  • Also, Chen XiaoWang never closes his eyes, blocks Chi flow.

  • This is nice. I am just starting to learn the 19 movement form.

This is nice to watch and is helpful.

  • yang, chen, wu tai chi, music, dance, painting any art for that matter, when the human eye witnesses mastery of any art recognition is due. This man is a treasure. Thank you for posting.

  • echt cool !!!

  • fascinating and remarkable.

  • my message was a mistake, sorry

  • you don't have any real problems, don't you? Ha hahaha

  • Me ce vorrebbe proprio

  • Isn't it better to practice without windiness?

I do not mean to challenge, but I was under the impression that wind could cause a distraction.

    He must be a beast....

  • Is this particular video available on DVD? I know he has 19 on dvd already but that is studio footage not outdoors.

  • Chen Xiaowang created this 19 Form and Chen Taiji 38 Form. The purpose of these is to make the Chen Taiji easier for normal people. I learned this form from Chen Xiaowang himself. He is awesome. I did not realize how difficult the Chen Taiji is until I started to teach to my peers.

  • Chen Xiaowang is the 19th generation keeper of the Chen family style of Tai chi, a blood relative of the man who created Tai Chi, his Tai Chi is Tai Chi

  • Really? He's related to Zhang Sanfeng. Good luck proving that because there are no records of Zhang Sanfeng actually having lived, though the records of wudang martial arts which includes the thirteen wudang taijiquan has a much longer history than that of chenjiago

  • If there is any proof whatsoever that taijiquan didn't originate in chenjiagou, please point us into the right direction. The Chen family has the paperwork to trace back the lineage. What's there at Wudang?

  • apparently there are paintings at wudang. PAINTINGS!

In seriousness my friends, there is more conclusive evidence that suggests there were taiji practices long before the chen lineage, though they do (and this is undisputeable) have the longest recorded record of carrying the martial art taijiquan. In regards the zhang senfang comment, one of chen wangtins teachers shares a name of one of zhang sanfengs supposed students. But it is unclear if this is at all conclusive.

  • Chen wantings teacher shares a name of one of zhang sanfengs students?..............Zhang sanfeng (1200-1300) so his students lived around that time frame as well. while chen wan ting lived in the (1580-1660). so unless sanfengs student is 300 years old I highly doubt that. common sense man. Maybe one of his students ancestors or diciple's diciple's and so on and so on if you know what i mean but not students....haha sorry

  • You are an incredibly knowledged individual...however...

You have overlooked the most important detail: That Zhang Sanfeng was an immortal and thus lived outisde of time. By this any person capable of simple logical deduction can examine the dharma wheel of Chen Wanting and it becomes clear that he was a direct disciple of Zhang Sanfeng. Don't feel too bad about it.. it's a common mistake.

  • @wushu297

anybody home? ..."Zhang Sanfeng was an immortal and thus lived outisde of time"...dude, cut back on your meds

  • @andreas2342 . Andreas easy brother. Wudang has practiced martial arts and meditation and qigong etc for over a thousand years. They also are not really concerned in "proving" anything necessarily. I have seen wudang taiji and it is decidedly different from all other styles, their movement is more like water and thunder and carries a flavor that appears to be very very old. Just because you haven't seen the "documents" doesn't make it so. Besides documents can easily be faked. Just saying brothr

  • Even according to most Chinese scholars today Zhang Sanfeng is regarded as mostly legend with absolutely no evidence to support this mystical belief. Chen style IS the oldest "documented" form of Taijiquan and is decidedly older than Yang, Wu, Sun, or Hong and probably older than Wudang styles which have little documentation to prove their age. Only Gu style is simiarly old to Chen and was started by a Taoist monk who taught a Ching dynasty soldier the form. Little known even in China.

  • Yes, but it's hard to make an eudcated guess based on what was complied in the last hundered years after the revolution. Chen Wanting even int he Chen documents was said to have learned some martial arts from his friend whom he is constantly depicted in paitnings with who was a student of Wudang. Also the Zhao Bao village lineage points to a memeber of the chen family learning their style hundereds of years ago. There is no definate answer, but the common story seems too politically skewed

  • What seems evidential in terms of Wutang is that they had early thirteen form Taiji which sadly (this will upset a lot of people) was mainly gleaned initially from hard style Xiaolin school, and later softened in accordance with Taoist philosophy. It seems likely that they invented some forms of Baguazhang, Qigong, and certain Long Chuan styles as well a couple of Middle frame systems. Even today Chen style is by far the most Shaolin flavored Taijiquan and that is self-evident. I love Taiji!

