.

    <3dezsha :D

  • I am apart of the class of 2011, and everyone needs to realize, that its the judges' decision not anyone elses. WE WON. FACE IT. We aren't salty with the fact that the Junior women won or that the senior men won. So everyone needs to understand that WE WON and there is nothing that anyone can do about it.

  • I wouldn't call it being salty, just disagreements in opinions.

And if I were you guys, I would be upset that you did not win women cause that was a trophy you definitely deserved.

  • thank you for that bottom comment, i thought the womens did sound very good and deserved that award, our womens director put in so much love into her song.

  • You guys have a great leader. Herbert Mahelona really knows your voices, and I hope you stick with his arrangements for the co-ed songs. Interesting that Manu Boyd picked out all the winners by saying either "wow" or "outstanding." He said that for the Senior men, the junior women, and the sophomore co-ed. He really knows his stuff!

  • Fantastic job, c/o 2011. You had our entire section in tears with your performance (along with the junior girls). Your two performances were the BEST of the evening. perfect dynamics, perfect harmony, and so much emotion. I'm not surprised with all of the negative comments on this page because of jealousy, but you guys have a lot to be proud of. I thought you had no chance against the seniors and juniors, but after hearing all the performances, you guys had it in the bag. EXCELLENT job!

  • This class is obviously receiving negativity. In the ending, the scores have proven that this class has done THE best. Remember, the judges are EXPERTS. They critique each song on its language, music, and ETIQUETTE altogether, not just overall sound. I believe the impact of emotion on the lyrics was outstanding in this performance. The other classes did VERY WELL! The juniors, especially, had great control! Anyway, good job, sophomores! Use the hate as motivation for next year's competition. :)

  • I apologize to anyone whom I may have offended, i was not trying to make any judgements about anyone. Even though it clearly came off that way. In my personal opinion, freshmen were outstanding, and to their director, fat props, just didn't work out. The juniors were awesome as well, i honestly thought they were going to, and should have won. I was very surprised when the sophomores won. I would have guessed that the seniors would have tied for first. again, very sorry.

  • honestly having experienced song contest and listening to many classes sing including some of the more talented classes, based off of watchin all the classes, i honestly have no idea how this class won, the men have no manly sound, and the women are average, and their language is pretty bad

  • On contrary, I believe the language is not bad. It is probable that their language is not perfect, but please point out the language errors. It would be most appreciated.

  • and i agree, but i think i meant to say.that in contrast to the other classes coeds.

if you listen to the mens part mainly in the beginning, most of their A is not broad enough..that was i notice the most.

  • I'd like to find out who you are so i can kick your ***

  • that is why you should not be pegging so you do not get disappointed, leave it to the judges that is what they are there for. The sophmores was the best in the judges eyes therefore they deserved it.....

  • I never said I was dissapointed. I knew we were not going to win so it didn't really matter. But being the best in the eyes of the judges does not mean they deserved it most. The opinion of 5 people is far from factual.

  • They aren't just 5 people, they are 5 experienced people who know what they are talking about. That is why they are the JUDGES, because they are in a position to JUDGE so let's all just agree with them. The senior men did well, the Junior women did well, and even if you don't want to believe it the sophomore class did well in the co-ed.

  • I never said you guys didn't do well. All I am saying is that I think the freshmen did better and that is my opinion. Don't tell me to agree with the judges just because they are the judges. I am entitled to my opinion.

And to the rest of you Sophomores who are getting upset, I am not saying you guys didn't sound good so just relax.

  • The main reason why I think the freshmen should have won was because they had the best song...by far. If you would have given that song to any other class, I guarantee it would have been a winner. I mean the arrangement was just so good.

All the songs sounded good (they almost always do), but nothing stood out about the other ones including the sophomore song. I think that we (seniors) would have had a chance if we would have scrapped that horrible intro.

  • I agree. The arrangement for the freshmen was beautiful, however, I believe the seniors have first choice at song selection and the freshmen have it last.

  • yeah honestly i was shocked we won but when i watched it here i finally understood why we won. but i also don't think the freshman would have taken it if we didn't win. They were yelling their song not singing it.

  • I feel the Freshmen deserved to win, too! -- Very muchly so. And I suggest you don't make any crass comments about any class in a comments section on a publicly displayed YouTube video.

  • which paper was that?

  • Um, i wanna say the advertiser, but i could be mistaken. But to avoid any confusion, i was being sarcastic when i said "I love it" i meant that i think it's dumb, because if anything, it should have read "Even Spread at Song Contest"

  • wow, who are you to be making judgments like these?

are you some expert in music or something?

maybe you shouldn't criticize people like that.

and who are you to decide what is mature or not?

    what grade are you in?

i'd like to see you be a song director,

    or do a duet.

  • you're right, I have no right to be making any judgements, sorry. It's just what i heard. No, i am not an expert on music, just coming from a musical family, i know when music sounds off. i know i should criticize people, that was not my intention. When i say "mature" i mean that the arrangement seemed safe for their voices, which was proven by the senior men's killer song. Lastly, you're right, i couldn't do a duet, and i think it was sick, and to directors, cheers, i couldn't do it.

  • If you listen to the freshmen, they sound way too loud - almost as if they're yelling and competing to be heard - in some places.

  • yeah i was listening to all the classes just comparing and the freshman did sound like there were yelling, they just need to sing as one class instead of standing out and wanting to be heard.

  • OMG I AM SO HAPPY WE WON!!!

i swear.. as soon as mr. ako said "o" i was up in the air screaming!!

    GOOD JOB EVERYONE!!

    luv u guyz

  • i did the same,lei2011!

plus he was looking at us the whole time and when he said "o.." i stood up and started screaming. :)

  • OMG....dont say that! if anyone was to win just one award, they would be happy. we'll see how we do next year and 2011,say no neg. comments to anyone, especially about next year.

  • Brah we was da bestest of da bestest and to tink dat we taught we was goin' win da men or women but we won da one dat we no tink we gon win, but ho brah dat was intense. Oh and by da way dis is Mika "Mouse" Telona Jr.

  • yaayy :]

ku'u ipo pua rose is such a pretty song.

and how ironic when the 05 women sang it their senior year they won too :]]