  • Chen Wanting is said to have exchanged knowegle with Jiang fa but jiang fa's affliations are not said to have been wudang thats more of a hypothesis then documented. Also Zhao Bao style came from Chen qingping(1795 - 1868)...about the same AGE as yang style when it came out. so no zhao bao is not hundreds of years ago...barely over 150 which is recent in kung fu terms

  • Noone said chen xiao wang was related to zhang sanfeng learn how to read english...he said Chen xiao wangs the 19th gen master of CHEN taijiquan. haha retard When he said blood relative he meant Chen wanting the founder of taijiquan.

Aint it funny wudang 13 taijiquan is extactly the same as modern wushu taijiquan.......think about that for a sec

  • you don't have no real problems, don't you? Hahahahahahahaha

  • Yup your right, I dont have any problems! but you sure do!l read your own comment over because your sentence made no sense at all....hahahahahaha idiot!

  • Haha yeah but thats only one of the various taiji styles of wudang mountain, and saying that deosn't really arrive at any conclusion. Most modern wushu looks like cha quan, which is traditional but that doesn't discredit cha quan

  • WOW...i take taichi right now and i cant even begin to explain how difficult and amazing it is...that 19 step form was flawless...i am inspired to do it much more gracefully from now one, realizing im kind of butchering it, but u have to learn all the precise movements before u can just do it like a dance the way he did...i think that guy was my masters master in taichi...wow.

  • I think it was shot in Rossknowlagh co donegal Ireland. I know he filmed some video there

  • Where can I get music like that? I'd be really grateful if someone told me.

  • My wife Donna trained with Grandmaster Chen when he visited Canberra in 1992. Seeing this video brings back lots of memories of how great a teacher he is and how lucky she was to train with him.

  • beautiful

  • Absolutely fantastic and inspiring.

  • Great video. Where was this shot? I love the background.

  • shot on the coast of australia where he lives

  • Shot in the studio I think. The background is just a piece of wall paper.

  • It's not a studio defenetely. Studio cnt hv such a long screen. Also, notice his clothes, there s wind. Studio doesnt gv a shadow he has in the video. Also, notice birds flying in sky

  • This is a great help in learning and understanding.

Up to see the video .. again ! (and again)

    Thank you, my respect.

  • excellent excellent excellent thanks for posting this

its nice to see the small variations in how differnet folks are doing the form...and no less the creator of this form...

    muchimi

  • Excelente !! Thank Sifu

  • Who is this young hic? There is no peng in his movements and his eyes are always closed. Too bad he cannot read your comment as he is too busy sleeping.

  • Hey, I'm just saying that chuck norris is pretty amazing.

  • @theshadowsquadisback I think this guy would beat Chuck's ass, look how smooth and fast his punches are, they are so perfect...

  • @quangngy Certainly fast punches... I for one didn't even see them. Seriously, now...

  • Chen Xiaowang is a grand master whose Taiji forms are studied and practiced worldwide. He is incredible.

  • @theshadowsquadisback I don't get it...

  • @theshadowsquadisback the hick that you are refering too is Master Chen Xiaowang, research him (you might feel foolish at the comments you made), you can find out on his site that he will be teaching all over the world and you can drop in and challenge him or his sons them too to see they have peng. feel free to send me message. I hope this clarifies for you who this is.

  • @ironbuddha1008 Some people think Chen style isn't real TaiJi. I think that's what he meant. It's because he doesn't practice like other TaiJi masters do. But, he uses Chi flow, he uses everything. lol and to say he doesn't have any Peng is ridiculous. That guy said that two years ago, maybe he has learned now?

  • @dekal1 well the "some people" your refering to are stupid and uniformed

  • @ironbuddha1008 People don't know everything. Don't be too hard on them =)

  • @dekal1 mate a spade is a spade, and the guy in question is ignorant period and shouldnt disrespect people he dosent know ( in my opinion)

  • @ironbuddha1008 So very true. This is GrandMaster Chen xiaowang of the chen style famous for 16,19, and 38.my SIFU Ken Gullete is his student. Iron Buddha...dont pay mind to those ignorant people who post and know nothing. Its funny. And i agree with you about the peng comment. but its funny..you know. They just dont know.

  • @Motacspaintball your right , normally i ignore but man to disrespect someone like that irritates me no end, i trained with master chen son yinjin last weekend he is amazing , man hes got some serious strength and powr and his silkreeling takes one breath away...back to the drawing board for me though........peace
